Castlewood did a great job trimming back the tree. I would hire them again for any tree service needs.

This company deserves special recognition for excellent work and low price. I received estimates from 3 tree removal services and Castlewood was by far the lowest: Their estimate was $600 lower than another well known tree service company whose trucks are omnipresent in the Timonium area. Thinking it was too good to be true, I contracted with them anyway solely because of the high ratings on Angie's list. Although they took a few days to return calls and emails, they showed up on the appointed date and a crew of 4 worked like slaves from early morning until dusk. On site were a bucket truck with hyraulic lift, a HobiCat, a dump truck with chipper, a pickup with stump grinder and a large flatbed truck to haul off the logs. All of this for $1300! They asked permission to dump the logs on my front yard near the street for pickup by the flatbed, but when I expressed concerns about lawn damage, they put the logs in the street instead and routed traffic around them until the flatbed arrived. Don't be put off if they don't respond immediately to calls and emails - they will eventually get back to you. This low overhead in the customer interface probably contributes to the lower prices.

I have used them twice for taking down five major trees. Their price was competitive. Also, I had used them earlier in the end of August 2010 for taking down three trees and they had done an excellent job. Hence, I decided to use them again for taking down two more trees and they gave me a discount for it. The total price that they quoted was $1500 but we negotiated and they reduced it to $1350. They were friendly, accommodating and very professional. The place was spotless after they were done with the work.

Although it was hard to set up an appointment, once they were here they did a get job. Their prices were competitive. They cleaned up very nicely and took the extra branches we had in the yard.

Went well. They came quickly and actually ended up performing the service on a cold, rainy day. Clean-up in the yard was great. However, all the trees had to be dragged down a flight of stone stairs to the street level in order to be chipped. The stairs could've used some clean-up of debris, but that didn't happen. That being said, this type of clean-up would likely be easier in dry conditions. It was so wet, the debris could not have easily been swept up.

5 trees were downed by a storm and laying all over our property, decks and fences. 11 more trees were in perilous shape and had to be removed. Castlewood arrived very quickly with an estimate that was extremely reasonable. The workmen showed up on the arranged date, removed all 16 trees and even trimmed some others that were damaged. They then had all of the stumps ground down so that we can re-landscape. They worked quickly, efficiently and cleaned up leaving everything pristine. We cannot say enough good things about this company.

Crew was excellent. No damage despite tight space. Extreme care not to damage neighboring property. Left the area cleaner than when they came (except for the stump residue, of course). Very quick and professional. 30% cheaper than other companies and recommended by various landscape professionals.

Fantastic, showed up on time when they said they would, performed the work and cleaning up after.

Everything went great. It was gone and cleaned up before we knew it.
