CertaPro Painters® of Rockville

We are a small church in Gaithersburg with a need to have the church building painted.  This building is on the historic registry and the historic society get to dictate how the work must be done without any finical help. So much for my soapbox, I had several contractors out to bid the job and we chose CertaPro not for price but for their presentation and history with other clients.    The job went very well, on time, clean and the congregation was pleased with the work to the point that some church members have has work done by CertaPro.  Due to the age of our building and a moisture problem in some parts of the church we need have been plagued with peeling paint for years.  CertaPro has been back each year, under warranty, to repair peeling paint and has kept our building looking great.  I have had two smaller jobs done since this work and have used CertaPro for both with the same great results.

They did a great job. Everything turned out wonderful with them. They were very careful and complete. They worked very hard. I would definitely recommend them. The price was fair. I would absolutely use them again.

I have had CertaPro of Rockville at my home now for more than half a dozen different projects:  interior and exterior jobs, painting and wallpapering.  Each job has been professional, thorough, and reasonably priced.  I'm very happy with the quality of all the work that has been performed, and  I would not hesitate to use them for future projects.

Mr. Dan Kelly estimated, planned and supervised the whole project.  At various times he had up to 8 painters on the job.  They did such a good job that we had 3 offers on our Olney, MD house 3 days after we put it on the market.  Mr. Dan Kelly and Certapro Painters of Rockville are the best!

The workers provided painting and carpentry work on exterior damaged trim work.  They replaced rotting wood with a water resistant material to prevent future trim problems.  They also sanded and painted the front door.

On time, took time to do it right with competent and careful, pleasant labor and always supervised by the company owner.

We had dithered for weeks on which color to use and how much work to do and Dan Kelly, the owner, was very, very patient with us.   His emails (my preferred method of contact) were clear, concise, and prompt.   We finally chose the color and he sent out Richard to do the painting.  He did an excellent job prepping (the house hadn't been painted in 18+ years) and painting, and was very conscientious in cleaning up.  He even touched up the front foundation edge which was not part of the final agreement.  We plan to call them back in the Spring to finish the foundation. 

I have to say I would have no qualms about hiring them to paint the interior if I didn't want to do it myself.  When we invited Richard in to look at the painting we'd already done inside, he was careful to ensure his boots were cleaned off and not to touch anything.

They charged me $3700 for their service. They were there doing some work, but I wasn’t happy with the final outcome. I wouldn’t use them again.

He would come over sometimes, twice a day to check on the job.
Dan, made sure we were satisfied, he was very easy to work with, and very personable.
The crew, was very nice men, and they always had somebody that spoke english, which was important to me, so I could communicate with them.
They were courteous, did a very good job.
I have nothing but praise for Certapro, they did an excellent job for us.
They are going to start on Monday, painting the inside of our house.

They were very professional and they came on time.  The job looked great once they were done.  They priced right for their work.  I would definitely recommend them and I would use them again in the future too.

I have used them several times. They are very reliable and they do a great job. Their prices are a bit higher but I am OK with paying that since they do a great job. They are very professional and I have dealt with the same guys the last few times.

They are very good. I don't remember how much I paid them for the service as it was paid by insurance, this time I am paying them and I can say that their prices are higher than the average company in the area, but I am trying to get them down. They are willing to negotiate. They took two days to finish painting the drywall and basement because one whole day they replaced a lot of stuffs to do a lot of carpentry work. They were great. The sales guy who came out to give me the estimate was the main boss and he came out everyday to supervise the workers so it wasn't just the workers out there. They were very good, prompt and completed the job in a very professional manner.

They were very responsive. The guy who came here was Charles and I liked him so much at my house that I used him at my business.

I had a good overall experience with them. They were prompt and very neat during the job. They came out and fixed the previous painting job that I had done. The previous company was very messy and did not do a very good job. Certapro did a lot of preparation work so correct the problems from the previous job and they fixed all the problems and it looked very good.

I have used them many times and referred them to others. They move things around to paint and take precautionary measures to keep them clean. They did an excellent job and cleaned everything after the work was done.

Great. Dan was recommended by a friend, who also told me that several of his friends had used Dan and was very happy. Dan came over and gave me the lowest of 4 bids. After talking to my friend again, I chose Dan and his crew. On the day of the job, just 5 days after the estimate, Dan and the crew arrived early for their 8am appointment, and Dan walked me, and them, through the condo, pointing out exactly what needed to be done. The crew spoke English, but since I spoke Spanish it made things easier. Dan and I both left after about an hour. The crew called me around 4pm to say the job was done. Overall, they did an excellent job. I walked through the condo(Dan wasn't present)and pointed out small things I didn't like-small spots they may have missed next to a baseboard heater, or the fact that I didn't like the job they did on the plates covering my electrical sockets. The man in charge of the crew immediately sent his men to fix every single thing I pointed out. No complaints, happy to comply. I'd definitely recommend that any client look through everything carefully, but I did not have the sense that they were trying to cut corners. There were simply small things I didn't like and they were happy to fix all of them. My only complaint was that the crew had accidentally gotten a number of spots of blue paint on my bedroom rug. They tried to clean it up with paint thinner, or something, and did a pretty good job, but didn't inform me of the problem. Later, after I'd paid and they left, I noticed a few spots on the rug were wet, knelt down, and saw a slight discoloration. When I get a better light in the room, I could see slight blue spots remaining. I called Dan, a bit freaked out as I'd already paid, and he said it would be made right. The next day, the painters came back and for two hours scrubbed my rug until it was good. Another thing they did, to their credit-I had tried various paints as test colors on my wall. One of the colors, a deep red, was still showing through once they put several coats on the wall(not the color, but the block that I painted was still visible, it shined or something). The painter got plaster and came back, plastered the wall and repainted again until it was fixed. I was very impressed. The guys are good. They did their job. They charged me exactly what they said they would. No money up front. And when I had complaints, they fixed them. I would have preferred had they just told me that they spotted my carpet, so I could have checked myself to see if it was all cleaned, but still, in view of everything else, I think it was a simple mistake-they thought they had fully cleaned it, but because of the poor lighting couldn't tell that some remained. I'd recommend these guys, and will use them again.

Dan was very helpful. They had a whole team that come in and finished the job pretty quickly.

Dan Kelly's foreman, Jose, and his team of painters arrived by 8:00am and performed like a well-oiled machine. They power washed, hand sanded/scraped, caulked/sealed and paid attention to details like wrapping my jalousy windows and siding in plastic and bagging/taping my brass lighting fixtures/spot lights so they wouldn't be affected by the paint spray/brushing. They also draped the entire carport floor with plastic to prevent any staining/paint splatters. The entire project was completed under 8 hours and when they left the work area was spotless and my house looked 25 years younger. I had to go buy new hardware for my back door, it looked too good to put the old stuff back on!

Chose CertaPro, although price was 2nd highest of 6, because of professionalism of estimator, references, large company, no subcontractors. Job was estimated to take 4 days with 3 men. I insisted on 2 coats of Behr paint despite contractor's recommendation of other brand and 1 coat to save money. First day, 2 men worked only 3 hrs. Second day, 2 men worked 5 hrs. Crew said they had done 2 coats and used Behr paint but when I returned home, I saw only 1 coat was done and paint brand had been substituted with contractor's choice. Project Manager/Estimator sent whole new crew on 3rd day to do rest of job. Language barrier hindered my communication with crew. At completion, I pointed out which surfaces had only 1 coat, which surfaces were wrong color, and where paint needed to be cleaned off furniture or touched up. Received discount due to initial crew problem and delay. Wallpapering great. Finished on 6th day (Saturday) at my insistence.

CertaPro did an awesome job! They were very prompt, professional and did very good work. There were a lot of issues I needed fixed and they did a very thorough job completely to my satisfaction. I would recommend them for sure.

I was very happy with their work. They started the job in only a few days and they finished it in 3 days. Tony is nice and honest. He does use subcontractors, which he admits to, but his people did a good job.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. WHEN THEY POWER WASHED MY HOME THEY DID THE PORCH AND THEY LEFT PAINT CHIPS EVERYWHERE AND WHEN I SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEY SAID THAT WASN'T PART OF THEIR JOB. THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL AND THEY ARE NOT GOOD AT RETURNING PHONE CALLS.

THEIR WORK IS VERY GOOD. THEIR PEOPLE ARE FRIENDLY AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE WORK AREA. I HAVE USED THEM MANY TIMES, AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM IN THE FUTURE. IT IS POSSIBLE TO PAY LESS, BUT THE QUALITY OF WORK CAN NOT BE HIGHER, NOR THE PEOPLE NICER TO HAVE IN YOUR HOME.
