Nick Rivers Gutters

We found Nick River Gutters on Angie's List for seasonal gutter cleaning. They were not the most economical option but Super Service Award convinsed us to use them. They did a great job cleaning the gutters, taking before after pics, cleaning the debries and throwing away the trash. After the service, we were contacted by several vendor who claim to provide similar service for much cheaper cost ($100+ cheaper) so we are not sure we'll try them again unless the service is cheaper.

NICKS GAVE ME A TIMELY, COMPETITIVE BID. NICK WAS THE ONLY BIDDER TO GET UP ON MY ROOF AND ASSESS THE EXISTING GUTTER SYSTEM. HE OFFERED LESS COSTLY ALTERNATIVES TO THE WORK I WAS PLANNING TO DO. NICK FOUND SEVERAL PLACES WHERE THE EXISTING GUTTER AND DRIP EDGE WERE NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY AND RECOMMENDED FIXING THESE LOCATIONS AND ADDING AN ADDITIONAL DOWNSPOUT IN LIEU OF A MORE EXPENSIVE GUTTER REPLACEMENT. NICK AND TEAM ARRIVED ON TIME AND DID A THOROUGH, PROFESSIONAL JOB. I AM PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE WORK DONE AND WITH THE COMPANY'S RESPONSIVENESS.

Everything was very efficient and couldn't have been simpler. I called and someone answered immediately. She was very friendly. I made an appointment, and she explained exactly what would happen. On the scheduled day I left a check in an envelope taped to the front door, then when I returned home that night there was a receipt taped to the door in its place. I received the photos via email the next day - they used Walmart services but I didn't have to pay to access or download them. It was one of the least painful home maintenance experiences I've ever had.

I was not home for the actual visit of the cleaning crew, but overall I think the crew did a decent job. My main concern was to have the crew clean out any leaves/debris that I thought was clogging one of my drain spouts causing the water to flow over the edge. After they finished the job, I realized during the next rain that two of my gutters are actually leaking causing a some of the water to forgo running down the drain spout. I wish the crew/company would have investigated this more and alerted me about it and offered a solution. I thought the before/after cleaning pictures were a nice and quot;touchand quot; offered by the company as proof of how bad your gutters are/are not, but in reality, the few pictures they took were really bad and didn't show much. I also asked the company via e-mail for a quote of installing a and quot;gutter guardand quot; system, but they never followed through with this.

I planned to wait at least a year to do this review on purpose. Unfortunately, I keep forgetting which is why it has taken too long. Because its been so long, I don't remember the cost or the date of service. I have consistantly had leakage problems with two areas of my gutters. Nick was the THIRD contrator. Within the first year or so after the first two companies "fixed" it, the problems returned each time. It was very frustrating dealing with both of those companies. So, this is when I decided to join Angies List. I hired Nick and decided to wait over a year to see if the problems would reoccur as they have during the past THREE years prior to Nick. Although some might consider this a late response, I think people respond too quickly. The GREAT news is that the gutters are still working great!!!!!! Nick is a nice guy and does excellent work. I highly recommend him and I do recommend him when I know someone who is looking for gutter service. I have had so many things to replace during the past three years that I can't afford to have him come back and do more work. But when I can afford it, I will be calling him again.

When I called, they were incredibly professional and friendly, they put us on the schedule quickly, came on the date we agreed on. I LOVE that they took before/after pictures of our gutters and there was NO evidence of debris anywhere on our property when they left. We will definitely use them again.

They scheduled the work shortly after we called. They came and cleaned the gutters, diagnosed some gutter problems for us, told us what absolutely needed to be done and what could wait, and ended up charging us less than the original estimate. They were thorough and solved our drainage issues. We were very happy with the service and would use them again.

This was a good experience as I expected from previous Angies List comments. I contacted Nick Rivers Gutters and spoke with the office person, Laura. She thought it would be at least a week before they could come out and give an estimate. However they managed to get me an e-mailed estimate within a few days. I had asked for various options such as with and without covers. I had trouble understanding whether the garage was being included, however shortly i received a phone call and e-mail indicating they had given me the wrong estimate. After a couple additional e-mails we got my questions clarified and corrected estimates. Fortunately this was even lower than the original 'error estimate'. I expressed concern about how much damage they might do to my newly planted grass seed along the back of the house and was assured they would take every precaution. They only needed to go up at one place and then they would work from the roof.i decided to proceed. As my existing gutters were brown (musket), they were not in stock so they would have the gutter manufacture come the day before and deliver the gutter. It is formed on site from long strips of aluminum. As i wanted to be present when they did the work, we agreed on a Wednesday. However Hurricane Sandy arrived Monday and Tuesday, so i doubted they would be out Wednesday. I asked and they said yes, they would be out but may not be able to install the new gutter as the delivered gutter would not likely arrive until late Wednesday or Thursday. I arrived at the house (from another location) on Wednesday about 9 am and they were almost finished with the gutter cleaning and cover installation on all but the rear gutter as this had not been delivered yet. I was shown the hidden hangers they use and how thin the damaged rear gutter was. They were able to put the ladder up in only one spot and thus didn't impact the new grass. They contacted the gutter manufacturer and verified the new 33' gutter would likely be delivered late that day, so they promised to be back the next day to complete the installation. I was unable to return until Thursday night, but inspection on Friday verified that they had completed the work as promised. I was sent, via e-mail, pictures of the gutters before and after cleaning, and with and without the covers. Nick was very forthcoming during the entire experience and did all that he said he would do, which was more than contracted (i.e., putting a bit of paint on the garage cover edge).

They were very professional and did a great job.

Great service and punctuality. Even with an impending hurricane and a very hectic schedule work was completed on time and according to plan. The pictures he makes available on his website are very thoughtful and helpful.

They weren't available in needed time frame but were very professional and called early as soon as they got my message.

After all the glowing reviews here on Angie's list, I decided this company sounded wonderful. I was actually looking forward to meeting with them. However, that was short-lived because I never received a return call. In this competitive and down economy, it suprises me that a small business would just ignore a potential customer. To me that is the sign of unreliability and unprofessionalism.

They were on time, pleasant and did the work as promised. They even provided an album of before and after pictures so we could see the work. Well done!

It went fine. He came out in a timely matter. He sent me pictures and did a great job with all of the work. It was all done in 24 hours. I would recommend him to anyone. He was very fair, professional, quick and easy to work with.

We found Nick Rivers from Angies list and selcted them on the basis their A Rating.I called them and they came out a few days later and e-mailed us an estimate. I got no other estimates, but I thought their price was well below that indicated by Consumer Reports for a gutter cover installation. Last week I gave them the go-ahead and they arrivedtoday at 7:00 am and finished cleaning the gutters and installing the shields by 10:00 am. They have e-mailed me before and after pictures of my gutters. I won't really know how effective the Leaf Relief shields are until we get a heavy rainstorm and until the leaves fall later this year. Actually the big test will be and quot;helicopter seasonand quot; next spring. I will submit a supplementary report then.

I called and they came. Everything went according to the plan.

While these folks were very friendly there were a few dropped balls in attempting to have our gutters cleaned and a section of gutter replaced from the storm a few weeks ago. I began by completing the online contact form but after not hearing back from them after a few days I called - turned out they were away for the week, so I gave it a couple more days following their return. When I did not hear anything I finally called to see if I could schedule a cleaning and an estimate on replacing a section of gutter. I was told that someone could be in the area the following Tuesday to handle it, but then that evening by email I was informed that he would come by the next day as the following week would not be good after all. I responded with a couple of pictures of the area where the repair was needed since I couldn't be home the next day. No response back until today, almost a week later, when I am told they cannot handle copper guttering. That's fine but A) I would think you might ask that question up front to save everyone time, andB) they don't even clean out copper gutters? Again, this was a consult only and maybe I just caught folks at a bad time, but I think it could have been managed a bit better.

I had one gutter/downspout that would overflow badly whenever we had a heavy rainstorm, even though I have gutter covers. I have a lot of tall trees so I had assumed that tree pollen/seeds had infiltrated the gutter over time and partially clogged it. Turns out that squirrels had eaten a hole in the vinyl gutter cover over the downspout and built a nest in the gutter. The workman cleared that out, and covered the hole in the cover with a metal patch. They also cleaned all the other gutters/downspouts, which had some debris (but no squirrel nests, thankfully). They did a fantastic job, even telling me that my gutters and downspouts were in very good shape, and didn't need replacing (unlike the roofer who replaced my roof last year, who said that all of it needed replacing). He said that my gutter covers aren't a very good design, but since they have (mostly) worked for me for the last 15 years he wouldn't recommend replacing them. I appreciate their honesty, since they also install gutters and gutter covers. Since the work was done two days ago, we have had a major rain and the gutters and downspouts are working perfectly. I highly recommend this company and will use them again if I ever have any more problems.

Overall process when well. He came to the house the day he schedule and clean the gutter and sent me the email of the pictures that afternoon of the job he performed. In regards to payment he requested to leave it at the door ( I did not feel comfortable leaving a chk outside my door not knowing who would take it and I also had printed a coupon that I saw on Angie's list for $10 off for him to deduct from my final bill ). So I called that afternoon and pay via credit card and he was fine with it. Also the coupon was not apply when I saw my credit card charged so I called Nick back and he sent me a check for a $10 refund. So i was satisfied with that process. Thank you Nick.

Great experience from start to finish. Called back same day. Scheduled work immediately. I sent in a photo of what needed to be done and a price was e-mailed to make sure it was within reason.

Gutter cover was pulled up from the intense thunderstorm a week ago. I called Nick Rivers and was asked to email them a photo of the damage. They responded by the next evening and was able to give me a price quote and schedule me a week later. They are very prompt and responsive with all questions. They arrived on-time and completed their work within a 1/2 hour. I am more than pleased with their professionalism, response time and communication. Highly recommended! :)

The men arrived early in the AM Monday with a reminder email sent before the weekend. Payment terms were discussed as well as what was required of the homeowner for work to begin. The men worked quietly and completed the work without multiple breaks, cell phone calls, smoking, or other nonsense loitering. As soon as the job was completed, they provided me with before/after pictures. Job well done!

After a little bit of phone tag (always a good sign that the company is busy) we got a price and a date set up. They (two guys) came by mid morning. Used our water but nothing else and cleaned the gutters. We were home and so they knocked before they started to be sure they didn't surprise us and were considerate enough to not block our driveway (even though it meant they had to park a little farther away). Cleaned the gutters and alerted us to a problem spot on our roof. A great experience.

We were having a heck of a time trying to find a company that could repair and seal our gutters, not just replace them. Nick Rivers Gutters came through. They were professional, responsive, and honest with us. They said they could replace the gutters but really didn't need to be replaced. They cleaned and sealed our gutters and installed a diverter for $140. Even better, they took pictures of the before and after and emailed them to us same day. We've usually gotten our gutters cleaned by those folks who leave fliers on the doors saying they'll be in the area but never again-- we'll go with Nick Rivers from now on.
