I explained that my gutters needed cleaning and a soffit needed repair due to a faulty gutter. He said he would take a look and leave an estimate in the mailbox. Description of Work: Nick Rivers Gutters did an excellent job! I had my gutters cleaned for the first time in 15 years. My gutters are two stories high and have mesh metal gutter covers that were removed for cleaning and then replaced. Pictures were provided that show the before and after which was a an excellent touch (particularly since I have never ventured to the roof!)

We were on vacation at the time he did the work, so we didn't speak to the workers. However, we returned home to find the gutters were cleaned and the work was done very professionally. Nick left us a bill, and followed up with on why we were having gutter problems and how to fix it. When we've saved up the money to fix the gutter, I will definitely call Nick back. It's a family-owned business and you'll get the one-on-one attention you don't get from the big chain places.

Description of Work: I contacted Nick Rivers gutters for gutter repairs and cleaning about two weeks ago. I was set up for an estimate with a time window of 8am to 11 am. At noon I called the office and was told the time window was only an estimate but that she would call her people out in the field to remind them to get to me as soon as they could. Since I am a landlord and do not live in the property but have an hour's commute I value providers who are reliable. That said, within an thirty minutes two guys showed up, reviewed my situation, made very reasonable suggestions, seemed quite professional and capable. Since part of my problem involves an adjoining townhouse, I was told I would need the neighbor's permission to do the work that involved their side. I then heard nothing from the firm for couple of days, called them, didn't get a call back that day, so contacted them by email as suggested on their web site. I got an email back the next morning saying that had no record of my job but would send somebody that day to take a look at the situation! I couldn't believe the two guys who had come out wouldn't remember the job, so I called again, got somebody, who said they would check it out and call me back. Success - an estimate was given, and the woman also asked that I have the neighbor call the firm directly to give permission to work on their side. A job date of 11/18 was established. I contacted the neighbor, she said great, she was looking for someone to clean gutters anyways and would call them. I had been told Nick Rivers could only give a date, no time or time window for the job and to be at the townhouse by 7 am and stay til dusk. I left my house at 5 :45 & arrrived before 7. At around 11, I called to see if they had any idea when they would be out, and got a message the the firm would open at 2pm. I started calling at 2, got the same message, left voicemails every 30 minutes or so from thereon - still the same message. At 4:45 I finally got a call back. The woman stated I had been scheduled for today but they had not come because they had not gotten a call from the neighbor. I was extremely disappointed at this way of doing business. 1. Had they called at any time that day (or before) to tell me of the problem, I could have fixed it instantly - the neighbor has a new baby and is always home, ditto had they just showed up. 2. Had they actually opened their office at 2pm as their voicemail promised, I could have fixed the problem immediately. 3. The woman was extremely rude during this conversation and when I told her I needed a more flexible and reliable company to to the work, she said, "Good!" and hung up on me.
