They did an excellent job of trimming the trees without causing any damage. I was particularly impressed with their skill at cutting high branches without using a bucket truck or crane. They were also very thorough in cleaning up the pruing debris. The work was performed as agreed upon in advance and there were no surprises.

The big derecho storm that blew thru the area the end of June 2012 ripped huge limbs from the tops of our 100 ft oak trees. Some of those limbs fell on another tree which cracked its trunk and toppled onto our roof. The yard and driveway were a complete disaster area -- filled with limbs that were as big as 8-10 inches in diameter. At 6:30 am the following morning, I called Lasbury Tree and left a message for John Lasbury that we were in dire need of help. My wife and I then began clearing what we could, using a chain saw to cut up the large limbs and drag them to various piles around our property. Around 10:30 am, two men waved us down in out back yard (we couldn't hear over our chain saw). It was a crew from Lasbury! I was never so relieved to have help so fast. The crew then went about clearing the tree from the roof. They got the tree cleared, and also felled another "leaner" that was about to topple over into the power lines from the street. They used a leaf blower to clean the entire roof and driveway. At that point, they had to attend to other emergencies caused by the storm, but they came back with a bigger crew a couple of days later to cut up and chip all of the logs, limbs and other debris around the house. They completely raked the yard, and blew away any remaining leaves. The property sparkled! I was completely amazed at how fast they responded to my emergency call, and how well they performed the storm clean up. I've had John and his crews do various jobs for me over the last few years, but this last one earned him the top spot on my list of go-to contractors. I already have another call into him to come out and prune the trees that were damaged. They have never been amongst the cheapest of tree companies, but they're one of the best.

I had an appointment for noon on May 25, 2012. No one ever showed up and no one answered the phone when I called or replied to the messages I left. Very unprofessional.

It was a fairly straight forward job, and Lasbury gave us the most reasonable estimate. Our region had massive storms that downed many trees a couple of days after I had called to schedule the appointment. I called back, figuring that they would be too busy to deal with this non-emergency job. They explained that although they were really busy, the appointment would be kept. The crew from Lasbury showed up on time and made quick work of the job. They even had to deal with a surprise bee, wasp, or hornets nest that was hidden in the trunk. They did a great job!

The first time that they came out they cleaned up a tree that we wanted them to take down. They are very good. They are fast, reasonable, and they clean up the mess.

They did a terrific job from estimate (which was well written and concise) to the cleanup once the work was done. the crew was polite and very efficient. They really did a great job. We will be using them again to take down a few other trees and know they will do a great job...

I selected Lasbury Tree from Angies List because they are a top rated company, and because their listing indicated I was in their service area (Northern Anne Arundel County). I wanted to have several trees on my property checked for disease/damage. I contacted them by e-mail, and Mr Lasbury responded that he would be available early the week of June 4, 2012, and asked for my address and some days and times I would be available. I responded, not knowing whether he would be available in the evening, I asked, along with giving him my address. I never heard back from him.

Good response. Very friendly gentleman. Very professional. Just priced too high.

John is very knowledgable and his estimate was competitive. I have used this company in the past with successful results. Bunny, Bobby and the crew were punctual, friendly and did a great job.

I've been using Lasbury Trees and Shrubs since 2007 or 8. Every year since they have done a yearly pruning, dead limb removal, spray trees for bag worms and such and always come very quickly when we have storm/snow damage. Of which we've had quite a bit of these last few years. If the tree is on the house or close to it John sends his men right away. If the tree is not in the way of anything you may have to wait a bit. Trees on houses always come first, as it should. John and his men know their stuff, they're here when they say they will be, stay til the work is done and always clean up the debris. And the cost is always very reasonable. I haven't left a report since the 1st time and just felt it was time for an update. I am so glad I found them on Angie's List! I've recommended Lasbury Trees to many of my friends knowing it wouldn't come back to haunt me. When you're getting estimates for your work, call Lasbury, I think they are the ones you'll take.

He charged me $300 for his services. He’s come here before and Mr Lasbury is very accommodating. He actually does what he says he’s going to do. He gives you a quote and the he comes out and does the job. I don’t have to be home for him to do it since its outside landscaping. I will absolutely use his services again in the future.

The company gave a complete and accurate estimate for all of the trees on our property. We decided to have only part of that work done. When I contacted the company to let them know what work we decided to have done and they said they would schedule it in the next few weeks. It was a month before they called to arrange to do the work. They arrived on time to perform the work; however, on that day they removed the trees and shrubs without grinding down the stumps. I called to find out when the stump grinding would be done and they came back two days later to finish that up. The work was good, but I would be happier if there was better communication about the timing and what to expect. If we decide to remove any other trees, we will contact this company again to do the work.

They came out and did an estimate the day after I called and did the work the next business. The workers were here first thing, asked exactly what I wanted and did the work. They cleaned up after themselves and the work looked good.

John was extremely responsive..I contacted him via Angie's List and hear back from him within 30 mins via email. One of his estimators was in the area and stopped by within two hours! Try to get that kind of response from a tree service. They set expectations appropriately on their backlog and had to reschedule due to rain once which I appreciated as the trees were in a low-lying area. Damage to the lawn was minimal considering the area and size of the trees. This was not an easy job but they showed up around 8:30 AM and finished around 2PM. I will definitely use these guys again if needed. The crew was friendly and talkative and clearly worked well together...I was really impressed.

They were fairly busy due to recent storms, but Mr. Lasbury returned our call quickly and set up an appointment. Mr. Lasbury came and walked our yard to discuss the work needed done. He recommended removal of one tree and removal of 1/2 of a larger maple--but he agreed to save the half that was still alive. We discussed the trees near the house and he recommended work that I believed needed to be done. He provided a detailed estimate a couple of days later. The price seemed reasonable and I signed and mailed back a contract. They were available to do the work soon, but they I delayed the work because I was going out of town. The crew arrived on time on the appointed day. The three fellows (who were responsive and polite) worked hard most of the day to complete the work. All the work was completed as planned, and the supervisor went the extra mile to try to remove the roots of the cherry tree and the shrubs they were removing. The crew cleaned up very well and left the yard cleaner than when they started. After reviewing all the work that they did, I willingly paid them by check. All in all, a job well done at a reasonable price! I can recommend them to anyone needing tree work done.

All work was performed in a highly professional manner. One tree was accidentally overlooked during the initial work. Lasbury returned to correct the problem at no additional charge.

Great- will be using him in the spring.

This was a great experience. I got an estimate the same day as my first call. The crew came out and had the entire tree down within an hour, so neatly that you would never know there had ever been a tree sprawled over the deck and onto the roof. The head of the crew came to let me know what he had seen in terms of roof damage, which was very helpful for finding a roofer later. These guys rock!

Thought it appropriate to post another review of them, within 6 months of my last review, since they once again provided exceptional service. After Hurricane Irene - like pretty much everyone in the Baltimore area - I had a number of tree limbs down. Called John Sunday morning and asked to be put on what I knew must have been a long list of customers needing attention. Later THAT SAME DAY (the hurricane had blown through the night before), I had a crew climbing trees in my backyard to take care of the damage. Greatly appreciate the responsiveness.

I’ve used them before. Overall it was wonderful. They were very good and that’s why I called them back again to do the fig tree again. They are very prompt in getting back to you. They can do the work without even having me being at home and so that was a good thing. Their price was average. It wasn’t anything under the ordinary. I will use their services again in the future.

John Laxbury, who is an arborist, came by to evaluate the trees on our new property. He diagnosed several problems and provided an estimate, along with a good explanation of the primary problem: a large old (70-80 yr. old) sycamore tree with four trunks that were beginning to split apart. The tree had previously been cabled but the cable was installed improperty and had snapped apart, leaving the tree even more vulnerable than it would have been if it had never been cabled. Subsequently, Mr. Lasbury's crew of 4 men spent an entire day working on the sycamore tree. They pruned a great number of branches and installed cables high up on the tree to hold it together and ensure stability to the limb which holds a swing -- a favorite place for my grandchildren and their friends to play. We know the crew worked hard and steadily throughout the day because we watched them, in awe of their dare-devil climbing into the very tall branches of the tree. They cleaned up as the work progressed and left our property just as they found it, except for the improvements to the tree. Mr. Lasbury came by near the end of the day to check the crew's work. He also spent time with me explaining the characteristics and qualities of sycamores and our sycamore in particular (I very much appreciated this because although I have owned 5 different properties with lots of trees, I never before had a sycamore in my yard.) Mr. Lasbury impressed me as a knowledgeable professional who enjoys sharing some of his knowledge with his customers. .A different crew came by a couple of days later to treat other trees and shrubs in the yard for various infestations and diseases which apparently had been ignored by the previous owner.. Finally, following a call from Mr. Lasbury, the first crew came back to replace some of the bolts used to secure the cables. They had run out of the longer bolts on their first visit. This struck me as exactly the kind of follow-up you would hope for from a professional. Tree service always seems expensive, and Mr. Lasbury's company is no exception. However, I am very impressed with the difficulty of their work, their professionalism in performing it, and the quality of the end result. The tree now looks beautiful, with its architecture and white limbs fully visible, and its crown of leaves sitting much more lightly on its head. It is one of the main attractions of our home and I am grateful to Mr. Lasbury for helping us save it and keep it healthy.
