RICHLAND HOMES

The experience was absolutely awful. This builder, and this company,have left a trail of victimized customers from North Carolina to Maryland. They conduct business in a manner that is deceptive, deceitful and without any ethics. The homes they construct have poor workmanship poor quality materials, and are full of surprises left for a homeowner to find long after the builder is gone. Our problems have ranged from incorrect wiring of A/C units to improper roofing (we have shingles nailed directly to plywood on our roof, with no layer in between)to floorboards that were not banged into place, improperly installed tile in bathrooms, the list goes on and on. Our lot contained a conservations easement that was hidden from us (we were given plats for the property that did not contain the easement "by mistake". We have had bill collectors, subs, and servers at our door looking for this builder.

We had a signed contract with Richland Homes to build a home for us in Kellswater Bridge. Working out all of the details, color selections, etc. Due to the numerous liens placed on the company by unpaid subcontractors and suppliers, the developer of Kellswater, George Kaiser, would not allow Richland to build in the community anymore. We have now been waiting several months for the return of our deposit money, which Richland has not yet done, and they will not return phone calls.
