Basement Waterproofing
After finding water in our basement on Monday night, we called AA Action and left a message at 10 pm. They promptly called me Tuesday morning and had someone out by Tuesday afternoon. AA installed a drain and sump pump on Wednesday in the middle of rain storm. The crew was great and they left the work area pristine.

Basement Waterproofing
Our 20'x20' rental townhouse basement flooded. The team came out that day to give me an estimate and explained how they would do the work. They cut a foot wide and foot deep of concrete around the perimeter of the basement plus a hole for the sump pump. They filled it with drainage tile and new concrete, and put in a pipe to remove water from the sump pump basin to the outside. They even buried the pipe so it wouldn't get hit by the lawnmower. They were easy to work with (I did it all over the phone, and then they worked with my tenant to schedule the work) and comply with industry association standards for waterproofing. Their price was competitive and their scheduling was great - they could have been there 2 days after the flood but the community parking lot was being repaved, delaying the work. The job took 2 days to complete. No complaint from my tenant, but the concrete needs to set for at least 3 weeks before we can finish the damaged drywall and flooring.

This past year, as we were removing the old wood paneling in our basement, we found a diagonal crack along one of our exterior walls. If a crack in a wall is not terrifying enough we had signs of previous water damage and the possibility of a crack in the foundation. We called AA Action Waterproofing to give an assessment and these guys were thorough. Robert spent 3 hours explaining in detail the process by which the damage occurred, the methods to repair said damage, and the steps necessary to maintain the integrity of the basement. He then followed up with a comprehensive report a day later. Based on the quality of this initial assessment we decided to go with them and could not be happier. The work crew lead by Marvin was timely, polite and efficient. They installed an underground drainage system, repaired the wall with carbon fiber slats, and underpinned the rear portion of the house. Unlike other contractors, AA Action provides a guarantee for their work. They are also very easy to work with, prompt with paperwork, and always willing to answer questions. I was very happy with the work done. It wasn't cheap, but it's very good work. I now have a dry crawl space and peace of mind that my foundation will last for many years to come and I'm not constantly pumping out my crawl space every time it rains. They installed additional supports, poured a new footer, created an exterior entry into the crawl space, installed a sump pump and a dehumidifier as well as lining the interior brick with a waterproofing compound as well as installing drainage interior to the house. They even reinforced all the joists, both at the lateral and perpendicular, and installed lots of insulation. I can actually sleep well at night, for the first time in 9 months.

A rep visited our house for an initial assessment and gave us a good price (which we knew was good because he asked for the opportunity to beat his competitors). But be prepared to spend money here if you want this job done right. The work was done in 3 days and they used a HEPA filter to pump dust and debris outdoors. My only complaint is that they had to disconnect our washer/dryer and the utility sink. In doing so, they turned the water back on and when we started using the water, it was coming out of the utility sink pipe all over the wet concrete floor because they didn't reconnect the trap. Also, there was still a lot of dirt and mud that was left behind for us to clean up. Maybe a minor oversight, but they could do a better job of ensuring the crew doesn't miss a detail like this, or setting expectations with the home owners if this is normal, especially for the price we paid which isn't cheap. One last thing is that they installed a second sump pump and well, which is great, but code requires each pump to have its own dedicated electrical line and the Waterproofing company doesn't do this. Be prepared to spend on an electrician for this last step. That said, our basement is dry.

Everything was smooth from beginning to end. We had certain circumstances that were a little tricky to work with and the team was knowledgeable and accommodating. I felt confident in the work he was doing and in the final product. I was kept updated on all aspects of the job and all questions were asked. The job took half a day longer than expected but it was the nature of how things worked out. Workers were early each day and worked very hard.

Basement Waterproofing, Concrete Repair
The waterproofing went great. The drain went in quickly and they were able to minimalize damage in tearing up my bathroom tile and cabinets in the office. If you are looking for a company that will fix drywall and tile that is torn up for the drain, you will have to look elsewhere. It was made very clear during the estimate that they would not do anything other than installing the drain and sump pumps and I was OK with that. Overall it was great service and would recommend them to people who can hang drywall and lay tile if they need the drain for a finished/semi-finished basement.

I was impressed with the company before any work was actually performed. I submitted a request online to have someone inspect my basement and Rhonda contacted almost immediately to set up an appointment. She was very friendly and courteous and asked several questions to provide the inspector with more specific information on my house. The inspector, Steve W., did a very thorough evaluation of the basement interior and the foundation exterior. He took lots of time to explain what he was looking for and showed me pictures to illustrate the various stages of water damage from other houses so I could understand the nature of the problem in my own basement. Once he detailed his recommendation for work that was needed and the materials & processes involved, he outlined the costs and explained the deposit and payment options. My basement required an extensive amount of work involving breaking the concrete floor, digging a shallow trench, laying down a system of drainage pipes, filter materials and gravel, installing 2 sump pumps with backup batteries, and then pouring new concrete to finish the job. What I really appreciated was his efforts to bring the initial cost estimates down by utilizing work crews and some equipment previously scheduled for another customer's project, which had suddenly been postponed. Due to the fortunate timing of this, he could pass on a great deal of savings to me for my project. The company only required a 10% deposit and work began 4 days following the inspection! It was a 5-day project. A very courteous and professional work crew arrived Monday morning exactly on time. The foreman, Joe B., explained how they planned to get started and what would happen the first day. They also moved heavy items which I could not move myself, away from the exterior walls in order to start their work. Each day Joe let me know when they were packing up to depart and showed/explained to me the status of their work and what they planned for the following day. They worked incredibly hard all 5 days, plus they were very careful, thorough, and cleaned everything up at the end of each day. They performed exceptional, top quality work with great consideration for protecting my house/contents of the basement, and my landscaping during the 5-day project. Their work also comes with a lifetime-of-the-house warranty! This company is all about customer service from beginning to end, that was very obvious to me from the start. I would absolutely recommend AA Action Waterproofing - they are a 5-Star company which provides outstanding work and customer service. They truly set the example for other companies to follow!

I did not need the water proofing of my foundation. George Hoody throughly analyzed the problem and told the homeowners it is related to plumbing from sump pump to exterior. This saved me thousands of dollars. Thanks to George Hoody, the problem could be fixed by less than hundred dollars by caulking/sealing the pipe joints at the exterior of the house.

Very well. They finished everything in one week. The initial contact salesperson (Jason Ruffner) was great. He answered all my questions including when I had some during the job. The job supervisor (Rolin Marilo) was also really good and answered all of my questions so I knew what was going on each step of the way. The guys doing the work paid good attention to detail so the end result looks good. I didn't have to deal with their office that much, but when I did, they were very helpful and professional as well. Recommend highly.

Drain Pipe Installation
It was fine. They did the job in two days. We questioned if the length of the drain pipe was enough - we didn't think it was actually long enough to go around the house but they said it would be fine. That's where the problem occurred. They didn't go further around the house. They put in box drains, but now there's flooding that comes around the house from the box drains. I'm having problems with my downspout now too. There's no enough length for it to drain out to the side out the house and it's backing up and flooding at the corner of my house and on the side of my house by the last box drain. I asked them to come out and take a look. They sent out a quality control person to take a look. He told me that it's doing the job that it's supposed to do, but it would need to be extended towards the front of the yard. He gave me a quote of $4,000. We already paid $8,000 for the work. I was shocked. We had asked them 3 times if they thought the length would have been enough. The quality control person talked to his boss and brought the price down to $3000, but that's ridiculous. I went with them because of good reviews on Angie's List, but when there's a problem they won't work with you. If they would have figured it out in the first place- it would have made their estimate a lot higher and I may not have worked with them. I had gotten estimate from other people but choice them. UPDATE: 8/11/2017 The contractor has resolved the issue with the drain system. He was responsive and he resolved the issue quickly to how we wanted it fixed. He responded quickly and it says a lot for his company. He took the reviews seriously and he wanted to make sure that the customer was satisfied and it is very important to him to keep up his good reputation being in Angie's List. This says a lot about their customer service!

I could not have been more impressed with my experience with this company. Our interface over the phone was great and the onsite service provided by Jason Ruffner was par excellence. We asked AA Action Waterproofing to come by and inspect for a possible leak in our foundation. Jason drove for a good 40 minutes to get here and determined that waterproofing work on the foundation wasn't necessary, and in fact our problem was tied to drainage above ground. Here's the thing that blew me away. Once Jason advised that his services weren't required, he still took the time to thoughtfully walk my property and offer advice on above ground drainage. We did have water coming in at the base of our foundation and a less scrupulous company could have easily convinced us that expensive sealing work was required. Instead, Jason pointed us in the direction of runoff remediation---and did so without even charging us. I was embarrassed about the amount of time he spent without and opportunity to be paid for his services and offered compensation, but he politely declined. These folks are professional, punctual, square with you, honest, and above exemplary. I generally don't bother to provide online reviews or answer surveys but this was one instance that demanded it. If you need foundation work done, you won't have to call anyone else. They're great.

Called AA Action Waterproofing on Friday, 5/26/17, and spoke to Rhonda Plaine, Sales & Service Coordinator, to make an appointment. I was scheduled for the very next week, June 1st, to meet with "Angelo" to perform an estimate of the work to be done. I found "Angelo" to be very knowledgeable, and he made his advice easy to understand. We set up a date of June 6th to have the work completed. "Joe," the foreman, and his work-crew of 2 other men arrived at my home on 6/6 at 8:45 AM, and they were quick to begin their exterior excavation work. At the minimum, all 3 men dug to a depth of 8 inches below the outside foundation footer and sealed the exterior wall cracks. My inside cellar walls were scraped, cleaned and caulked. Then, a Zoeller sump pump was installed in the floor. The crew made efficient use of their time, and in just 2 hours their work was done; they departed at 11 AM. Without question, working with AA Action Waterproofing was a positive experience that all began when "Rhonda" answered the telephone (instead of getting someone's voicemail). You get the sense that "their team" really want to help you, at a reasonable price, and still stand behind their work with their warranty. Do yourself a favor and stay with a winner!

Angelo came to the house to recommend the service provided and how it would be covered by financing. It was expected to be up to three days; it took two. The guys who did the work covered parts of the basement with plastic and moved a lot of items behind the plastic to keep the dust from removing concrete from the floor and the dirt below it from settling on things. The cover was placed on the wall, the floor was repaired, the windows have tubes under them to keep them from leaking - everything went great. The only issue that we had was a counter table which was moved to dig the trench was moved in front of the washer and dryer, It's probably easy for 3 guys in their 20s and 30s to move it, but a couple in their 50s had to move it back, and it was very hard to put it back. I would recommend a followup to check on situations like that.
