I need to also mention the structural project mentioned above was identified by John when arrived at my home to scope out his work. This was not something he did or could do, but he noticed I had a major beam in the ceiling that was broken and recommended I get some to look at it BEFORE I did anything. I don't even think I had signed with him yet. When I saw it and had a structural engineer come in to investigate it was a MAJOR issue. I have to mention this because there are not a lot of contractors that I've met that are willing to DELAY their work for the client to address another project. I thought this was worth noting. The delivery guy Frank arrived on time the day we planned 1/14/03 and dropped off all of the materials required for the installation. shortly after he arrived the installation crew led by Chang (?) very friendly, polite and professional guys. They placed drop cloths on the floor at the front door and carried all of their materials up to the 3rd floor. John arrived on day one introduced me to crew and walked Chang through the project as he envisioned it happening. These guys worked nonstop for 3 full days. John told me the project should not take more than 4 days. On day 4 the guys were trying to get the ducts in some of the intricate corners of my home and it was getting late into the evening like 5:30pm. Chang came to me as said he needed to stay late maybe another 2-3 hours and asked if it was ok because he wanted to finish that day. I didn't mind. so I said sure. Shortly after that he came back to me and said he called the office and they are going to send some more people to help him. A few minutes later 2 more guys came in and 30-45 minutes later the team was done. Key Points -They did exactly what they said they were going to do. -They started on time and ended as expected -They cleaned up when done leaving little to no mess - They were professional - They provided a 10 page list of references - They provided guarantees of the work and system - They openly communicate with you to let you know what's happening (Mainly for the inspections)

Estimate seemed really expensive but there was little choice in companies who offered this High Velocity air conditioning for older smaller houses. This system saves a ton on space and is super efficient and COLD!! Costs less to run than two window units. Which definitely surprised me. I accepted estimate and scheduled an install time that had to be scheduled way out because company was so busy. Company ended up trying to reschedule and reschedule but eventually a date was secured. It was hot in August and the crew was a little discombobulated. At least 3 of the crew were boys who didn't seem to have much "work" experience and did silly things like lay the Exchange in the attic on top of wiring to create a pinch, step through the lathe ceiling and run the wire in the basement like there were no wiring running standards. The outside unit was a serious challenge to get level for some reason. I think because the young man didn't level the area first. I guess he hoped he could skip that?? and no one would notice? Silly details like this that you would expect if you hired your high school aged reluctant son of a neighbor. I was able to catch all of these issues and the team was very responsive. Silo covered the cost and repair for the ceiling. The crew leader fixed the pinched wires. I insisted that the outside unit become level and I coached the wire running lad. The main contact for the job forgot to order the filter that went with a component of the system. But he was able to locate one after a week and installed it. Over all I was surprised at the level of experience and professionalism but I was very glad for the final product. I would recommend them and use them again. I would make sure that I had an eagle eye on the crew's work. Maybe the lead crew should have supervised better? I did have to vacuum dust and wipe down walls where hand prints and smudges from the drilling happened. I also have to sand down where the hole drilling broke off more plaster from the lathe than was necessary and the crew hand mudded in plaster to patch.

We received several quotes and were expected the high velocity system to be very expensive. However, the quote was actually competitive with a standard system due to the expense of adding ductwork to our old and oddly laid out house. They were able to start the work within a few weeks and it took less than one week to complete. We were pleasantly surprised by the lack of mess in the house. During the week it was installed, their work was unobtrusive. No cleanup was required either during or after installation. Our summer cooling bills are now lower without the window units and running the fan with our radiator heating results in a more evenly heated house in the winter, which was an unanticipated benefit.

In a timely manner they called to reschedule the appointment. The annual gas furnace maintenance was conducted. I gave permission to perform a water heater safety check. I am completely satisfied with the work

John, our sales consultant, visited us promptly after we expressed interest in the high velocity air conditioning system. He was extremely thorough in evaluating our technical needs for the system and appeared to have substantial experience in retrofitting older homes with air conditioning systems. His assessment of our needs was superior and more thoughtful than those of other companies of which we requested an estimate. John carefully selected the technicians for our installation based on the complexity of our layout. The project was scheduled within a reasonable time period and the technicians arrived as promised. They worked diligently and kept a predictable work schedule for the duration of the project, despite working during August heat. They were very professional, consulting us appropriately on decisions about where to place ducts and equipment in our home, giving us options where they could. The technicians were extremely neat in their work, minimizing debris and cleaning up at the end of each workday. John, our sales consultant, visited daily to ensure that the job was progressing as planned. He also gave us a recommendation for a carpenter who could make a window seat to cover the large duct required on the third floor. We were extremely pleased with the system and have been using it regularly. The only area in which I was not as pleased with the company's services was their scheduling of post-installation testing and customer orientation. The office staff proved frustrating to work with in scheduling post-installation visits, expecting me to schedule appointments with limited notice without asking for my availability or demonstrating respect for my schedule. This is an area for improvement for the company.

Chun (sp?) and Mike excellent workers. Chun in charge of job - extemely conscientious, professional & goes above & beyond. Very clean - system great. A little louder than I expected... but otherwise - great!

I thought that they use the most scientific and technologically advanced systems that I have ever known of. They are extremely professional and were magicians in hiding all of the duct work. They cleaned up and left no mess at all. They were very fast and once they started the job they finished it in two days. It was all new duct work which is their specialty, and it works flawlessly.

Company was non-responsive to a request for proposal for HVAC. Did not return email or telephone calls.

Great. The representative came to the house to meet with me, examine and take measurements of the space, explain the system, and answer any questions. The scheduled around my schedule. Their guys were clean, professional, courteous. They finished the job within the timeframe that was negotiated. Their representative followed up with me to ensure all was satisfactory. During the process he answered all of my questions as they came up.

They were to come out and look to see if my furnace could be moved to the attic. Someone did come out, by the name of Mike. He told me he would get me the quote the following morning. It has now been 2 weeks and I have not gotten a quote and have called 3 times. Someone finally called me to ask me about putting a high velocity system in of $15,000, but never gave me a quote for what we discussed.

THIS WAS THE BEST GROUP OF TECHNICIANS THAT WE HAVE EVER HAD DO WORK IN ANY OF OUR HOUSES. THEY WERE FAST, CLEAN AND THE FINAL PRODUCT WAS BETTER THAN PROMISED.
