GREAT work, GREAT quality, GREAT price, GREAT communication!! Not only did I get a beautiful new roof. I got new gutters, downspouts, shutters and 10 windows and 2 doors capped. Steve Wiley was easy to work with and I highly recommend him and his team at House Transformers, Inc.

They did a great job for me

I guess the company to replace gutters, wrap the exterior of my bay window, and replace the three windows that make up the bay window. The initial work to replace the windows caused damage to my walls and the workers did not bring it to my attention. Instead a hole was left in the drywall when they left. When I brought it to the company's attention, they sent workers out to repair it. They did not replace the drywall but instead filled the space with a putty-like material and painted a darker color than the walls. Again I complained and another person was sent to repair. They painted over the putty in a matching color and said that the drywall could not be replaced because it was on a corner. I would categorize the overall work as novice. I intended to hire this company for my roof and deck; however, I'm concerned that I would not be able to see the work for myself to know if it was of any better quality. Despite the kindness of the company representative who came to my house with the worker, I would not hire this company again.

The two employees for the company conducted themselves in a purely professional manner. Hard to find this type of dedicated employee with total concern for the customer and the work they do. However, when it rained the roof leaked and when I called they were back within the hour to search out the leak in the rain.

Very professional company. They kept the debris from reaching the neighbors property. They cleaned up my property without having to come back. This is rare in this day and age. I will hire them to do my other property.

The day before they were supposed to start I received an email stating that they made a mistake on the square footage of the roof and the estimate would now be 1/3 more than what was quoted. Apparently they only use the satellite program to confirm the roof size once they get the job. Since their price was still somewhat cheaper than another quote, I proceeded after I verified that the new measurements were accurate. The job took 3-1/2 days instead of two (I guess because the roof was larger than they estimated). I would have given four stars but for the mistake in the estimate. I took off another half star because the clean up could have been better (still some debris and nails turning up even after 3 weeks now). I took off another half star because they were supposed to come back and paint some flashing black but they have not done so and it has been about 3 weeks now. Their abilities seem better on the back end (labor and machinery) than on the front end (sales and customer service). They appear to need more help in that department. In the end, the did get the job done and if the shingles do end up "settling" over time I will be happy with the project.

Update: Merchant eventually repaired the damage, and appears to be holding up. Not as smooth experience as I had hoped, however in the end it appears they came through. Quote and install went well, although we were told they have four of their own crews that perform the work,it appears the crew that did the installation was subcontracted. 24hrs after the install, neighbor's siding started peeling because it was not put back in place properly during the installation of the flashing with the neighbors adjacent roof/wall. (townhome) An in-house crew appeared within 48 hours to perform the original repair which was to improperly nail the siding back in the middle of a siding panel. Needless to say, nails popped within 24hours and may have damaged the siding. My neighbor is upset, we have been told on 3 different occasions a repair crew would be out (warm/clear weather), it is now snowing with additional damage to more vinyl panels and trim and looking at nearly $1000 of damage according to a 3rd party that has looked at the damage. Noise is keeping multiple families and a baby awake. Pictures and videos have been sent to merchant. Still waiting for a resolution from Transformers. They do have a work warranty and a 48 response promise, however thus far (nearly 2 weeks since the issue has been communicated) it does not appear to have materialized as promised. Buyer beware. Will try to provide an update when/if this issue is resolved.
