Don Hoffacker’s Air Conditioning & Heating

My home A/C system was blowing warm air. After calling three other repair companies, this company (Don Hoffacker's) had best price (flat-rate instead of an hourly rate) and a high rating on Angies List. I called this repair company at 9AM and had a repair tech out at my house by 3PM -very good considering the 90 deg. weather this week. The tech was early, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Within an hour and a half, he had my A/C working again. No unnecessary parts replacemed, no wasted time, and no overcharges. Great job Don Hoffackers! You have a great tech working for you too.

We got three estimates for replacing our heating and air condidtioning system. While their price was comparable to another highly rated (Angies list) company we went with Don Hoffackers because the person who did the estimate was the most responsive to my husbands questions. He was also able to fully explain the variations between the systems and what we could expect with regards to performance. We got the system installed just before the heat wave hit and are thrilled with how well it works. Ive already recommended the company to two friends.

The company looked at my unit on 6/11/10 because my system was not working correctly (again). The unit was not holding refrigerant again (I'd been through the same thing last summer), so I decided that I would replace it. Luckily, they had an opening on the following Monday (6/14). They were late showing up, but did a good job once they got here. They also removed and replaced the fencing that was around the unit. They removed some insulation that they did not replace and they left some debris, but overall, it was a good experience and the new system is working fine so far.

I contacted DON HOFFACKER'S AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING based upon positive reviews in Angie's List and then hired them (for the service contract) based upon responsiveness and competitive pricing. Todd from DON HOFFACKER'S AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING came out to perform the first inspection. He arrived during the two-hour window quoted, put on booties when requested, performed the inspection of both heat pumps, and told me what he was doing the entire time. When he wasn't reviewing what he was doing or providing me with information about the equipment (I was curious... I had not had central a/c before), he was telling me about the company, the employees, and how happy he was there. He gave the two systems generally a clean bill of health. Despite their age (1992 and 2002), he said they were fine and there was no use in replacing anything until they broke down. He did recommend cleaning the cooling coils of the primary unit and had me take a look at the coils. I went ahead w/ the coil cleaning and Rick came out. Again, he was on time, put on booties as requested, was professional, and I generally stayed out of his way while he worked. He checked the outdoor unit for freon and leaks and said all was fine. The system performance was impeded by the length of the lines, but there was not much that could be done about that. He recommended changing out the manufacturer-provided air filters, which he said were no longer effective and why the coils needed cleaning, with ones from Filtrete or Honeywell. I'm looking into doing that now... All in all, a good experience.

They were fine. They came on a Sunday and I needed the air conditioner to work so the price was fine. They came when they said they were going to come and they did the work. It is still working. They were very responsive and professional.

The technician, Tim, called an hour before the scheduled appointment to ask if he could come early. For a person who is a stickler when it comes to scheduling and being on time, I was more than happy to began the inspection early. Tim was very friendly and knowledgable. He was able to explain the problems and th recommended solutions. He also shared some tips and references for other work plumbing, flooring, drywall that has to be done on the house. I was very pleased with the service.

I called them in the morning an appointment was set for the afternoon. I let them know I needed 30 minutes advanced notice so I could get there on time. This was not problem. The tech Brian arrived on time and quickly found that I had a faulty compressor. He explained signed to look for when it is going bad. Also he performed a check on freon and cables all the time explaining what he was doing and his findings. I found Brian curtious, polite and informative. I would highly recommend them. Even thought my unit is 13 years old there was not sales pitch which I appreciated.

Our central air stopped working over the weekend. I called this morning and they had someone out in the afternoon. Don arrived and quickly determined the issue and gave a quote before doing any work. Turns out the capacitor had blown due to age and wear. Part was replaced and entire AC was checked. Service was exceptional and honest. We will use them again with no question

Fine. He was punctual, efficient and courteous. He told me that the package saved me a certain amount on the coolant due to the discount. He also advised me to periodically blow out the heat pump surfaces with a hose. I was satisfied with the service, would use them again (including the already planned maintenance visit in the fall), and thought the package was a reasonably good deal.

They were fantastic. They are a great company. They charged $5600 for heat pump. They were very responsive and punctual. I will use them again in the future.

They were very prompt, courteous, and professional. I don?t have anything to compare the price to.

We use them a lot and we have had good interactions with them. They haven't always solved our problems but they are the ones that came the closest. They foresee it and they seem very fair in their pricing and respond very quickly. They are good but not perfect. They did our furnace and they fixed our air-conditioning a number of times. They said the air-conditioner was working fine when they came out to service it. It did work fine but now it's breaking. The air-conditioner is more than 20 years old, so to be fair we might need it replaced or maybe add more Freon. They are coming tomorrow again. The price was minimal and what you would expect it to be as it was just a service call. They have always responded promptly. When they put the furnace in a few years ago, they did it well and reliably. They tested everything and identified a problem that we didn't know we had. They were very fair in their pricing and prompt. So we have faith in them. They haven't been bad but they haven't always solved a problem and they haven't always been that helpful, not in a mean way but just because they couldn't figure it out. I think they are fair but I wouldn't say they are fantastic. We just did hire them again. They are coming tomorrow.

While getting estimates for the work, Hoffacker's was timely and responsive. They reviewed the various options with me as far as brands of units and the associated pricing, and were very straightforward and professional about what brand of unit would work for our home. Out of three bids, Hoffacker's happened to be the lowest. The work was performed quickly and professionally in the time frame promised. I would not hesitate to call them again.

I used them before for heating. They were every professional and came on time. They checked with us each step of the way for what they were doing. It is always expensive to have work done on heating and air conditioning plus I had to have them come on a Saturday.

Amazing. They visited us the same day that we called and not only solved the problem but also provided maintenance guidelines and tips to enabe us to minimize addtl service calls. He didn't even mind the two dogs barking at him whie he worked on the AC!

A professional and experienced team completed the install with minimal interruption. The company was prompt, courteous, and most importantly, high quality. You get what you pay for. Not the cheapest, but they are the best.

I had a bad experience with this company in fixing our A/C. The technical person came in and told me there is no Freon in air-conditioner (we know this), charged me $89.00. I ask where the linking is and, he said if he checks the problem he will charge another $152.00. The $89.00 is just for showing up. Not for checking the linking problem. This is a rip-off and I would strongly not recommend using this company

THis company has to be the best around town and the greater area. I could not be happier.
