Normandy Carpet

It was easy and everything we expected it to be.  All of our expectations were met.

I've tried many highly rated companies for carpet and specialty rug cleaning as well as upholstery cleaning.  Normandy is, in my experience, the best across the board.  I've used them at least 10 times.  They are prompt, reasonably priced, professional and done an outstanding job in all areas.  I have had them clean very expensive area rugs such as a custom-made Tibetan, and they did a wonderful job.  I'd highly recommend them--I will never use anyone else.  I've lived in five houses in DC over the years and were consistently an A+.

We have always used them and they are currently working now so that when we get our clients we could let them in.

They are very polite, the price is good. When they were running late the first time I used them they gave me a call to let me know and gave me a discount on the price.

Overall I was satisfied with the services provided and would hire them again.

One of the most unprofessional companies I have dealth with.  Exceedingly frustrating experience.  Don't waste your time or effort and go elsewhere.

They also removed my old rug pads and provided new ones.  They kept my carpets for almost 2 months while I was selling my home, and they stored them without a fee.  Then they returned them to my new apartment without a murmur.  They did a good job of cleaning them, and they look wonderful.  They even trimmed the fringe that had been damaged at another time, so that it was unnoticeable.  The charge for cleaning was considerably less than another company that I'd spoken with.

Victor and Luis were on time. The dining room chairs did not come very clean, but I don't blame them for this as I let them go too long. They do look better than they were, and I can live with them a while longer until I reupholster them. The couch and rug look great. My only gripe is with one of the upholstered armchairs. The seat cushion is removable, and Victor and Luis rested the wet cushion on the wooden chair arms to dry. This caused water damage to the wooden arms that I did not notice until after they left. Other than this, they did a nice job cleaning up after themselves, the service was professional, and they did a lot for the price.I will use Normandy again, but will be watching a little more closely how they place things to dry.

Went very well. Cleaner late to appointment due to equipment problems. Called before appointment and explained the problem and kept us informed of progress. When they arrived cleaner provided a discount because of the inconvenience.

They arrived on time. The "boss" had cleaned my carpets two years before. I showed him the areas to clean. He wrote up his bill and I agreed to the price. He and his helper cleaned the carpets and couches in very efficient time. The work looked good.

The experience went quite well. They arrived on time (even a bit early) and they were very helpful in working with me to set a realistic time frame for them to come (and me to wait). The two men worked quickly and did a professional job. They were very courteous. They cleaned up well after themselves and explained what they did. They were easy to work with and very professional.

Excellent job. Very professional; cost what they said it would and didn't try to overwhelm us with extras. Will use them again for sure.

Excellent service. They got great results on a sisal rug and also cleaned an oriental rug for me. I was very happy with the work and with the operation overall.

I called one week before many guests arrived for a graduation party. Normandy agreed to clean the downstairs wall-to-wall (or as much of it as could be reached without swinging from the rafters to clear the obstacle course of boxes from my son's recently vacated apartment). This carpet was filthy and stained. Normandy did a great job. The very helpful receptionist at Normandy had warned me that the Orientals really needed to be brought in for thorough cleaning, but she agreed to arrange for a "light" cleaning in home. The service guys did a fabulous job--and for some pittance, I should add. Very impressive work.

I spoke with a very pleasant scheduler at their company. They came when promised, pleasant, competent. Did excellent job of cleaning carpets using hoses from truck.

The service call was scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at 2 PM. We spent several hours on Friday preparing the rooms for cleaning and made arrangements to stay at a hotel overnight Saturday to avoid disturbing the carpet as it dried. At about noon, the service crew left a voice mail on our answering machine (we were out of the house at the time) saying that their truck had broken down and we'd have to call to arrange another service date. At aboput 12:30 we called the phone number for the main office and spoke with a "manager on duty" (Tom) who was very sympathetic to the problem his crew had created for us and promised to try to get another crew out ASAP. Tom called back later to say that the earliest a crew could some would be Monday afternoon. We were very annoyed but decided to go ahad with our plan for a night at a hotel since it was not cancellable at that point. On Monday a crew came at the appointed time and did a very slipshod job cleaning the carpet. This crew did not move most of the furniture to clean under it, despite our calling Tom again and his speaking with the crew. He promised us a substantial discount (turned out to be 15%). After the crew left, we found that they still had not moved the furniture. We again called Tom and reported the very unsatisfactory work. Tom promised another crew would return on Tuesday and complete the work correctly. On Tuesday a new crew came and did excellent work. They moved all of the furniture and reported to us that the previous crew had not really moved the furniture but had only put it up on foam blocks. The second crew was very polite and efficient and did an excellent job. Tom was very helpful but ineffectual in geting his crew(s) to do the work we had scheduled. Only the third crew was on time and effective. If you are willing to take a 1 out of 3 chance that you'll get a good crew, then I guess you can consider this company. I would not hire them again.

If I had known that the rugs could get this clean again, I would have done it sooner. The stairway was really sad looking. Our bedroom carpet is white...what was I thinking. Mostly it was wear and tear rather than stains. I called to make an appointment on Tuesday. The woman was really nice and reminded me to get their coupon off the website. They were scheduled to come Wednesday between 11 and 1. At 1:20 I called the company and found out they were on their way. Since they gave me an appointment so quickly I could hardly find fault. The guys who came were professional and knowledgeable. They moved furniture and put plastic under furniture legs. I think the price was fair. It is .39/sq ft of wall to wall carpet, .75/sq ft of an area rug and the coupon was for $25.

The work went well. They did what I asked them to do. The price was very reasonable and they were easy to work with and I would hire them again in the future.
