It went fine. Their overall service is good but I don't care for the way they do customer service. They use their call center function. It is automated and you don't get to talk to the people you want to. They were highly professional. They treated me the way I would expect to be treated as a customer.

Way too expensive. I priced the cost of a replacement valve on line. I was charged way beyond this. Never go the Angie's list refund

John was great. Was on time, very knowledgeable, efficient and above all trustworthy. Explained what he was doing, what potential problems in the future could be. Overall a great experience. Great company.

Fine- main thing that was helpful was that we learned our water pressure was way too high. Service provider was very professional.

Very prompt and professional service. The house we just bought had a non-working gas fireplace. The tech identified and resolved the issue to our satisfaction. We had bought the $99 gas fireplace inspection coupon which was used towards the service.

Over the summer they did an awesome job on my A/C. I had them come and take a look at my furnace because it does not seem to work with my thermostat. They arrived at the time of the appointment and stated they cannot help my problem because the thermostat is pedco thermostat. They then left and sent me a bill for $125.00 but completed no service at the time of the appointment. I called and tried to resolve this and did not help. They stated they did a diagnostic. This was not accurate they said "we cannot touch this" at the time of the appointment.

Everything went very well from start to finish. Tom S. did the repair, and he did an excellent job! The leak was due to my negligence; I didn't open the vacuum breaker before the very cold weather arrived. I did all of the other steps: I turned off the water supply, opened the hose bibb, and opened the bleed orifice. Fortunately, I did all of the steps on the other hose bibb, and there's no leaks connected with that one. Missing one step spells DISASTER. In 2002, James A. Wheat & Sons re-piped my entire house, using copper piping; they replaced the disgusting polybutylene piping my builder used in 1984, which had more leaks than any house should endure. Tom S. repaired one of those leaks in 2002, just before I signed the contract for James A. Wheat & Sons to re-pipe my house with the good stuff--copper pipes. They did a super job! As I mentioned, Tom S. did an excellent job. I thought it was pretty cool that my entire service record with this company was displayed in his hand-held computer pad. I would definitely hire them again!

I was offered a coupon on Angie's list which I purchased, but then the contractor advised me that I was not in their service area. Angie's list refunded the purchase. The overall rating was not based on my experience with the contractor, but with the aggravation of being offered a coupon for a service that could not be delivered.

I got a call the day before the visit with an accurate and small window for when to expect the technician. Remesh showed up on time and was very friendly and knowledgeable. I know absolutely zero about gas fireplaces, and he showed me how to use the fireplace, how to use the various electronic features, and pointed out that one of the logs was cracked in half and was leading to some sooting. He checked availability on the replacement log and gave me a quote for replacing it that was high, but after doing some shopping around is very fair. Those stupid logs are extremely expensive for any source. I'm holding off on replacing the log until I see how frequently we end up using the fireplace, but will probably contact this company to do the repair.

Multiple crews (5 trucks) were sent to get the job done in a single day. Excellent workmanship. The new systems fit perfectly with the existing ducting. Excellent job.

Waited to see it was working it would for 20 minutes, so they knew it was working correctly.

Gave us antwo hour window for arrival the day prior and arrived promptly on the day of service. The problem was not immediately identifiable and the two men worked skillfully and efficiently to locate the source of the problem. They were professional and thorough in their work.

I found this company through Angie's List. We were pleased with their service. Received phone call regarding arrival time. He was on time. He answered all our questions. We would use this company again. As well as recommend them to others.

I was very pleased with the services. The Technician explained the cleaning process step by step and also explained the functionality of each part that was removed and cleaned. He was very neat and efficient and very careful not to damage or disrupt any of the surroundings. I will definitely use this vendor again! The cost of the services was $99.00. I made an additional purchase of some embers that really set a perfect fireplace scene.

Wheat and Sons was able to schedule a visit for my requested time. They were prompt and communicative. They performed the work as advertised. My only complaint was they provided little additional information about my options going forward. The gas fireplace turned out to be a "no vent" system, despite being installed in a fireplace. I asked about ability to install a "vented" fireplace. They said I would need to verify the gas line pressure for a vented system, which can have higher pressure requirements. There was no effort to explore this further, to see where my pressure was at currently and how/if I could get to where I needed to be for different system. I suppose they were more interested in handing this type of work off to a different service provider.

First calling the company started things on a path that only became more and more wonderful. The person making the appointment was very friendly, professional and warm. She managed to get technicians here very quickly. They arrived ready to roll. They kept us informed as to everything they were doing and explained each process as well. Once they did their diagnostics, they informed us of the condition of the system itself and referred us to a sales rep. He came the next day and again took time to inspect the system we have and then sat down and talked numbers as well as the systems they have. He was honest in every way in terms of comparing prices and the individual systems on what we could expect in terms of performance and longevity. I wouldn't want to go to any other company. Their number one priority is the customer and making sure they fully understand everything and are very eager to answer any and all questions. This also included financing should we need to go that route. This kind of service is not always found today. It's always refreshing to come across a company such as this.

The tech that came to our home was professional and very knowledgeable. He was very sincere and honest about the service provided and what his suggestions were for the future. Their service is pricey but you will be paying for excellent work and service.

He prerformed all the services quickly and explained everything he was doing to me. I felt that he did a very thorough job and the cost was very reasonable.

He was great! He knew what he was doing, was in and out quickly.

It quickly became obvious to us that the technician's aim was to sell us a new air-cond system. He told us that our house was hot even though it was cool. It was the "believe me or believe your own lying eyes" phenomenon. When we asked about the price of refrigerant, he told us it cost about $500 per lb. That turned out to be hogwash as we later found out. The technician was basically dishonest. I would discourage people from using this company.

They came and did their repair and they said I can sign up for one year of free maintenance and inspection. I used it twice and both the times I did not have anybody come and do inspection which was part of the deal. Recently I did ask them to come on a specific date and they came but at a wrong time because I had asked them to come at 12 o'clock and they came at 10 o'clock and then I told them to come back at 12 o'clock and they refused. I'm paying them one year worth of maintenance service contract fee but it just went down the drain because they did not even come a single time to do anything and even I tried calling them and they did not come and do it.

The company performed a tune up of the AC and noted that we needed four (4) pounds of Freon. We declined the Freon top off at the time. Two days later, sparks shot up from the compressor and we called them back. Several frayed wires had not been properly secured and had been struck by the fan. They attempted to charge us for the repair but we resisted and they courteously did not charge us. I am writing this report because two years later, we had our AC serviced by another company and the technician told us only one half (0.5) pound of Freon was needed, not four pounds as we were previously told. I am extremely disappointed in James A Wheat & Sons Inc and will not use them again.

Great special $99 to clean and adjust my gas fireplace. Service was excellent and I'd use them again.
