Marc Burkett was the technician who helped me. He was knowledgeable about both gutters and roofs, which helped me understand the work that needed to be done and why. Mark was timely both in arriving and in completing his work, was professional, and I was happy with his work. The tune-up itself was done well, but was not hugely complicated as the work required goes beyond just the gutters. I will be working with Home Contractors to get an estimate regarding the more involved work as well based on my experience with Marc.

Howard Shires from American Home Contractors went up in my attic and told me about the insulation and what I should do about it in the future to let the attic breathe better. The attic had old insulation around the outer perimeter which he says should be removed. He showed me where the roof was leaking around the chimney. He also checked the fasteners for all of the gutters and informed me about the board that the gutters fasten to which were split. He wasn't able to fix any of the issues today but was able to recommend a company who could fix the gutters for me as well as the boards that they fasten to. He didn't charge for the service visit since there wasn't any work that could be done the same day. I highly recommend American Home Contractors for any roof and attic inspection needs.

They took too long for the job, I have to cancel it and found another provider.

The gentleman that came out was on time and very knowledgeable. He advised that I should probably replace my gutters instead of tune-up and that the tune-up would not remedy my problem. I unfortunately wasn?t prepared at that time to do the replacement and contacted Angie?s List to cancel and request for refund. The gentleman was very nice and informative and I would use them in the future.

Tyler, the young man providing the estimate, was very courteous, knowledgeable, and punctual. He climbed on the roof and performed a thorough inspection. He went over all of the details of his assessment completely and to my satisfaction. His initial estimate was higher than others, but he was willing to adjust the materials being used and negotiate the price downward in order to be competitive. I trust that his company would have performed all of the work as promised and to my complete satisfaction.

AHC was professional from start to finish. We had an estimate for a new roof and gutters from another contractor, but felt that the representative who provided the estimate wasn't really interested in helping us, but more interested in helping his company's bottom line. Tyler from AHC came out to our house for our scheduled appointment on time, even though we were running late. He was even generous enough to wait for my wife to come home (she got stuck in DC after work due to Metro delays), before going over all of the details. Tyler was thorough and detailed and was willing to answer all of our questions. Even though the estimate with AHC was slightly higher than the first contractor's estimate (only by a few hundred dollars), we decided to go with AHC. We felt that based on AHC's reviews with Angie's List, and Tyler's professionalism, it was probably worth the extra cost to have them do the install. We weren't disappointed. Tyler told us that it would take about 10 days to 2 weeks, depending on the weather, for them to come out an install the new roof and the gutter install would be a few days after the roof install. Unfortunately, the record setting 2 weeks straight of rain followed our meeting with Tyler, so the roof wasn't installed until a little over three weeks after our meeting. However, Tyler did inform us from the start of the possible delay. When AHC was ready to do the install they called several days before to let us know that they would be coming and that the supplies would be delivered the day before the actual install. Just as I was told the supplies came on a Monday. However, because of all of the rain, AHC called back to let me know that instead of coming Tuesday, they would actually be out that Wednesday to do the install, which was fine by us. The only hiccup of this entire process was when we came home from work on Monday to see that the tiles that were delivered were the incorrect color. I immediately called Tyler's cell phone and told him about the mix-up and he said that it wasn't a problem and that the correct tiles would be delivered by Wednesday, when the installers arrived. The day of the install (Wednesday), the installers arrived on time and were very courteous, and just as Tyler had promised, the correct tiles were delivered. The roof was installed in a single day and the installers cleaned up and left our house as if they were never there. The roof was beautiful and better then we hoped. After the roof was installed, I contacted AHC to get an approximate date for the gutter install. The person at AHC spoke with their manager and then informed me that typically a gutter install is only a few days after the roof install, but because of all of the rain delays, AHC had to prioritize roof installs first, but that my wait shouldn't be too long. As promised, AHC called about a week and a half later to schedule the gutter install. They came out a few days after the call, and in a single day our new gutters with gutter guards was installed. They too looked really good. With the new roof and new gutters, our house really 'pops' and looks almost brand new. My wife and I were thrilled with our experience with AHC and will definitely recommend them to others.

The technician that came out was Jonathan Ross, he was very professional and friendly. Jonathan called and verified his arrival time, which was a little earlier than the scheduled time, which worked prefect for me. He was very courteous and asked offered to put on booties so he didn't track anything in the house. He made sure I knew what he was doing and got right to work. I feel he went above and beyond what was expected. I would certainly use American Home Contractors again, and highly recommend them to anyone in need of work. Grade "A" company and people.

Technician was prompt and professional. He worked quickly and did an excellent job.

See before mention and I know it went well. This is one time that knowing makes all the difference. For example part of my rebuild deck was not even install correctly and Marc was the first person to ever tell me why (not even the inspector nor insurance company discover the issues), so that tell me that American HomeComtractors employs trained technicians.

Stephen was a wonderful technician. Showed up on time, in uniform and in a marked company vehicle. Wore shoe covers in the house. Was happy to go above and beyond the scope of duties. Took pictures and provided very detailed explanations of what he was doing and how the inspection went. No complaints. Would use this provider again.

They told me that they could not repair my roof because they said that the whole roof needed to be replaced and that they do not do the replacing for just a few shingles that needed to be replaced. They would apply the Big Deal cost if I decided to use them to fix the whole roof. The price was reasonable. I am less likely to use them again.

It was okay. They were here last year, I don't know, it was a long time ago. I was expecting that he was going to test the water and make sure it was balanced, he didn't do it.

We are scheduled for a salesperson to come out on Tuesday to give us an estimate on the service. We may need a refund on the actual cleaning or we may be able to apply it to the service. We will let Angie's list know what happens.

Tyler walked me through the options after inspecting the roof - he was patient and didn't try to pressure me into a sale. (I'll also note that his evaluation of the roof was very professional - he was frank in his assessment, without being alarmist or hinting that my health was in danger if I didn't replace the roof immediately (as another contractor did!!) - and showed me different products and explained how standards had changed since the last time I had replaced the roof.) Installation went flawlessly - the work on the roof was completed within a day; the additional insulation was completed within 2 hours. The provider did a very careful job putting tarps on the bushes and plants surrounding the house, removing walkway lights so they wouldn't be inadvertently damaged while the old roof was removed, and did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards (and re-installing the walkway lights). The Angies List deal was particularly helpful - the price was easily $10,000 to $19,000 less than other estimates I had received and without the high pressure sales pitch!

Howard and an assistant cleaned my gutters thoroughly. He checked the incline on one gutter I was particularly concerned about and said that it was at the correct angle to drain well. He also examined the wood behind the gutters and gave me an inspection report for the gutters, downspouts, and wood. He had to work without stepping on or touching my roof which is of a tile kind we have to be careful of. He slightly adjusted one or two tiles which had slipped. I was happy with the work and would use American Home Contractors and Howard again.

Mark and Jonathan provided the service. They called a few minutes before the set appt time to let me know they were on their way. In a very kind professional approach, they explained what they were going to do and updated me throughout the process. They seemed honest, knowledgeable and confident in their work. I highly recommend American Home Contractors for their quality, professionalism, and honesty.

Work was done sooner than scheduled, which was fine. Should prevent future gutter leaks at mitered corners. Worker was prompt, pleasant, and efficient. I would use them again if problems arise.

Excellent. Marc arrived promplty at the scheduled time. He introduced himself and explained what work he was going to do, confirming the price. He was polite and gave detailed explanations as to potential issues with my roof and any evidence of prior damage due to leaking. He explained problems he saw in the roof. Since the roof is 35 years old, it was no surprise to me that I need a new roof. He offered to get a technician to get an estimate and took care of it right away. Could not have asked for better service.

The service technician Stephen showed up on time. Stephen was professional and knowledgeable. He inspected the roof and attic and told us what needed to be done and it was all covered by the package we purchased through Angie's List. It was a great price for the service we received.

This was a big deal purchase. It was okay. It was a long time ago. I just remember I was not super-impressed. It was just an okay service and it seemed like he was looking for more business. Their price was average.

There was very good communication both from the office and the technician, both before and after the service. Technician called just before he arrived and was professional during the visit. He took before and after pictures and explained in detail the condition of my roof and attic, what he was going to repair, and what he recommended I have done in the future.
