We built about 4 inches from the property line to avoid the possibilities of any property line disputes. Despite our best intentions, one of our neighbors, unhappy with the idea of a fence, gave the men a really hard time; yet Steve and Shaun remained polite and did nothing to escalate the confrontation. Most impressive! Certainly commendable! While all the boards were of excellent quality with only the smallest knots, Steve was happy to have me help select the ones that would be used at the front of the house. The fact that he asked me to show him precisely where I wanted the gates to be placed was also most appreciated. Because all our glass fence post caps ordered from another company were not delivered on time, a return trip was necessary. Once again, we had an experienced installer who now finished the job. Almost. When we spotted one board that was not so terrific, John told me he would be back the following week to replace the splintered board and would bring several extra ones because he intended to check out each and every board used in our fence. The first crew installed two pet windows. Earlier in the day when John from Frederick Fence came to install the post caps, my landscapers came to work on the property. Because we have not yet put down sod on the strip of land outside of the fence, dirt blew between the fence and the plastic rim of the pet window while the leaves were being blown to the curb. John cleaned this out with a small brush and then added glue around the window so that this will no longer be a problem. Absolutely everyone at Frederick Fence has made this a positive experience. Adam, the sales rep patiently waited for me to make the final decisions on the fence style and was responsive to each email; Michael, the manager, addressed my concern I had with a gate latch that suddenly got stuck explaining these often require an adjustment after they are installed. All the men involved in putting up my fence were wonderful. They didn’t waste time. They worked quietly and neatly, left the site in a tidy state at the end of each day, and they were most pleasant. My fence also received rave reviews from four contractors who have been to my home since the fence was installed. I have a beautiful fence at what I feel is a reasonable price. Am I recommending Frederick Fence? Absolutely!!!!

great experience...was a difficult job due to the pine trees but they did an outstanding job.

Salesman was quite knowledgeable. Came out to property. Brought photos and samples of options based on our description of what we were interested in. He explained ordering time and installation time involved as well as the removal of the old fence. Measured precisely the area to be covered. Interacted with us as we made our decision and sought approvals from community. Took care of all permits. Oversaw job and checked on us afterwards. Work was efficient. Workmen polite and communicated well. Clean-up perfect. We are very pleased.

The fence is really attractive and they were able to figure out how to install it on an incline.

No problems; everything as detailed and promised.

It went very well overall except for 2 problems. First was that we couldn't get the vinyl in the same shade as the house siding, but that is apparently beyond the control or the fence company. The second was that they punctured one of the supply lines to the swimming pool. They had no way to tell exactly where the lines ran underground so it is not really their fault, but it was moderately expensive to repair. Overall we felt that Frederick Fence was professional, responsive, and fairly priced. We've been happy with our new fence.

Since I have a WSSC easement on one side of my house, a storm drain on the other, and an ICC right of way along the back of our yard, the permit process took over a month. They persisted and finally got permission from all parties. They arrived on time each day and took 3 days to construct the fence. The crew worked steadily through the rain on two of the days to get the work done on time. As far as I can tell, they did a fine job. I would definitely recommend them, as their quote for the project was lower than 4 other companies from whom I obtained estimates.

They are very prompt and reliable. They use very good quality materials. They put in bigger posts for the gates, 6x6 and that is far superior to what I had. The gate will no longer sag, it’s much stronger. There was a very bad rain and thunderstorm. We thought they would have to come back on a Monday, but they just waited it out in their trucks and the work was done in one day. I thought they went above and beyond. I would hire them again.

The workers that completed the fence did an excellent job - finished within 3 days of starting. They had to dig through numerous mounds of rock in the soil and kept my newly sodded yard in very good condition. This is extremely hard to do with heavy machinery. I didn't like one area of the fencing, so they came back within the week that it was complete and fixed it for me. In addition, I had the deck completed - again the crew did an excellent job digging through the soil without ruining my grass. I also asked that they put all their wood on axles, so it wouldn't be laying on my grass. They did this for me. The deck did fail inspection twice, but they were prompt shortly after the inspection and fixed it and it did pass. Also, although I was expected by the contract to pay when services were completed I did not pay the last 1/3 of my deck or fence until the deck passed final inspection. They understood and happily complied. The only downside was during this construction the company was in MD and I live in VA - due to traffic they would arrive a little later and leave earlier. This probably made the job slightly longer, but it was still done to my satisfaction. Its been almost 6 months since the deck and fence were installed and we have had no issues.

They did an excellent job. Louise, who comes out to do the estimates was very helpful, and had great ideas. Their price was appreciably lower than their major competitor, who we also got an estimate from. The workmanship was fine and they showed up on time. We had to do a change and they were very responsive in dealing with that change. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

Excellent - they came on time and performed the work well. Our only complaints are that they uprooted a few shrubs without checking with us first, and they did not clean up debris as thoroughly as we would have liked.

Because I chose another company to work with, I cannot comment on the quality of work. I did visit the showroom and had a sales rep come to my house to provide an estimate. The sales rep was very professional, found property line stakes, and placed flags to show where the fence would be placed. Showed his experience by recommending where and what type of gate should be placed, and covered pros and cons of alternatives. I was impressed and would have gone with them had I not received another estimate that came in considerably lower. A good contractor to speak with nevertheless. Estimated cost was $6,000.

I thought the fence company did an excellent job with our fence. They did a clean job and didn't even hurt any of my plants, which was important to me. They arrived when scheduled, and even though it was snowing, they completed the job within two days. I had bid out the job to three companies and they were in the middle for pricing although I don't recall the exact price at this time.

Excellent. Frederick Fence did a free, detailed, written estimate and contract within a few days of my call. They completed the job within 3 weeks, as they indicated on the contract. They did a great job and cleaned up all debris.

THE INSTALLER (A SUBCONTRACTOR HIRED BY FREDERICK FENCE) ARRIVED LATE ON THE DAY OF THE INSTALL DUE TO A FLAT TIRE ON HIS TRAILER. ONCE THERE, HE QUICKLY SET TO WORK AND CALLED ME 4 HOURS LATER TO SAY HE WAS ALMOST COMPLETED. WHEN I GOT HOME THAT DAY, HE WAS STILL THERE AND POINTED OUT HOW HIS POST HOLE DIGGER HIT THE POOL'S ELECTRIC LINE. I HAD TO BEAR THE EXPENSE TO HAVE AN ELECTRICIAN REPAIR THE LINE. (I SUPPOSE IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO MARK WHERE THE ELECTRIC LINE WAS..) YOU LIVE AND LEARN. OVERALL, HE DID A GREAT, QUALITY JOB ON THE FENCE.
