Description of Work: I was notified of the appointment to prune trees and apply anti-fungal weeks ahead of the appointment. I did not have to be home. They did not accept any money before the job was done. When I called in mid-afternoon on the day of the appointment to see if they had been there, they were already done. The yard was left clean -- no branches or leaves from the pruning remained.

Description of Work: slow release deep root fertilization. Back up office folks are great. The rep, Brian Rhoten, that came out to our property to survey our tree's situation was a little stilted - somewhat arrogant. But the work was performed by one of their crews as expected and we have scheduled further topical spraying of our ash trees starting in the spring. I have used another Bartlett Tree service center out of Gaithersburg in Md for the same ash tree problems (different trees on a different property, and found them to be quite good.

Description of Work: Two very large honey locusts trees were pruned. Low limbs over driveway were removed and all dead, diseased and broken branches throughout crown were removed to improve health and appearance.The guys were fantastic! All debris was cleaned up throughout the front yard. You hardly knew they had been there. Neighbors even commented what a professional job they did. In addition, I asked about a small tree in my yard and mulching it. One of the tree man showed me how mulch should be around a tree and even scraped away tiny roots that had developed due to incorrect mulching. They worked quickly but efficiently, were very professional and polite. Am having them return in late fall/early winter to remove a large tree in the backyard that has been dying.

 + -1 moreA long time ago got estimates for tree cutting/removal but found A Year Round's prices too high for that. We have been using A Year Round Tree for spraying for at least 10 years. A contract is always sent in advance, with a discount for paying in advance. They show up as scheduled, do the work, and leave a flag so we know spraying has been done. After we lost a couple of white pines to the pine borer, we had A Year Round Tree spray for that. However, at the advice of another arborist, we discontinued that treatment - were told it wouldn't really protect and probably was unnecessary. Time will tell.
Description of Work: Annual spraying of hemlock tree against wooly adelgid.

 + -1 moreI have a 50 foot London plane tree in my small backyard. It was covered with ivy. They came out and trimmed the ivy. The process is called girdling the tree. They cut about a foot all around the ivy. This killed everything above and they could manage the roots. Then, they trimmed the tree. This was not easy for them. Also, a branch had fallen on my house, owing to a storm. Subsequently, I had them do feeding once. They weren?t responsive that time. There was a mix with the scheduling. They didn?t show up on the day they were scheduled to come out. I chose them because they were recommended by somebody in the construction business. My tree looks great now. I?ll hire them back.
Description of Work: I have used Bartlett Tree Experts to do some tree maintenance. They did trimming and feeding, 4-5 years ago. They also trimmed a smaller yew tree in the front.

Description of Work: They trimmed our redtips which have been overgrown for years and line our driveway. They trimmed about 8' off the top and trimmed the sides that line the driveway.

 + -1 moreThe company waited til the weather was clear and dry so as not to cause any damage to our neighbor's yard and even then they laid down wooden tracks for the large crane needed to take down most of the wood. Even though much of it was in very good shape they left the wood as we requested. They were careful not to damage anything in our yard or our neighbor's yard and did an excellent job of cleaning up afterward. Great job!
Description of Work: They took down a very large double oak that was located in a far corner of our yard, located between our shed and our neighbor's shed. In addition, they were to stack the large wood pieces, if possible, but clean out and remove any branches. This had to be done from our neighbor's yard, but the wood lifted over the fence to be stacked in our yard (a friend was going to come and cut it up and take it away to use to heat their home).

 + -1 moreI had received complaints from a neighbor about the tree hanging over the property line. Steve was very understanding about my need to trim the tree away from my neighbor's property, but not trim it so that it damaged the natural form of the tree. Every time he has done a wonderful job. The tree looks trimmed but not bald and leafless. I would suggest that if you make an initial call and do not hear back promptly, don't hesitate to call again. He is busy, but makes time in his schedule for special needs. He is well worth the second call.
Description of Work: I have had Steve prune a lovely Bradford Pear tree in my small (townhouse) front yard at least three times over the past six years. He has always done a beautiful job and cleaned up completely afterwards. The rest of the yard is undisturbed and no debris is left behind.

 + -1 moreOne of the trees had grown over the garage and the other was getting tangled in phone lines. They had to use a cherry picker to get to the larger of the two trees. That is where we incurred some of the cost, for them bringing in equipment. I do feel they were reasonable and comparable to what others would charge.
