I requested an appointment online one evening and was called back the next morning. I was given a complete picture of how this company charges-by the hour with a minimum-for any work they do, and offered a broad time frame since I wasn't sure how if I would need more than 2 hours of work done. I liked the fact that they did "odd job" type work as well as traditional handyman work as I needed both services...however, all work is done at handyman cost. For me, it was worth it not to arrange 3 appts. to save just a bit of money. The handyman actually called over 2 hours early and offered to come sooner, and showed up at our door five minutes later. He did all tasks asked, very swiftly, with only one task not done perfectly-that was chopping off the dead plants at the root rather than removing the roots with the plants-not really handyman forte, so I didn't mark down. We didn't even need two full hours and couldn't find anything else to fill his time. This definitely isn't a bargain-priced outfit, but we were quite pleased with the outcome and would hire again for convenience and quality of work.

He came and went into the attic and put some wire mesh over a chewed through opening in a vent. It wasn't something he has ever done before but he came and helped me anyways. He was the alternative to poisoning the squirrels.

They came out and fixed the leak, but fixed the wrong part, so when the drain was still leaking they came out free of charge to fix it. Their service was excellent.

Technicians Mike and Dave came exactly on time, and got to work right away on the crown molding. They explained how they would build a panel for the electrical box and told us what supplies to buy--one of us purchased them right away. The finished products look really good, much better than what we could've done. Took them 4 hours to do, and the hourly cost is high, but watching them, I could tell that if only one tech did the crown molding it would've taken much longer to do. They didn't leave a mess either.

I scheduled for a Monday and the worker showed up right when scheduled. He looked at the work to be done, said it was more than he expected and asked if I minded rescheduling as he needed to pick someone up at the hospital. I agreed and he made a list of necessary materials so he would be able to come ready to work. He also arranged the new appointment with his office prior to leaving. He returned the following week bright and early and got to work. The job took all day to do. The steps needing a rail were apparently neither square nor level which made the railing was difficult to do. The railing he built is beautiful and extremely sturdy. He replaced the deck board with no problem. He apologized for piecing some of the work on the shed door which was necessary due to the way it had been originally constructed. The end result looked fine. The work took longer than I expected and as they charge an hourly rate was higher than I expected but I can not fault the work. Our workman was diligent through the day and the finished product is excellent.

All I can say is I was very lucky to have found this handyman on Angie s List. He was very polite, very professional, knowledgeable about what needed to be done, and was prompt. I watched as he fixed the entire porch with ease and I was very impressed by all of it. I wouldn t hesitate to recommend him to others and will be using him again.

He was working on the window and ended up breaking the crank and leaving the window open. I called him to come back to close the window because it was raining and rained over my furniture. He had to close the window from the outside. He had to order an Andersen window crank and said that he would come back the following week to fix the handle. After many calls from me they finally called me back and had an appointment set up to install the window crank. They called on Monday and said they would need to send a different handyman Albert because the other was too busy and he would arrive between 11-1. They called me at 7am the morning of the appointment and said he would be early if it was ok with me. He was a very nice man and installed the crank, but he handed me a bill for $99. I asked him why I have to pay because the other handyman was the one that broke the crank. I told him that I would pay him, but it would be under duress.

The tech apparently was inexperienced. After spending all morning here installing them, one didn't work and the other was not installed correctly. They called another tech to come out and fix the one that wasn't working. The other fan was still not working. When I noticed debris on the floor, I looked and saw a whole in the wall. I called them to let them know they put a hole in my wall and they denied it. I then spoke to the owner who personally came out with the other techs to correct the problem.

I called several of the ''big'' roofing companies in the phonebook advertising ''emergency services''. The snow was falling, and there were several openings in my roof. I did not hear from ANY of the companies I called. I then called Mike Williams at Mr. Handyman MD. Mike came out on a Sunday afternoon during the snowstorm and fixed the gaps until I can get the vent replaced. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He went above and beyond coming out in the snow. I will now use him for any handyman project that I need around my house, and I would highly recommend him.

The company instructs the handyman how long the project should take (an extremely generous six hours). They do not tell the customer this, however. So, the worker went as slow as possible to fill up six hours. He left WD-40 dripped onto the siding, as well as on the wood trim; insisting that the rain will wash that away. He spent a lot of money on materials that weren't necessary. A rip-off, for sure.

Work was done timely and professionally. However, the handymen don't come out prior to the work date to verify what materials are needed. I felt that more time to pick out the type of trim and wood for the deck may have been helpful. The biggest problem was that the workman left 4-16 foot boards with the large nails on the deck and did not make an effort to clean-up his mess upstairs or below the deck. I asked him to clean up and to take the boards from the deck. He said taking away the old deck boards was not part of the agreement and they would charge for another hour to do it. This should have been specified. No one would hire a handyman service to do this type of work and not expect that hauling away the old materials was not included. I would consider someone else before I would use Mr Handyman again. There are many good companies who do this type of work and pride themselves on leaving the work place clean and clear of ALL debris.

Arrived on time with the tools required to do the job. The only problem occurred was when it was necessary to grind some dry grout and Marc did not tell me how messy it would be so that powder ended up on everything in two rooms. I could have reduced the clean up if I had had time to curtain off the area.

Larry arrived on time and worked efficiently for 5 1/2 hours. He was professional and courteous, and honest about what he did not have much experience with (extensive kitchen plumbing). Given all the work we needed done, this was a very good value. It saved us time (and money) to use one person rather than multiple companies to tackle our repair list.
