I believe it was a quality installation and the system has been running well (after one initial failure not Solar Energy World's fault). Â My biggest issue with the company was communications during the process. Â I think the company had grown too far too fast and they may not have kept up with sufficient support staff. Â That may have changed by now. Â As an engineer, I asked a number of questions and it took some time to get the answers but I eventually did get what I was looking for. Â It also took a little time to work out the details of rewiring the electric panel to allow some circuits to run off of an emergency generator if the electricity goes down (if you're hooked to the grid you get shut down so linemen don't get electrocuted from energy you may be producing with the solar panels), but again, everything was worked out and all is running well. Â The company's field workers did quality work from coming out before the installation to ensure the proper designed etc., to the ones that did the actual installation (setting up the framework then installing the panels and the inverters and wiring). Â A few weeks after the installation, one of the two power inverters went bad (not the fault of Solar Energy World). Â Within a short time they had a new inverter installed (no cost, no hassles) and my system was up and running again at full production. Â The estimates they give for your system are only that. Â Sometimes I've produced significantly less than expected and sometimes significantly more (mostly depends on the weather, snow cover, etc.). Â I had the system sized (10.2 kW, forty 255W panels) to meet my expected overall average energy needs and this year it looks like I'll be close to meeting that goal. Â Since March of last year my electric bills have been $5.36 a month (two fees you can't get rid of if you're hooked to the grid). Â Not only have I gone carbon neutral (I installed geothermal too, replacing oil heat), but my system generates an income for me through the SREC energy credits. Â Why should the big utilities be the only one to make money. Â Solar allows everyone who installs it to use natural resources on their own property that would otherwise go to waste. Â I would use this company again.

Quality sales experience to decision to purchase. Made me aware of many steps in process. Install was timely and professional. They supposed me thru turn on of system which was in the hands of my Electric company and County IN specters. Would certainly use them again.

I went with this company because they had better pricing that other major firms (e.g., Solar City). The communication and administrative follow-up was less than satisfactory; I signed the agreement in September 2015 (after several months of analysis and comparison of various bids -- Solar energy was less slick than other companies, (calculation were back of an envelop rather that digital), but their Angie's rating for the local contractor was good and they were willing to negotiate terms.
They just completed the installation this week (four months after signing and several phone calls to track down an installation date).The four person team that showed up were timely, seemed to be very professional in their work and cleaned-up each day. The team leader took time to explain the system and they were responsive to guidance as to how the outside cabling was to be arranged. The system has yet to be inspected and then PEPCO must install its net inter-connection meter to make the system operational, so I can not speak to the actual operation of the the system (thus, my recommendation to use them again is pending).

Everything went EXACTLY as they said it would. The always showed up on time. They handled everything regarding the install, from design, to engineering, to permitting etc. About 20 days after the install and after all the inspections, I turned the system on and haven't looked back. It couldn't have been more seamless. All the employees, both on the phone and at my house, were very helpful and respectful. My mom also chose Solar Energy World for her house. Her experience was equally as impressive. She chose to buy her system and couldn't be happier.

I selected SolarEnergyWorld for several reasons, after meeting with two other companies. For one, I wanted to own my panels (not that the other companies didn't have this as an option). My rep -- Don Meyers -- was (in my opinion) more knowledgeable than the other reps with whom I had met. A smart friend of mine had Don as her rep, so I wanted to lean on her for advice. I also consulted with a friend of mine with a certain background and experience.
My frustration with this whole process had more to do with inspectors and the electric company, not SolarEnergyWorld. Suffice it to say that one has to be vigilant and follow up to make certain that events happen on time, or at all!
The real meat, in a review, is not just in the service (in my opinion) but in the outcome. I have a heat pump in this house that I bought 3+ years ago. I've gone through two severe winters with it. My winter bills exceeded $600 per month last year!!! And that's with prudent use of the thermostatic control! So I can't really review the outcome of this solar business without MORE INFORMATION, such as, my electric bills over a cycle.
Having said that, I would recommend that people interested in exploring the world of solar power get knowledgeable and get at least three bids, as I did. I strongly suggest that SolarEnergyWorld be one of them!

System was installed fast. System was installed and inspected within a week. The Interconnection Certificate of Completion submitted to BGE 06/18/15. A month later I sent an email to Solar Energy World checking my status, they resubmitted the Interconnection paperwork to BGE again 07/20/15. BGE stated they only received the paperwork on 08/03/15. The meter was installed on the 08/13/15.
They system works as expected producing a daily high of 72 kWh. The remote monitor works well but had a delay of 15 min to 30 min.
The only issue that I had with Solar Energy World was that I wasn?t told about an inverter option for an additional outlet could be installed and used in the event of a power outage.

The folks at Solar Energy World are super helpful and friendly. It takes time from purchase date to install, but the timeline was as they promised. The sales rep, Jay Randall, was always available and straight up. You have access to everyone in the company when there are questions. We frequently talked with CEO Geoff Mirkin and he just as helpful. Even the installation team was friendly, courteous, and professional. They continue to support us and made it clear that we are partners for the next 25 years, at least. It's a nice team to be on. Thank You Solar Energy World!

Great and very professional installers. The sales rep was very responsive and answered all my questions before we signed contract. I have been looking at solar systems on and off for 10 years. Solar Energy World was one of 4 estimates we got in the 6 weeks prior to signing contract and we were very pleased with service and responsiveness before, during, and after the installation! Wish I had skipped the others and gone directly to SEW.

Solar Energy's salesman came to our house to lay out the process of installation, applying for rebates and tax credits. Days later, engineers came to look at our roof where the panels would go and assessed the amount of work needed to be done. Soon after we received a proposal with pricing and tentative dates for installation. Installation dates were pushed back a number of times do to government bureaucracy we were told. Once the work was scheduled, panel installers appeared on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up so well, I didn't know that they'd been there! A few days later the wiring and meter people came and the same was true.

Overall it was a very good experience. It took longer for our installation because we changed our mind during the process and went from a total roof installation to partial roof and ground mount. They were very patient with us during the process and presented all of the options so that we could make a decision that would provide the best solar output. The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. We are very happy with the final result.

Their seminar, plant tour, sales and installation were excellent. Everyone who we met was top notch. Then it all fell apart. Took 3 weeks/3 calls from us to get an inspection scheduled. Thank goodness for Summer in the office, she is professional and does her best to explain and inform. She is the perfect "face" of this company.
Once our system was installed there was NO follow up. If this company instituted a follow up policy they could avoid what happened to us (not being able to get inspection scheduled) and figure out where there are weaknesses in their company and maybe most importantly, make the customer feel like they care.
We paid for our system up front, and between the inspection issue and Pepco's timeline we waited 2 months to have it turned on. Solar Energy World needs to explain to customers that there could be a timeframe during which they are still paying in full for their utility and also paying for the solar system.
They were great at the paperwork and the administrative stuff. We have online access to our metering info and also to the SREC system.
I really liked this company and selected "recommend" because I don't believe in slamming someone for what appears to be a weakness in their process. Our system has been operational for two months (during the shortest days of the year) and has been generating power, but it's too early to assess. (Unfortunately the net meter was installed by Pepco December 11 and today is February 20 and we have not yet seen a bill. Pepco is a whole other story of probems...)
I am optimistic that it will all work out.
