They came out for a consultation to make sure that the square footage that they were offering in the coupon was the area I was going to get done. They scheduled me and they did it. It was really good. They were strictly about doing the job. They were very professional and they knew what they were doing. They cleaned up well behind themselves. They did what they said they would do and it turned out beautiful. Their price was excellent.

The estimate was done within a short time after I called DJ Floors. We requested more information on the difference between water based polyurethene and oil based polyurethene and they emailed me information comparing the two. We chose the water based product that was heavy duty because when we had the floor refinished in the past(by a different company) we did not request the heavy duty polyurethere and it did not wear well.
The estimate was reasonable so we booked a date for the work to be done. The team arrived and covered doors, cabinets and walls to prevent the sanding dust from getting into appliances and cabinets.
The work was completed basically in two days but they returned on the 3rd day in order to install a piece of floor moulding that had to be replaced.  When they left, there was no dust or mess. We are very pleased with the work both on the floor and the table and recommend DJ Floors for refinishing hardwood floors.

Dj was very professional, he provide me all the information to help choose the right material for my house without force me to buy anything.
I'm very impressed with the job performed and I'll be using his company again to do the installation of the hardwood floor of the second floor.

Overall it was a good experience with a couple of snafus along the way that were a bit annoying (late..no phone call).DJ came out to do the initial estimate and wound up working with me on the price to bring it down a bit lower.  He advised me that it should take 2 days...maybe 3 to sand & refinish the floors (living room, dining room and small hallway). They got it done in just over two days but there was some miscommunication on when the workers would be arriving 2 of those days. I initially requested for them to come at a certain time but when the worker left on Day 1, he told me he'd arrive at 8:00a but didn't show up until around 10:00a.  So I was sitting around waiting for 2 hours on day 2.  No one called me back to let me know when they were supposed to be arriving. I was annoyed but the end result of the quality of work made up for lack of communication and my annoyance w/ day 2.  They did a really nice job.

They were very responsive and helped address concerns. They were very considerate in making realistic suggestions for me on things that needed to be done. They were very professional and arrived on time. I asked for a couple more things to be done and they made it work.

DJ came and provided the estimate. The work was performed within a week of me accepting the proposal. The crew was extremely nice, punctual, and very professional.

I am very pleased.  My hardwood floors really needed attention because I had not had them professionally cleaned and polished in over 2 years.   The technician who came to my house was polite, prompt, and respectful of my property.  He did a wonderful job on my floors, taking care to get every corner clean and shiny.  He paid extra attention to my entranceway, which was the dirtiest part.   When he left, my floors sparkled like glass.  It is nearly impossible for me to get results like this when I try to do this job by myself.  I wll use DJs again.

We strongly recommend DJ Floors! DJ Floors were able to quickly work us into their schedule and start the project during a time that we could be out of town. The team worked on a holiday to get the job done. They went out of their way to make sure the job was completed to our satisfaction and we are thrilled with the results.

After I contacted DJ they sent an estimator to look at the problem.  He arrived on time and was very friendly and professional.  He described completly what they needed to do.  He sent me an electronic estimate the next day (much appreciated).  I had to email a couple of questions and then set up a time for the job.  The two repairmen, brothers, arrived on time and started to work right away.  They laid down a floor covering in order to protect the rest of the house.  I just sat in the living room and watched TV while they did their job.  They kept me informed of what they were doing and recommended the correct stain to match the rest of the floor.  They said it would take about 3 hours and they were done in about 2 1/2 hours.  When my wife came home she had a hard time seeing the difference between the old and new hardwood.  Would definitely use them again.

Very professional, very efficient.  There were existing ripples at edges from previous amateur refinishing job that I was hoping would be smoothed out but were not.

All worked as agreed to.  Make sure they show sample of the stain before its applied.  When they were out doing the estimate the guy told us the floor was stained with "gunstock".  When that was applied, there was a very red hue to the color.  They had to apply a darker brown {provincial) to take the red heu out.  While the final color was great and the overall floor looks great, we should have ask for a sample to avoid the possibility of disaster!!

From start to finish, DJ, Mauricio and DJ's workers did a thorough, professional job. They arranged their schedule around ours and were punctual each day in the 3-day process. Maurico brought samples and patiently explained how the colors woud match between the refinished/stained floor and the new engineered wood floor. They had separate crews for each portion of the job and we were very pleased with the results of each crew's work. On the final day, DJ, Mauricio and another man worked together to replace the rugs and furniture exactly how we wanted it. DJ even repainted the baseboards to make sure the entire job had a clean, finished look. We plan to call DJ back again when we are ready to refinish the rest of our hardwood.

They were very punctual and the workmen were very professional; they worked quickly.  I gave them a 'B' for quality because I am not sure the flooring they used was the best quality, as some pieces had a strange color & some blemishes on the boards.  I was sure to inspect the pieces they installed & when I didn't like a piece, they pulled it out & replaced it with no hassle.  But workmanship wise, I think they did an outstanding job & would use them again mainly because they delivered what they said they would, did what I asked and completed and cleaned up really quickly.  They even helped me add felt pads to all my furniture!  Nice touch. 

The job didn’t go as I expected. I asked them to match the flooring with the existing flooring in the rest of the house but it is not even close.  It is a completely different color. It was for 100 sq ft flooring.  I wouldn’t recommend them at all because they didn’t do the job the way I wanted.  The price was not good because we were overcharged.  The price was $2 per sq ft in the market but they told us as it is a small job they can’t charge us less than $500. In the market it would have cost me $200.  The quality is okay but it is completely different to what I asked. 

The job was fine and they did okay. I will use them again in the future.

D J arrived on time to access the project and schedule a time to come back and completed. We wanted a stain to match the stair railing. D J suggested gunstock. We scheduled for the following Wednesday morning. He emailed the cost for the shoe molding and stain. I followed up with the office on Monday that we were still on schedule for Wednesday. Wednesday morning the office called that they were finishing up a prior job and would be delayed until later that morning. They called back that they would be at our home at 1pm. They arrived and got right to work. They were very professional and explained the process again. All questions were answered. They blocked off the space to be refinished to keep the dust from blowing to other spaces in the house. They cleaned up the area before they left for the evening. They came back the next morning and completed the work. We are very pleased with the work done and would definitely refer them

It went very well. the men had too move 2 rooms of furniture  and replace. remove wall to wall carpeting. put an odor barrier on the floor. (I had a pet that ruined the carpet) nail boards to prevent squeaks. put new hardwood flooring over plywood. replace furniture and clean up. they worked very hard and did a great job.

I liked everything, everything was fine.

I had several proposals for this job.  Two were within the same ballpark.  However, both ran a lot higher in their estimates for haul away, disposal, moving furniture, etc.  Also they tried to push their products rather than listening and then explaining.

Enter DJ.  I noticed DJ's add for refinishing - which even without the discount was much lower than the others.  I called him, and within an hour he was at my house.  He had a good product, listened, was easy to talk with, and well that is what sealed the deal.  Further, and I must say this because it is rare.  He had two different coupons for floor refinishing and installation.  He had intended them to be used individually and not together.  I pointed out, however, that there was no language that explicitly forbid them being coupled together.  Initially DJ balked at bringing them together, because it did affect his already low margin.  However, he saw what I was saying, and honored my request to have both discounts.  I am not sure how many people - especially in this economy - would do that today.  (This, by the way, is also in contrast to the other companies which were completely inflexible in their pricing).

After the negotiations, we set a date and his refinishing crew arrived on the day we scheduled - ON TIME!  As I said above they were great.   My only lingering question - and this is per my request - was the water based sealant.  It really does not hold as well as the oil based sealant.  That is something I may have to ask DJ about in the future, if we need to refinish again.

Two days later the installers came - ON TIME! They did great work as well.  DJ came at the end, and inspected the job.  My only question was that there was a gap between a threshold and the floor.  He got some caulking and sealed and it looked great.  My main floor looks totally transformed.  

I have been using Angie's list for that last 3 years.  This is the first review I've done - that is how much DJ floors has impressed me.

It cost a bit more than normal due to stone being used rather than ceramic tile, don't know if this is normal. However, I used this company regardless of price concerns (not sure of normal market price in this area) due to the good feeling I got when meeting the owner and due to the rave reviews on Angie's List.The company did not disappoint; it took a long time for the project to get from plan to implementation, but that wasn't their fault as I had much red tape and unexpected complications to deal with. But once we finally started, they did a great job. It took them about twice as long as planned, but the price remained the same. They did a better job even on patching the seam between wall and flooring, which had concerned me prior to that part being completed. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this company. I like to think that you get what you pay for. Every time I walk into my kitchen or bathroom I smile at how beautiful it is, which of course is not only due to the stone itself but the way it's laid: perfect grout, perfectly flat, great bordering, etc. etc. Highly recommended company.

This company was great to work with. They did beautiful work and did everything when and how they promised. They delivered samples to me immediately upon request, matched the right color, and did the work intelligently and efficiently. There was no BS to deal with.

Using an Angie's List coupon, I had DJ come out for an estimate.  I asked if he could begin the work the next day, as I was having company the following weekend.  I had concerns about dust in the house from the process.  He assured me there would be minimal dust, they would cover everything.  They came at the time agreed upon, carefully moved my furniture and began refinishing.  A few hours later, my floors were gorgeous.  And there was no dust!  I could not believe it, as the last time I had them refinished there was dust everywhere.  DJ's staff were very professional and helpful.  The second day they put on three coats of finish and the floors were even more beautiful.  The third day they arrived as agreed upon and moved my furniture carefully back into place -- and my floors look brand new.  More than a week later, they still are beautiful, even though five Golden Retrievers inhabit that area.  I could not be more pleased -- truly amazed.  No dust.  Three days. Good price.  Really nice people, especially DJ.  Thank you to Angie's List for introducing me to DJ's.
