I called and arranged a time. There were some scheduling conflicts on both sides, but we quickly arranged for the contractor to come by. He fixed the loose siding behind my townhouse, and it has not fallen off or gotten loose since, even during Sandy.

When Hurricane Sandy hit we discovered that the roof leak we thought we had fixed during the Derecho storm back in June of 2012 was not fixed. I called Kangaroof based on reviews here and spoke to Barbara. I was please with her ability to schedule a visit the same day.
Vincent arrived at my house around 10 AM and immediately went to work tracking down the source of my leak. He discovered some broken shingles, exposed nails and a loose (bent ridge vent) over my garage. He replaced the shingles, refastened the ridge vent and covered the exposed nails for the agreed upon amount. He even offered an additional 5% off of the original price.
Excellent customer service. I wish all companies in the area worked this way as opposed to treating you like they are doing you a favor as you hand over your hard earned money.
I will use them again.

I purchased a roof inspection/ sealing package through Angie's List.  After several attempts I was able to schedule a visit that accommodated my work schedule.  Sam came two days later, inspected the overall roof condition, cleared a clogged gutter, and secured and resealed my peak vents.  He explained the work that needed to be done on my roof and provided a written estimate.  We discussed other work that I could consider, with no pressure to perform the work.  I agreed to have the work performed, and he scheduled the work to be performed the following Thursday to accommodate my schedule.   Sam returned and performed the work, despite some complications, for the amount quoted.
Sam was professional in all respects.

I called a week before the service was made and was pleasantly surprised, unlike other Big Deals I have bought, that I could be serviced within a week. My call was answered by a lady named Barbara who in my opinion gave one of the best customer service I have had in the recent past. She introduced herself, sounded cheerful and enthusiastic about her job, asked what days of the week I will prefers and promptly told me what was available. She then gave me a 30 minute  time window to expect the technician on the service date. She ended the call  by again telling me her name and saying to call her back personally if I have any concerns or questions. I can tell this individual has her heart in her job.
On the service date, the technician, named Sam called me a few minutes before the 30min time window I was told he will arrive that he will indeed be arriving within that time window. When he arrived, he introduced himself and told me what he will be doing. I asked him to in addition to his work to check the condition of the gutter while he is up on the roof. Sam inspected the roof and let me know there are few popped nails he will be fixing and some areas he will be sealing. he also brought digital pictures of pipe boots that showed signs of deterioration. He explained the boots are not completely gone but that they are worn enough to start allowing some water in the attic when it rains. He explains the leak could be worse if there is any snow accumulation on the roof since as the snow melts if can be expected there will be a steady leak to the attic. He also let me know the gutters were clean.
Sam then returned up the roof and did his job. When he finished he gave me an estimate to replace the three pipe boots mentioned earlier. He told me to call him personally with any issue and made me aware the office had six-months no interest financing if I was interested.
Overall a very good experience with this service provider. Will certainly use them again and recommend them to friends and family

They were great! The gentlemen arrived at the time promised, were respectful of me and my home, and installed the fan (and did explained how I would go about obtaining an electrical switch to turn it on manually) in less than half an hour. I wouldn't hesitate to go to Kangaroof again, and in fact, will be doing so--as soon as I can find the time to order the electrical switch!

The gentlemen that did the work was pleasant enough but honestly, I thought for what I had done was over priced.  They had to come back a 2nd day because he didn't have enough material.

Don't bother emailing this company, they won't reply.  They are using an @verizon email address or something, and it's not replied to (I tried twice).  Their phone number is answered by a service, who will basically take down a message with your contact details.  But, this is fine because they are reasonably prompt in returning the phone call.  I don't know if this works out for emergencies, though.
They scheduled the installation and was even a bit early for the appointment.  They did not necessarily install the solar fan in the ideal position (wrong side of roof), which means the cells won't catch as much sunshine.  But, this should be OK and good enough, since the cell panel can be adjusted and has a lift.  Next time, bring a compass and position the fan on the south, southwest, or west side of the house (not the east side) so the solar cells catch more daylight.
The fan model has an MSRP of $399, so I basically paid $160 for installation.  Not too bad.  Their normal "$850 Value" for this service would be way too expensive, so the Big Deal isn't really all that great.  If you are a do-it-yourself person, a similar (but better) fan sells at Costco for around $250.  I'm happy with the cost and model of the fan, and the cost of installation, so no complaints here.
Overall, I would do business with this company again.  It wasn't a perfect experience, but better than average, so I'm happy.

It was a very hot day.  They called to see if they could come earlier than the assigned time which was fine by me.  Only negative:  I was told that they would take the fan packing material (mostly cardboard) and throw it in their dumpster.  Fortunately the County's recycle truck came down the road and we threw the cardboard in it.

Advice:  Always ask what the Deal of the Week is really giving you.!
Response from A-1 Roofing's Kanga Roof
"In regards to the Big Deal-$259.00 for Home Siding Repair including a complementary Roof/Attic Inspection, I am sorry that the homeowner did not see that the deal only covered up to 24 linear feet of siding repair and that the cost for this deal was $259.00. Angies List would not allow our company to run a big deal ad without stating the cost and each ad is proof read by Angies List before it goes out."

Prior to the installation I received a call from the company advising me of the date and time the installers would be at my home.  The individual who made the call was very professional, giving me the name of the installers, a description of their vehicle, and a time for their arrival.  Approximately (1) hour before their scheduled arrival I received a call from the same individual advising that the installation van had broken down and that the installers would be approximately (1) hour late.  Vehicles break down; so although I had to adjust my personal and professional work schedules to wait for the installers, I understood their dilemma.  When the installer arrived I gave them some bottled water and they went right to work.  I let them know that I was available if needed.  Approximately (45) minutes later they advised that the solar attic fan was installed.  Although I thought it a bit unusual, as the video and printed instructions on the manufacturer's website indicated that they would need access to the attic, I signed the receipt, gave them a tip (which I typically do), and the installers left the premises.  After their departure, I went back to the U.S. Sunlight website and again reviewed the installation instructions for the exact model of attic fan that was installed.  The installation instructions require the installers to cut a circular hole in the roof (13" in diameter) so it matches the dimensions of the solar fan.  This is accomplished by entering the attic, driving a nail through the plywood and shingles between the rafters, and using the nail as a center point to avoid cutting the roof trusses or other framework.  The installer is supposed go to the roof, tie a string to the nail, and use that as a center point to draw a circle to precisely fit the hole to the solar attic fan dimensions.  Since none of this was done, I used a ladder to enter my attic and discovered that the installers had cut a square from the outside, rather then taking the extra (5-10) minutes to properly fit the fan using the readily available instructions.  The work was sloppy, and they removed more of the roofing plywood than necessary (which is always a bad idea) since it serves as the supporting structure for the shingles.  The installers were polite, but I am getting very tired of people (contractors) who are too lazy to a job properly.  It is impossible to find a craftsman anymore (or people who take pride in their work).
Response from A-1 Roofing's Kanga Roof
"I am sorry that the homeowner lost confidence in our services, but he should not have because we abide by our mission statement which is " To create a win win situation for all involved." This means that the homeowner must win by getting first class service and their problem solved with an added benefit of a warranty. The technician must win by being fairly compensated for providing the service. Finally, the company must win by earning a fair profit to remain in business and to serve the homeowner should a problem arise with the repair or service that was provided. As far as the installation of the solar attic fan, the homeowner is describing instructions for the DIY("Do It Yourself") homeowner. We as contractors perform these tasks day in and day out. Our professionally trained technicians use specialized tools, techniques and knowledge that will enable them, the installers, to find the joist while on the roof, without going into the attic. Using these skills allows them to do the repair or provide the service in a faster and timelier manner than the DIY ("Do It Yorself") person. Addressing the issue of a square verses a circle being cut into the roof, normally the solar attic fan comes packaged with a circular template inside the box. However, on this particular occasion, none was present. As such, to ensure that the opening for the fan was wide enough, but not too wide, a square cut was placed into the roof covering instead of a circle. Because of this situation, moving forward, we always carry an extra template. Also, the homeowner is not to worry due to his/her 2-year workmanship warranty that comes with the installation of the solar sttic fan."

Doug arrived promptly, was very professional and courteous. Though the roof was about 13 years old, they were able to match the color almost exactly. It's hard to see where the repair took place.  Great job.

I purchased the Big Deal online and was called by the company secretary within minutes. There was a deadline involved with our repair, and the company was kind enough to send someone out on a Sunday.  Maurice, a very pleasant employee, came out and took the time to do a very good job. The balance he collected was exactly what had been negotiated.  We're very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to call them again and recommend them  to anyone who asks.  I'm very glad I joined Angie's List because our first experience couldn't have been better.
