A-1 Roofing's Kanga Roof

Was told that I would have to pay $49 in order for someone to come out
to give me an estimate for roof repair despite the fact their listing
claims "free estimates."

The roof was in good shape but unfortunately there was nothing they could do for leak in skylight.

Discovered rain water coming in attic around the chimney. Scheduled an inspection last fall and received an estimate to fix the issue.  Work performed to my satisfaction.

The person who came to the house to do the repairs was very polite and professional.  Shortly after the repairs were done the siding blew off again.  It was repaired under warranty.  Sandy came through and blew the same siding off again.  The company would not repair under warranty due to the hurricane.  The estimate to repair was $800 higher than the company I had do the repair after Sandy.  With the Angies list special it was worth the repair and I would be happy to have the same man come work on our home.  Otherwise they are way over priced and I do not plan to use them again.

Outdated roof need replacement but offered a temp repair option wiht 2year warrantly.  This bought us some time to save for a full roof replacement which we expect to use them form.
Amazing service.

The service guy was punctual. He inspected the roof and showed me pictures of the minor defects that he found and fixed on the roof. He promised to send the pictures to my email address. When I did not receive the pictures, I called their office and a lady promised that the pictures would be sent right away. It's been over two months and I have not received the pictures as promised.

We were happy with the entire process.  We were able to make an appointment easily and quickly and were happy with the work performed.  It matched the description of services we would receive when we purchased the deal on Angie's List.  We would use the roofer/company again.

Great service with a very honest technician. He told me what needed fixing and did a great job. He did not try to upsell me a new roof.
Barbara, who did my scheduling was very pleasant to work with and did a great job.

It did not go at all because my residence address is outside A-1's service area so it declined to honor the Angie's List promotional price.

I originally called to set up an appointment for an estimate.  I think the company uses some sort of call center/answering service because I got a call back to schedule an appointment.  The scheduled appointment time was 5pm which was convenient for me.  The gentlemen who came out for the estimate were about half an hour late but they called right away to let me know they were running a bit behind.  
Once they arrived, they quickly went up to the roof to check things out.  Once they inspected the roof they came down to tell me about their findings as well as to show me pictures they had taken with a digital camera.  They usually use an iPad to better show the pictures but being the last call of the day, the battery was dead on their iPad.  Either way, I could see the pictures clearly enough on the digital camera and it was a nice touch to make it easy for me to see and understand the repairs that needed to be done.
I was given a written estimate and asked to call a number on the estimate to schedule the work to be done.  When my husband and I decided to go with Kangaroof, I called the number and left a message.  Unfortunately, after 5 days I still hadn't received a return phone call (this is my only complaint about the experience).  I was a little frustrated that after following their instructions, I hadn't received a response.  
Nevertheless, Kangaroof was the company we wanted to do the work so I called the main number and left my phone number for a return call.  I was called back in a very timely manner and the work was scheduled for later the same week.  
Very conveniently, because the work was all exterior, the company was willing to take care of the repairs while I was at work.  My schedule can be difficult to change around so I really appreciated that.  Because I was not home at the time of the repairs, they were willing to bill me.  
I did not ask to see pictures of the completed work but was told the pictures were available if I wished to review them.
All in all, I would definitely hire them again.  The work includes a 2 year warranty.  Everyone I spoke with and met was helpful and polite.  The price was right.   My biggest gripe is one unreturned phone call -- which was promptly corrected (and they apologized) when I contacted the main number to arrange an appointment for the work to be done.

They were prompt and professional, ready to answer any questions, and returned soon after the initial inspection to replace the damaged siding.  Very good experience overall.

When I called to make the appointment for the inspection, I explained to the woman who answered the phone that I need a roof inspection for a property I was considering buying because the home inspector had noted some issues with the plywood sheathing. The inspector who arrived (early) was very nice but had only 4 years of experience and had never heard of the type of (potentially defective) plywood the home inspector had identified. My realtor, who arrived before I did, explained to the technician we needed someone who knew what he was looking at and had more experience dealing with/assessing this type of material. After speaking to the owner Maurice on the phone to explain the circumstances and that my realtor, I, and the listing agent had all traveled for this appointment, Maurice finally agreed to rearrange his schedule and meet us for the inspection an hour later. He arrived a little more than an hour later and I climbed into the attic with him to ask many questions about what he saw, what he was explaining, and about roofs in general. He patiently, pleasantly and expertly answered all my questions and offered a repair solution both the seller's agent and I agreed was acceptable.
Though the start of the appointment was very frustrating, given that I had explained exactly what I needed when making the appointment, in the end Maurice made it right. I would recommend them and use them again, but caution that if what you're requesting is outside the typical services a roofer might offer that you ask to speak to a manager to explain exactly what  you need. I suspect the woman I made the appointment with didn't know enough about the ins and outs of roofing to accurately convey what I needed to the technician she was scheduling.
