Our closing in the Roanoke VA office was scheduled for 3/11/13. On that date we were informed by our agent that the mortgage company did not have all the required documents to complete the closing as scheduled for 3/11/13. Status updates through the day indicated that they couldn't read a document and that it was being overnighted, then faxed to them. Once documents were received from the buyer they would then need to go back to underwriting, which would cause another day or two delay. Not to mention the delays waiting for the title company to reschedule and the bank to transfer the money for closing. In the end we closed 10 day after the originally scheduled closing date. I'm very perplexed as to why on the day of the closing we would be informed that they didn't have all the documents. Seems to me that someone was less than prepared for this closing as to wait until the day of, to verify all documents were in place. I voiced my complaint to the corporate office as my attempts to reach the Roanoke office via email resulted in emails bouncing back to me. A corporate representative indicated that the Roanke office was attempting to obtain the documents and inferred that the delay was as a result of the buyer and her agent, not their employees mismanagement of our closing. If that was in fact the case, and they didn't have all the documents they needed prior to the closing date, then why schedule the closing. Surely someone would have checked all the necessary documents. This companies offices did much finger pointing and failed to take responsibility for their lack of organization and preparedness for the closing. Go somewhere else!
Description of Work: Buyer for our home and her agent used this company for the closing of the purchase of our home in Roanoke VA. As the Roanoke VA branch isn't listed here and I had emails from the corporate office per my initiation, I am reviewing the corporate office.

I called Chuck when I saw rates were getting low enough to potentially justify a refinance. The good faith estimate was right on track to what it came out to be at the closing. Chuck was very patient and helpful in getting all our paperwork together. I could not recommend him and the people he works at the Marriottsville office with more highly.
Description of Work: This is the third time we worked with Chuck Maggio (once for the original purchase, and this was our second refinance). He is so hardworking and trustworthy: a real pleasure to work with. (The closing was handled by Kim at North American Title, who was also very helpful.)

Because I was new to buying a home, Rick took the time to explain everything and walk me through the process. Especially when I made a mistake in the application two days before closing, Rick dropped everything to fix it. He's honest, friendly and hardworking. He always returned my calls and e-mails promptly. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a mortgage broker!

I worked with Mark Westcott and Gayle Soriano. They are absolutely wonderful. Problems beyond their control (not their fault) occured just two hours prior to settlement. Mark rushed through an alternative loan and even hand-carried the bank check to settlement from Columbia to downtown Baltimore at 5:00 in the afternoon. He gives honest, sincere advice. He and his staff are always quick and efficient in their response times. I would recommend them whole-heartedly to anyone. My first-year teacher daughter was purchasing her first house with this loan. My other two daughters will use them in the future when they are ready to purchase.

Rick was excellent. He locked my rate in the first day or so without charging a ''lock rate''. He supplied me with a complete list of documents needed at the outset. Other companies asked for a set of documents one day and then asked for something more every other day. He was fast, friendly and professional. He came to my house and also had the title company come to my house because I had four children at home during summer vacation Will definitely recommend him to friends and family.
Description of Work: Refinanced my home and consolidated 4 other debts to result in a single monthly mortage payment $500 less than with my previous lender, while rates were going up! Closing costs were rolled into the loan, as well as the cost of the appraisal.
