it has not happened yet... just had apt with estimate and moving forward with contract

The owner, Jim, comes across as being a very straight forward and honest man. I have entered into a contract with them to do the roofing job. On September 27th 2014, a complete roofing repair and replacement was performed. A large amount of bad wood was replaced and new roofing was laid down. The results were excellent. The crew did a thorough clean up job when finished. The warranty and guarantee was excellent.

Our experience with this company was very nice. Jim came out and wrote the estimate within a half hour. He even took the time to explain to me the different materials and warranties. Actually, he was very patient with me and ran the numbers for different types of shingles 25, 30, and lifetime shingles. I got quite an education on the materials available and what they do. Their office is really nice to. The people who work there handle the calls and answer your questions with courtesy. We are very happy with their work and have been telling our friends and neighbors about them. The crew worked like nothing I have ever seen before. The delivery truck arrived early in the morning and the materials were loaded on the roof. As soon as they were done the roofers were already in place with their ladders and started working. They completed the whole job in the same day. The workers and supervisor were very respectful and friendly as well. Good job Certified Inc. You guys are a really good example of how to interact with the customer and provide quality service.

It was okay. They did a good job but they did not cleaned up all the nails in the yard and around the area.

The problem with a review like this is twofold. The contractor was great to work with and completed the job on time. The problem is on the follow-through. Certified provided an innovative technology to seal and protect a second story roof deck that if it would leak would damage multiple sections of the house. It is a complex job and Certified came up with a great solution. The solution works. The problem is the solution did not fix a ponding water problem. I've requested for months that Certified come back out and see if we have another solution to fix the ponding. All of this to no avail. I wish i could give them an A which I want to do but given their lack of interest in actually "finishing" the job.

Superb service from soup to nuts. Staff very competent, were extremely careful of all my gardens, and found ways to accomodate/protect the gardens. Roof is beautiful. Everything cleaned up and carted away. Absolutely no concerns, and absolutely the highest recommendations.

They showed up without a supervisor. Some of the work had to be redone but when I pointed it out to the owner, they did come back to fix the issue. It was tough to give directions to them.

They were fantastic. They got the job done time in a good amount of time. I would use this company again

This company was prompt, very accommodating and very professional. We are very pleased with the result.

Overall, the experience was fine, but not great. After having to reschedule our initial date of service (our request), the crew arrived near the end of the window (8-10am). I called the office around 9-9:30 to get a status check and to make sure that I hadn't messed up the date, only to get their answering service, who had no information, but said they would relay my message when the office opened. Not a great start to the day. So the crew arrives and immediately reassess the work to be done and states that it can't actually be done the way it was described to me nor how it is on the work order they got. Second, they did not have the correct materials as stated in the work order or my estimate. Considering that part of the reason that the time between the estimate and the actual day of work was because the contractor told me he needed time to get all the materials together..... a bit puzzling and frustrating since the differences were significant color changes. I did not, however, have the ability to delay the work to yet another day, so told the crew to go ahead. Upon the crew's finishing, I noticed that a couple items that had been discussed during the estimate had not been done. I brought them to the attention of the crew, who told me that they were not part of their work order so they couldnt be completed. I brought all these issues to the attention of the estimator/company and was told that, unlike what I had been told at the estimation, the company did not actually provide service like the missing items, so I must have been mistaken. While possible, I doubt I am mistaken in what I was told. There was also no offer of reduction in price due to the use of the incorrect materials.

Came on Tuesday with estimates. Called Wednesday to let me know they will be there Thursday to drop off materials for the roof on Friday and will be doing the gutters on Saturday. Workers were right on time if a little earlier than I thought and got right to work. They came about 8:30-9;00 the next morning to do the gutters and left about 11 am. I couldn't be more happier. They even sent us a thank you gift! (Thank you, by the way). If we need anything else, we will be sure to give these guys a call back.

Selecting Certified Inc. to replace my roof was a great decision. The entire process went so smoothly I am still amazed by how efficiently the entire process was completed. On the appointed day the material arrived as scheduled, the crew began working on time, the old material was hulled away, the yard was cleaned and the job was completed as promised. The roof looks great and the price was quite reasonable. Without a doubt Certified was a great company to work with. One that I would highly recommend of all my friends.

They were excellent. Tom actually came out and did his own estimates; he estimated $7,000 and it cost us $7,265. His workers were great and he did not charge us for the extra gutter work. I actually even called them subsequently for some references for people to do some work for us. They also did our neighbor’s roof across the street.

I have used two other roofing companies over the last few years for various properties. Each company was pretty good with some disappointments or difficulties here and there to get the job done. Each roofing job was unique, but I decided to select a new company this time. And finally....I have to say that hands down Certified was the best roofing company by a long shot. Why? The team of professionals did a quality job at a great price and were so easy to work with. The entire team was outstanding--from the sales rep. Jim to really pleasant office staff to foreman Rudy and the roof installers. Jim gave me great guidance on the choice of materials (hitting a home run with the shingle selection!), what to expect, the scheduling, and he answered to all of my questions. The site crew wasted no time getting to work. I was concerned and anxious about the threatening skies later in the day and the potential rainfall interfering with the job's completion, but the crew wasn't worried--fully aware of the rain's timeline and knowing exactly how much time they needed. They did a great job from start to finish...and I mean clean finish. During construction, the yard looked like a tornado had passed through, but when I opened my eyes again, all of the debris was gone, and the place was sparkling. And all in one day! You would never have known that roofers were there, except that I hope you would notice my beautiful new roof! Like most people, I wanted worry-free, quality, high-skilled work, performed well, done right, on time, on budget and on schedule. Yes--that's what I got with Certified. Let me save you some time. Don't read any more reviews. Pick them.

Crew did a fantastic job on a very windy day. Jim the sales rep did a great job coordinating everything. Crew actually came a day earlier than scheduled. Jim provided the lowest cost estimate and great customer service.

Certified replaced our cedar shake roof. Jim Lessig, the sales representative, was very knowledgeable about the product, including installation options. The company is one of the few in the DC metro area that works extensively with cedar. Because cedar is required in my community, this was a significant investment and cost. We ended up using pressure treated cedar, as well as cedar breather below the shakes to further extend the life of the roof. Jim came in slightly below the other estimates we received, and was easy to work with. One of the best parts of the experience was the installation. Javier, the foreman, was very polite, punctual, and the job was very well done. I would recommend these guys for future work.

Certified was the first company to give us an estimate on roof replacement, and they set the standard for professionalism, thoroughness of the contract and information given. While we ultimately had our roof repaired instead of replaced, I was very impressed with them in every aspect. We will definitely contact them in a few years when the roof is replaced.

During negotiations and project scheduling, the follow up and communication from the office team is excellent, A+ The job was very professional,clean,efficient and the workmen knew their trade. Certified Incorporated showed us a brochure with all these possible colors and different selections that we could choose from. When they tell you they're going to be here that's exactly what happens. They cleaned everything after they worked.

The initial work on the roof replacement was to begin on 4 Apr 13 but another priority job completion changed the start date to 8 Apr 13. The change was transmitted to me in advance and agreed upon. It did not cause any undue hardship on myself and really made sense because the 5th of April was a Friday and if they were unable to comlete the job by the evening of the 5th, I would have had a mess throughout the weekend or a crew working on Saturday (not a plasant thought for me or the crew). The first thing Monday, the roofing crew arrived and proceeded to tear off the roof and gutters. The work went smoothly with no problems other than a lot of noise. I have negotiated earlier with Jim Lessig (Certified, Inc) to receive the first four replacement roof broards as part of the estimate as I expected there was damage under the old shingles. As the crew worked, they removed and replaced a total of seven boards. Each time they came across a bad board, they allowed me to inspect the board. Since the last three were an increase to the contract price, I appreciated the courtesy. The cleanup on the first day was not complete as the next day, 9 Apr, was to be the real mess with the siding and gutters work. The next day, the small (2 men) crew arrived early and went to work tearing off the siding. They must have been the best at what they do because in a couple of hours, they tore off the siding of half the house. About 10 AM, the big crew arrived and the work went into high gear with the siding being applied as early as 12 noon. The yard was a mess with my old aluminum siding covering the place. It presented a hazard due to the sharp edges. I mentioned it to the Foreman and he immediately started the removal process. The work went into the early evening with the crew working on all aspects of the job in order to finsh that day. At one point, there were personnel putting up siding on three sides of the house at once. While this was going on, two men were removing and replacing fascha boards for the gutter installation. At about 6:00 PM, the work was down to one side of the house with the Foremen looking at work and touching up here and there. Several of the personnel were cleaning up the yard and collecting nails from the lawn. I need to add that the crew removed my existing shutters and replaced them without incident. By 7:30 PM, the truck was removing the last of the unused materials and debris from the yard and preparing to leave. There were nails and small bits of material to be found for the next several days but they did a reasonable job of cleaning up that evening. The next day (10 Apr), the gutter crew arrived (2 men) and proceeded to complete their work in about 3 hours. All the work involved (roof/siding/gutters) received the OK from the spouse and that in itself is a testimonial to the quality of the work. I would definately recommend the company for the above type work. They are very professional, reasonably priced, and customer oriented.

Having vetted several roofers, Certified seemed to provide the best quality and professionalism. They did a good job, but I noticed that they seemed somewhat dismissive of me and my questions after the contract had been signed. I'm not a nag or a person that would have taken up much of their time, frankly they just didn't give a s**t after they had it in the bag. That said, I believe they still did a good quality job of installing the roof. The pricing was more than some other companies, but answers to some of my vetting questions to the less expensive companies left me wondering about quality. Certified does a thorough, quality job and provides a decent guaranty. They put a white membrane over the top of the roof that reflects sunlight and improves energy efficiency.

They did an excellent job. There was no drama and they got it done in the time they said they would. They were very professional.

We had several estimates for a new roof. Jim (the co-owner) came by for an estimate on a day I was working from home. Aside from letting him in and briefly discussing our needs with regard to a roof, Jim was minimally intrusive with the estimate. He was sensitive to my limited time availability and did not force a sit down sales pitch (other companies force this pitch on you). His price was competitive and offered a desirable warranty. They called to tell me when work would begin (as opposed to discussing with me when to start) and arrived on the date agreed (technically we had a huge snow storm on the date agreed, so understandably they started the day after). His crew worked very hard and had the roof done in two days. Out outside looked like a disaster during the project, but they cleaned up so well afterwords you would have had no idea we had just had a roof replaced. This included the overnight between the two days of work. We were really impressed with how clean they left everything the day between and after the project. Their pricing was very fair and we thought we got a high quality product and service for the price we paid.
