They arrived on time and finished in one day although it was estimated to take 2 days The people doing the gutters came on following Monday and replaced all gutters and down spouts. The office staff kept me informed of a change in the start day due to the weather. Very satisfied with their work.

The roof installation went as smoothly as possible given the weather conditions last week with rain and wind. The company is very professional from start to finish and James did his best to explain different roof options without trying to push upgrades that we might not need. They communicate well with the client to keep them apprised of start and end dates for the job. The roofer team lead by Javier showed up 8:00 a.m. and worked long and hard until at least 6:00 p.m. or until dark. They finished the job within the time period estimated. They also made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of the job. I would recommend Certified Incorporated to anyone looking to replace their roof.

I purchased a new roof from Certified a couple of years ago and recently discovered a leak in my bedroom. I called Certified and they sent someone out to check and see if it fell under my warranty and to fix it, if necessary. Turns out the leak was not from the roof, but they fixed it anyway (for a fee). I was very happy with the repairman - he did a good job and told me what the issues were. My only complaints would be that Certified did not (a) follow up with me promptly after I filed my initial claim (took over a month); (b) the repairman did not call ahead - he just showed up. I would use Certified again because they did a good job with the roof.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service provided. James was very professional and provided a timely, fair estimate. While not the least expensive of the several companies I received estimates from, they were competitive and offered the best workmanship warranty. The work was done as soon as the weather permitted and everything looked great.

Outstanding customer service and workmanship from beginning to end. Competitive fair pricing as well. James is very personable and is primarily responsible for our positive experience. My wife and I plan to have more work done by Certified Inc.

They didn't perform any service because they don't do repairs on roofs they didn't install in the first place which is their right. However, I think this needs to be put in their summary so someone is not wasting their and the company's time when they just need repair work and they didn't install the roof. Form the company's own email response: "Thank you for contacting Certified. We do not perform repairs on roofs that we did not install ..."

They were punctual and the billing was straight forward and as agreed, with no surprises. Altogether very professional and helpful with subsequent request to identify specs for skylight blinds. They had to reschedule twice to come for the estimate because of the snowstorm, and then came as scheduled when there was less snow on the roof. They matched the lowest price, agreed to start the job right away to accommodate our schedule, then on the agreed day they came early with a big crew. Although they had not promised to finish the job all in one day, the crew stayed late to finish the roof installation because rain was announced for the night. Then the foreman came two days later as announced and finished the job trimmings and last flashings. The crew was pleasant and left the site clean and without debris. I was very happy and gave them each a tip, which they deserved.

Everything went well. I was pleased with how well everything was explained to me and how responsive they were to my follow up calls. They stayed to their promised schedule, completed the work in the time they said they would, and even came back in the evening of the first day to make sure everything was secured and weather tight when the forecast suddenly suggested we would get rain.

The estimate and scheduling process was difficult. Admittedly, we were attempting to coordinate the contract execution during the holidays; however, the rep we worked with was not responsive to our requests to send a contract. Dealing with the office for scheduling the work was more difficult. You have to call the office, who then takes your information and then the scheduling department has to call you back to make an appointment. We had to call a few times to get the scheduling people to return our call. Once we finally reached the schedulers, we made (what we thought) was a very simple request: we asked them to take a couple before and after photos of the roof. The reason for our request was because there are certain parts of our roof that are difficult to see from ground level, and due to the height of our house and the slope of the roof, it is difficult for us to go up there ourselves. The representative was not accommodating to our request, and made it sound like we were making a huge request. In the end, we decided to drop it pretty quickly (i.e. we just asked once and moved on) but the before/after photos would have been nice (we have family out of town who wanted to see). We were relieved that the guy who actually came to do the work was great -- very professional, and the roof looks fantastic from what we can see. However, the crew left some debris around our yard after they left. They also used our ladder without asking, which was fine, but they did not return it to the storage area and left it out in the yard. Time will tell on the quality of the workmanship, but to our (admittedly) untrained eyes, the roof looks great.

It started as a roofing repair and quickly moved to storm damage which became an insurance claim. They were familiar with the process and quickly submitted all contractor credentials allowing the claim to proceed smoothly. The roof team arrived on schedule and were very respectful of our property. They removed all the debris and did not damage any plants close to the house. A few days after roof was installed, the gutters were done. I smile every time I approach my house now to see how beautiful the roof looks. They gave me a nice selection of roof tile colors so I was able find the right compliment to my bricks. I highly recommend the Certified team. It's a big investment and so important to make it as stress free as possible.

Experienced several problems along the way but we resolved them to our mutual satisfaction. The salesperson Jim, as well as office representative, Ann Marie, with whom I dealt initially, both left the company. When I ran into problems I had to deal with new staff and it did not go smoothly. Problems: 1. Install team headed by Juan created a huge mess in my back yard. They got tar and other stains on my rainbow stone patio. 2. They left black and brick marks all over the new white TPO. 3. They bent/destroyed a small metal storage shelf which they did not move out of the way before throwing roof materials to the ground. 4. They bent and ripped a screen for my screen door which I'd stored in the yard while not in use. 5. Juan failed to report problems to management or to correct them. 6. I had to contact Certified multiple times to get problems resolved. Juan was sent back to clean the TPO surfaced but he failed to remove tar and other stains on the stone patio. The unresolved issues fell through the cracks over the Christmas and New Year holidays. I had left several messages and had emailed outlining problems but had heard anything from them so when Solar Solution came to collect payment after they had installed the solar panels I told them that Certified had not corrected problems to my satisfaction and had not been in touch with me. 7. Tom Keehn, owner of the company, did not contact me until Solar Solution contacted them on my behalf January 4. When Mr. Keehn phoned me on the 4th his tone was unpleasant and negative. He did not ask me what the situation was or why I was unhappy. He had talked to Juan who clearly had not told him the truth. He said that everything was taken care of, that they had not left the stone patio stained with tar, etc. I told him that I did not appreciate his tone and that Juan had not told him the truth. Also, that I had pictures to prove what I said and that Certified's representative James has seen them in December. At that point, we were able to step back and discuss issues more professionally. Mr. Keehn and I agreed that they would get the screen taken care of, metal shelf was replaced and that I would be reimbursed for the costs involved in making repairs to the rainbow stone patio. Throughout this process, I told Certified that I was confident that they were a responsible company and that issues would be resolved. I had to call and email multiple times and had to deal with a changing cast of characters but issues were resolved and Certified, Inc. is indeed, a responsive company. Problems do occur and the proof of a good company is that they make things right in the end. Unfortunately, the staff changes, holidays and misrepresentations by install manager Juan made the process more difficult than it needed to be. Update -- Repaired screen dropped off by James on 1/11/2016. James is getting Invoice to Solar Solution. I will make payment and Certified, Inc. will reimburse me for the costs incurred to remove stains from my stone patio. In the end, I am happy to report that issues are resolved to our mutual satisfaction.

After interviewing four of Angie's List Contractors for a flat roof replacement, Certified Incorporated was by far the best and provided service with a great deal of professionalism. Certified was the first company to reply to my request for appointment and showed on time. The Roofing Specialist, James Pingleton was very informative on how the replacement would be done, provided samples of the roofing system along with a booklet explaining my choice and selection of skylight and final roofing color. Certified Inc. also completed everything needed to make a decision during this initial transaction by providing a estimate right on the spot. Certified Incorporated: -started the job ahead of time; projecting to complete in one day however, prior craftsmanship let us baffled and rain occurred on the second day (crew stayed late to make roof "rain tight" , as they call it :)), project completed third day - the roofing specialist was on site as informed during our initial consultation - the roofer actually removed his shoes before entering my home to check the inside skylight area - all debris was cleaned up in a timely manner; the existing issues resulted in a change of plans. I was overall pleased with Certified's attentiveness in getting my roof replaced. I was also highly content with the administrative support provided by this company as well. The rain, rain has gone away from inside my place, hur-ray!

Crew arrived at 7am on Saturday morning. They came on the weekend because of all of the rain during the previous week. Which was really considerate! The roof was replaced and the area completely cleaned up by 5pm the same day. It looks fabulous!

I received proposals from five other companies and contracted with Certified for quality and price. Tom Keehn, the owner, made it very easy to do business with his company. The roof was completed while I was out of town and neighbors told me the work was impressive.

We are so happy with our new roof. Certified was professional and very pleasant to work with from start to finished. The foreman and crew were great. Also, they were the only company to recommend the Highland Slate Architectural Shingle and it looks fantastic, so happy we decided to go with them.

After reading reviews of other companies and meeting with several of them, I chose Certified. I purchased the roof for my 80 year old mom. She spoke with James Pingleton, and he took his time explaining all that was needed. My mom called me, and I spoke with him also. There was absolutely no pressure sales, just facts and what needed to be done. On the date of install, the crew arrived on time and went right to work. My mom stated once the work was completed, the crew left her deck and yard much cleaner than before they started. They made sure no trash, nails or rubbish was left behind. I am satisfied with the work done by this company. As stated above, I met with other companies prior to Certified, and I felt that I was given the most HONEST detailed review of the work that needed to be done and what was provided.

In the end the roof looks great. James the salesman is really on top of things and cares about his customers. The original crew that did the work missed a few things possibly because their supervisor didn't show up over the two days of redoing my roof. Nevertheless, James came back with the supervisor and they made everything right. I would have preferred to not go through that hassle, but at least he showed he cared and wanted to make sure the job was done correctly. You don't see that kind of care much in the DC area. I would totally recommend these guys. Just make sure you are home when the crew is doing the work and check their work if you have an older home like I do.

The whole process with Certified was smooth and effortless. I was very happy with the process and the final product. James kept me in the loop with everything and was responsive to my communication. I will certainly recommend them in the future to anyone in need of a roofer.

We had our roof replaced in November of 2015. We had them use CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles. They look great. Our salesman was James Pingleton. James was very cordial and well-informed. We got several other estimates. There was one that used the same shingles but was cheaper. The difference was the much stronger 5-Star Warranty offered by Certified. It is transferable to new owners. This is a real plus since we plan to sell our house in the next few years. Be sure you compare apples to apples, as they say. Don?t just go with the cheapest bid. I think the installation was done to very high standards. I say this because it looked good to me and I?m a very serious home renovator. It was a much better job than the last time the roof was replaced. The finished roof also has to be inspected and approved by the shingle manufacturer, CertainTeed, who backs up the very long-term (50 year) warranty. I am not sure if this has been done yet or not. I am waiting to hear and receive my warrant paperwork. I will update this review if this does not take place. The forecast was for rain the second day of the installation, so they brought enough men to do the job in a single day. That was a good idea, but the crews left before finishing some of the flashing in front of the house and cleaning up properly. We assumed they would be back in a couple of days to finish up and didn?t get too excited. However, several days went by and nothing happened. I called James and he was surprised at what I told him. He immediately called the foreman for the job and the foreman came by the next day to finish up. It turns out that the foreman had been on vacation the day of our installation. In retrospect, I wish I had taken the day off to supervise the crew myself. The main problem we encountered was that the crew left dozens of roofing nails on our sidewalk, in the planting beds, in the grass, on the deck and patio, and most seriously, in our driveway. The later resulted in my wife having a flat tire on the Dulles Toll Road at speed. My wife and I picked up many, many, nails ourselves once we realized what the issue was but I asked the foreman to have his men do another sweep when they came by to finish the job. They supposedly did, but we?re still finding more nails and just found two yesterday on the back patio. Some of these were the type with very large heads that can easily land sticking up. These would not treat bare feet kindly. We never had this problem when our roof was replaced before, and that was with a company that didn?t do a good job on the roof itself. At least they cleaned up extremely well. Overall, I would still recommend Certified to my friends with a caution. Make sure the foreman is on the job and watch the crew during cleanup to make sure they don?t just use a blower to move the nails around.

They were wonderful from the moment we spoke on the phone until they finished our roof! James is a great salesman who doesn't push the most expensive options first. He is friendly and responsive! Juan Carlos the foreman for the job was also wonderful, communicative and on time! They did a great job!

.We got three estimates, all for approximately the same price. All companies seemed reputable, but Certified was the only one that suggested the soffit. One company didn't want to put in the skylight. Big plus: Certified didn't require any deposit up front! I paid nothing until the work was complete. Everyone i dealt with was knowledgeable and helpful, from office staff through the workman. One thing I appreciated was that the workers didn't arrive too early - gave us time to get dressed and organized before people were crawling over the house. Then they worked until well after dark - amazing. They also cleaned up extremely well afterwards. You would not know major work had been done on the property. We could not be more pleased with the outcome and .absolutely recommend Certified. If an A++ rating was possible, they would get it..

The job went very smoothly. The crew arrived as promised and were friendly and professional. The job took two days. The crew removed the old roof down to bare wood and replaced plywood as needed. They installed 2 inches of insulation and then a torch down white granular membrane. The chimney was reflashed with copper counter flashing. Everything was cleaned up and I was shown photos of the roof.

Final product looked even better then expected. Replaced all flashing and worked through all issues that arose during the roof replacement without delay or additional costs. Very professional from start to finish. There was small delay to start job, but understandable given the weather dependencies of outside construction work. Did complete clean up job after job finished.

Our roof replacement took a few days due to the continued rain but Cert. Incorp. was able to complete the roofing replacement as quickly as possible.
