Certified Roofing

The quality of work was great. Juan Carlos came back several times to make sure we were satisfied with the job. James was professional and responsive. However, I signed our contract on 7/6 and the job was finally completed on 8/23. I was told the project would last 2 weeks and it lasted 8. I needed to make several calls to James to follow up to confirm when Juan Carlos and crew would come back out to finish the work and pick up their supplies. There were several delays and apologies. Reading other reviews here, our job may have been outside of the norm, but one of the reasons we chose Certified was because of the time frame and they disappointed in that aspect. I would hire again but adjust my timeline of expectations.

Certified replaced our roof and did an amazing job. We had several companies out to provide quotes, and although certified was not the lowest, I felt we would be in safe hands with a competent roofing company. They arrived, replaced the roof, and at the end removed all debris around the house. I would highly recommend Certified to anyone looking to replace their roof.

I have used Certified Inc. in the past to replace my roof. I was completely satisfied with that experience so I went back to them for this job. The installation went very smoothly and the finished job looks very good. The crew was very polite and professional. They were careful not to damage shrubbery or the siding on the house. All materials were as I expected them to be. I had what is known as Leaf Relief covers installed on the gutters (six inch gutters). My neighbor has had a good experience with them (installed by the same company) so I am hoping for the same result (it has not rained yet). The crew did a good job of cleaning up and took away all the gutters that were removed. Our two story colonial took about 3.5 hours to complete. Pricing was very competitive with other I got estimates from.

James was great to work with as an estimator. Juan and his crew, who did the work, were outstanding. They are clearly experts in flat roofs and understand the geometry of what it takes to move water from a nearly flat roof to the gutter. It rained the day after they finished and I saw a clear improvement in how quickly the water moves off the roof. Juan made sure I understood what was wrong, what was needed, and what they did. I interviewed three companies and they also had the longest warranty. I'd highly recommend them.

We've used Certified Inc. before--for roofing and gutters at one of our previous homes--and we'd use them again. They do good work; they are responsive; and their prices are fair. Our neighbors are already asking about the company who did our roof and gutters, and we're already referring them to Certified.

The Certified team did a great job. James came out to give an estimate, and while he wasn't on site during the work he was always easily available by phone and email, and the onsite crews were very professional. We had a few issues with some tricky details (ours was a complicated roof because of the many angles and the adjacent attached properties), but James had a crew out very quickly to make sure everything was addressed properly. I can definitely recommend Certified 100% for the great work they did on our project, and I will definitely not hesitate to use them again the next time we need roof work done.

I appreciated the way that the estimate process was done - it was direct, not over-sold, and I felt respected as a (female) customer - which isn't always a given in these circumstances. We actually waited about 6 months between getting the estimate and doing the work, but they were very responsive when we reached back out wanting to schedule the job. They provided us with addresses of jobs that had the type of shingling/siding we were looking at getting so that we could see what it looked like on an actual house, not just in a brochure. We got a reminder call the day before the work started, which was helpful. The workers who did the jobs generally did very good work and cleaned up very well after the work was completed. The only two constructive comments I'd add are: A) it would have been helpful to have a little more clear communication from the main office about when the workers would be arriving on the day of and updates on changes to the length of the job and B) there was a thunderstorm between day 1 and 2 of the roofing job and though things were covered up, water still somehow leaked through and caused a small amount of water damage to the ceilings of two of the bedrooms - which would have been nice to have avoided. That being said, the company is sending someone out to fix that soon.

Certified replaced my roof and two skylights a few years ago. I turned to them for gutters because my previous experience was so positive. Scheduling is achieved with one call. Estimate acquired quickly and right in time. Jim even called at appointed time to say he would be here in 9 minutes. In a week the workmen came and did a terrific job in 3 hours including cleanup. This is a great company to work with. Totally professional and outstanding.

Original windows in the house that was built in 1966 were replaced. I thought I was going to need new construction windows because some of the sills were rotted, but was informed during the final measuring appointment that replacement windows could be installed and sills could be replaced where they needed to be replaced. This resulted in saving me some money which I appreciated. The windows were installed in the time frame they were promised. The work was well done and the installers were very professional and considerate of my property. They cleaned up well at the end of each day and hauled away all the debris. My property was left neat. I also had new vinyl siding installed and it looks great. New gutters were installed and work done to my specifications. Overall, I am very pleased with the professionalism, workmanship and punctuality of this company. I was very, very pleased that the work was completed when promised. I would used this company again and recommend them to friends and family.

Certified was highly professional. They offered a quote more quickly than other companies and the quote was lower than the others I had received. They also told me about the amazing deals on installing a solar energy system in DC, which was very helpful, as I've always been a fan of solar energy, and we'll be able to get a tax rebate on the roof because we installed solar also. They replaced the roof in one day a few days after we signed the contract. The only complaint I have is I wish they would have told me sooner which day the roof replacement would happen. They only called me the afternoon before.

New roof was installed beginning of August 2016. Purchased the Certainteed landmark shingle which is guaranteed for 50 years and a 25 year service non-pro-rated backed by Certainteed. A good investment. James was very easy to work with. I had 5 proposals and Certified provided the best quote.

No BS. Job done in one day within a week of signing contact. Price reasonable and excellent attention to my concerns. Good crew. Typical colonial roof for house 30x40 with a 12x20 extension and a front/side porch.

I had hail damage to my roof and needed a replacement. I called for three quotes and Certified was the first to respond and provide a quick and easy on the spot estimate. The explanation of the quote and process was very helpful and materials used and the work done was first rate. Very happy with the service, support and results.

Working with Certified was a pleasure. As a Construction Manager by trade, I appreciate working with a firm that does what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it. Several years ago, I got onto Angies list and received quotes from the three of the best rated roofers. I picked Certified because they knew their business, they were professional, they responded timely, easy to work with and their price was reasonable. We did not need a roof right away and pushed off the work as other items on the house were pressing. This year we decided to get the roof done. All of the folks at Certified were great to work with. Certified replaced the roof on a rental property two years ago and I was extremely satisfied with the results. The work and the cleanup was perfect. The employees were helpful and professional. I had them replace the roof on my residence this past week and the results were the same. I highly recommend them.

I always work with James on getting my roof done. He is great and will try to work with you as best as he can. He is a very friendly guy. Once the signed contract goes through, the crew comes out the following week. Havier and his men are amazing at what they do. They are professional and always get the job done right the first time.

We had just purchased a new to us home, and the original 20 year roof was over 26 years old. So to say it needed repair/replacement would be an understatement. We called around to a few roofing companies, but none of them sounded professional on the phone. Certified Inc. was actually one of the last companies we called, but we are glad we did. The level of professionalism on the phone was very high. We scheduled our free estimate with Certified, and they sent James P. (JP) out to work with us. He was prompt (early, in fact) and courteous. JP walked us through the entire process of re-roofing a home. He went through the different choices of shingles, types and lifespan of each type of shingle. JP even explained which colors would be a better choice than others, due to service life, and resistance to mold or moss. JP was very descriptive, without being long-winded. I cannot heap enough praise on our dealings with this company. We ran into some snags on our end, however. Suffice it to say, because of our local power company, we had to wait months between our Certified estimate and actual start date for the roofing job. Throughout the entire time, JP was kind enough to check up on us, to make sure all was well. He wanted to let us know that there was no rush starting the roofing job. It felt good that a company took the time to follow up with a customer after many weeks of inactivity. When we were finally able to start the roofing job, Certified was very prompt and seemed very organized. The speed with which Certified responded and scheduled us speaks volumes of their organizational skills. On the day of the scheduled work, the roofers from Certified were 15-20 minutes earlier than scheduled and JP called us to make ensure the roofing team arrived on time and the project started smoothly. JP also called on the second day as well. The job took two days to complete. Certified did an extremely good job cleaning up after the job was complete, and I found very little roofing debris during my walk around. During my walk around I also looked at the gutters, which were sagging in a few places. Certified did a very good job re-aligning and re-securing the gutters back to our roof. In the end, I am extremely satisfied with our experience with Certified Inc. roofing. The courteousness and professionalism shown by Certified went a long way to create a comfortable atmosphere- which is not something typically associated with most commercial dealings. The level of service forwarded to us during the entire process made us feel extremely confident in our choice to go with Certified. Their prices are fair, and competitive. I would not hesitate to recommend Certified Incorporated to anyone looking for roofing service.

On an extremely hot day in July, Certified Roofing replaced the roof and gutters on the main house and side porch. The company arrived on time and immediately got to work. They covered the lawn and shrubs around the house. Warren, the team leader for the roofers, was excellent to work with. They removed all debris around the house and hauled it away. James Pingleton and Warren were very professional and extremely responsive to any questions I had. I was very please with the roof work done by Certified Roofing and would recommend this company for your roofing work.

Certified, Inc. was fantastic from start to finish. James came out to do an inspection soon after we called and gave us a thorough and detailed quote, including a folder with sample materials. They also were able to schedule the replacement roof within 1-2 weeks of signing the contract, and they completed the project within a day and a half. The crew was timely, kind, and did a great job putting up the roof and cleaning up everything. In fact, our neighbors complimented their work and professionalism. Most importantly, the work on the roof was wonderful - it was put to the test immediately with a hailstorm the first night after it was completed and not a single shingle fell.

I called them and they said they don't do repairs to roof they didn't install.

Certified Inc. workers arrived early and started on time. All of the workers were very respectful and said hello when they saw me outside watching them work. Certified work was of Very high quality. Certified replaced my mother's and in-laws roofs in Montgomery County, MD. and we were impressed with their workmanship both times. Certified replaced all roofing materials with superior products (far better than original builders choice products.) Workmanship shows much better than our the roof our neighbor just replaced. The contractor kept the job site very clean and made sure all nails were picked up all over the property.

New roof looks great. They were responsive, cleaned up thoroughly and did a good job.

Once again they exceeded my expectations.

I initially spoke with James, who was helpful in talking me through the required repairs. In addition, James was very responsive and called me back immediately if I had any questions. The crew that came out was friendly and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Certified did not require a down payment until after the job was complete, which let me know that they were confident with their work and could be counted on to get the job done. Certified Incorporated began replacing our roof within one week after putting together a well-written, detailed quote. The folder that they provided us contained manufacturer cut sheets that described each material that was used on the project. The foreman on the job took the time to explain the work that was being done and to answer all of our questions. We are very pleased with the company's quality of work, the timeliness of the project's completion, and the clean-up that followed.
