Certified Roofing

The work crew was very skilled, friendly, and responsive to my concerns. The quality of work was excellent and was performed right on schedule. The work crew very carefully cleaned up the work site. I've yet to find a single nail left behind.

Certified replaced the asphalt shingle roof on my townhome. They were the cheapest quote of four estimates for an equivalent level of certification and warranty (Certaineed Select Shinglemaster). They came out and gave a prompt estimate and scheduled the job within two weeks of me accepting the contract. Everything looks well done, although its too soon to identify any real issues. I did ask them to come back to finish some cleanup, and they did so pretty promptly. So far, no complaints!

We are satisfied with the final product. We felt the initial work quality was not acceptable. We took pictures of the roof and notified the company of our concerns. Someone responded quickly and promised to address them. Within a week a workman returned and corrected all of the issues we reported.

The estimator appointment was quickly scheduled and went off without a hitch. The job was scheduled promptly and completed within approximately two weeks of signing the contract. The crew arrived right on time and worked politely and efficiently and completed the job as promised. The quality of the work is excellent, from the minor repairs, shingling and ridge vent. Of note, the new flashing and caulking was meticulously done and did not affect the paint job on the brick. The foundation plantings around the house were not affected by the work and there was absolutely no debris left behind. Excellent work and we would hire them again.

James is a knowledgeable, and personable salesman, I think he is a good representative for Certified. One of the reasons I chose Certified for the job is that James is the "superintendent" for the job. I liked having a point person. Once I hired them, James got someone here the same day to patch the roof until the job was scheduled! Two other things I appreciated: 1)James gave me the quote while he was here on his one initial visit, and 2)I asked Julio the roofer to take some photos of the roof which he did. The job was scheduled quickly which I appreciated. I trusted the company, the materials and the work, (the only slight issue was that the job was supposed to take 2 days and took longer because crew members had to be pulled off my house for other work. It was ok because I expected the job to take more than 2 days...)

They gave us an estimate and we scheduled the work several months later - it was nice to have that flexibility. They scheduled the work in a timely manner even though it was a relatively small job and resolved issues as they arose such as needing to replace plywood that they were not expecting to replace. The only challenge was that they gave us an estimate to replace the deck over the roof with new materials which turned out to be way too low for the actual cost of the materials. The cost of the materials were out of their control but wish the estimate had been more accurate. With the increased cost we decided to just go with putting the old deck back over the roof and they were fine with that change to the work. The old deck was fine it was the roof underneath that needed to be fixed anyway.

Certified Inc beat the competitor's prices, the job was completed in 2 days as promised, the crew was very conscientious about keeping a clean work site and protecting exterior areas around my home. I'm 100% satisfied with the job they have done and would recommend Certified Inc to all of those with roofing needs!

After being delayed by rain, we were delayed another week because the insulation had not been ordered ahead of time and was not readily available at Home Depot because of it being an unusual size. Once the project started it was completed with in three days. Overall, the roof looks fantastic and I am happy with the installation itself. It has not rained yet, so hopefully there will be no issues with leaks. The reason I can not give an A rating is due to the crew that did the installation. They were very careless with the materials and clean up. They did not do a good job at preventing our yard from being littered with trash nor did they do a good job at cleaning up their mess. For the price of the new roof, I had expected more from them. After they left, I spent hours cleaning up insulation, plastic, shingles and other trash from our yard. There are so many broken, small pieces of shingles in the yard that they will never get cleaned up. I asked the job manager if he had done a magnetic sweep before he left and I was told that they had. They either did NOT do it or did a very quick job of it because I picked up dozens of nails including an entire roll of nails from the yard. While I was out cleaning up their mess, I had one nail go through my flip flop and nearly pierce my foot! This is extremely concerning because we have three kids and a dog who play in the yard daily. They can't play outside safely now because of this and that makes me extremely unhappy. The workers were also smoking on my property and I found several cigarette butts in my yard. They also left several food containers and wrappers in my driveway. That shows very little respect for the client. Overall, the company is knowledgeable, the price is competitive and the finished work is excellent, but they really lack in professionalism when it comes to respecting the clients property and cleaning up. There needs to be better management of the men doing the work.

Everything went perfectly. Jody was the first person I spoke with at Certified; the customer service was amazing. Jody arranged for James to phone me. As soon as James offered me a contract, I didn't hesitate to sign. I was not at all impressed with the first company I contacted, and I didn't feel comfortable signing with that other company. I was very impressed with everyone I spoke with at Certified Incorporated, from the first phone call with Jody. Jody and Diana were my contacts in the office, and I believe James is in the field. Customer Service was prompt and efficient. Anesto and his three crew members installed the gutters; they clearly know what they are doing. I would definitely hire them again.

Overall the job went smoothly. I was impressed with the efficiency of the process to reach an initial estimate. I had other bidders who were not as professional. The installation crew was friendly, answered all my questions, kept me apprised of progress and worked to cause a minimum of disruption. My roof has not been through its first rain or snow, but from my observations of the installation as it progressed and outward appearances all looks to have been installed professionally. I did need to exercise some flexibility in regards to the schedule as materials arrived earlier than expected and the start date shifted a day earlier then back the original date. Although the magnetic sweep was done for stray nails I have found, at one week past the job completion, 11 nails thus far.

I got a little problem with the rescheduling due to weather but as overall I satisfied with the work done by Certified Inc.

I am generally satisfied with the roof, skylights, gutter and downspouts work done by Certified Inc. James was very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed James’ expertise as a businessman. He was easy to speak with and down to earth. He didn’t rush or push me into signing any contract upfront. Even when he has given me a free estimate I never felt pressured into any agreement. James supplied 2 different groups of contractors. The first group was the roofing crew that also installed the skylights. The second group was the gutter crew that also installed the downspouts and gutter guards. However, I was a little disappointed from the carelessness of the roofing contractors. James’ roofing contract workers could have been a little more careful with my landscaping and garden. They used a heavy tarp to cover the bushes and grass and was nearly destroyed because it burned from the sun. The contractors also covered their heavy machinery on top of my delicate shrubs, crushing them. They were so careless that it almost seemed intentional. The contractors even backed in one of their trucks into my concrete retaining wall, chipping large chunks from the cinderblocks. They were supposed to finish the work in one day but had to come in a second day to finish installing the skylights. When I spoke to James, I requested to have the contractors remove and salvage my old gutters, downspouts and screws. Something was lost in translation because most of my screws were lost and the gutters were thrown down with disregard. I was also dissatisfied that the roofing crew upturned my spotlights without my permission to face the roof so they could use lighting to benefit themselves. They never readjusted the lights back to its original position facing down towards the yard. The cleanup was also sloppy from the roof crew. I found roofing remnants everywhere including many nails in the driveway. They even left an empty water bottle and pieces of the old roof hanging in the tree. The gutter crew was more professional and left a better impression on me than the roofers. I did have one concern on how they installed the leaf guards. They placed each section underlapping as the gutters descended which causes a small lip going against the flow of water but James reassured me that there was no standard way on how they are installed. A minor discrepancy that could have been easily corrected before final installation. Nonetheless, I was more satisfied with the gutter crew which were more professional and did a better job cleaning up and not damaging any landscape and shrubbery. Overall, I am generally satisfied with the quality of work on the job performed from the 2 crews and James’ pleasant communication but dissatisfied with the first crew on their disregard for my personal property. It’s difficult to grade 2 separate crews and the contractor when each one was drastically different from the other. I will grade both crews and James here separately but will average them out as one whole company for this review. We had received proposals from 5 contractors to replace our 30+ year old roof . Certified provided us with the most comprehensive proposal, very good warranty and high quality products. They did great work and based on our experience, I recommend them.

James from Certified was very professional in helping us arrange the contract.Carlos and his team arrived promptly on the scheduled day of installation, replaced damaged fascia and installed new leaf relief gutters and downspouts. The new gutters look great and have greatly improved the overall appearance of our house. I would recommend Certified to anyone.

The crew arrived on time and worked pretty quickly replacing the roof. They were very cooperative when I had questions and explained what they were doing pretty well. There was a problem when the wrong shingles were delivered to my house, instead of to the house of my neighbor, who was also having a roof replacement. I called the company to report the problem, but didn't get a call back Luckily I caught the mistake before any shingles were installed, but that was a slight delay. The final product looks great, including the trim, which is joined very well. I did my own estimate of the additional lumber cost based on what we saw as the job progressed. Overall, it seemed to me the invoice amounts for lumber used were a bit high, but the final cost on the invoice was pretty close to my. estimate. Overall, the company did a great job which looks very professional, and the crew cleaned up very effectively. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for roof replacement.

It's a mixed bag. They had two different crews (roofing and gutters) that came out to work on the roof. The roofing crew did a good job, but they did some damage to the grass and bushes. The quality of the roofing was great, but they were a little sloppy with their workmanship and my property. The gutter crew (part of the same company) did an excellent job and they were very professional, I was very satisfied with this crew. I liked the foreman, he was very professional. But how do you grade someone who doesn't speak English? The foreman spoke English, but the crew spoke Spanish only and it was hard to communicate with them. I asked them to complete a specific task and they failed to do it. They were supposed to show up one day, but did not because of the weather. One guy was late due to traffic, but they were pretty punctual. I would recommend them and I will use them again in the future if I need them.

Wasn't going to say anything, but I keep getting e-mails to leave a review. Job performed properly, except that contractor made a complete mess in our attic. We have pieces of old roof materials/debris all over our attic. I brought this issue up with the contractor, but he claims that cleaning or protecting the attic was out of scope.

I don't think I have had a better experience from start to finish. Their inside representation was informative, helpful and courteous. The initial quote was done around my time that I could take off work. It was thorough but not time consuming. Materials were left for me to review that answered almost every question. The start time was less than 2 weeks and I barely knew they were there. Clean up was great also, again barely knew they were there.

It went very well. The workers showed up on time and were very polite and professional. When there was an unexpected problem, they explained the problem and were very quick to take care of it. The roof looks great now - we are very pleased with the results!

I contacted James after I received quotes from other roofing companies. I didn't need them to come to the house to pitch me on their product becaus,e company with intitials LF and H, uses the exact same products. I ultimately switched to Certified, after signing a contract with LF, because they had much better reviews on Angie's List and also much better pricing. The warranties offered were also better and I even upgraded to the Landmark Pro due to the price still well over $1000 cheaper than the mid-level shingles offered by LF. James was very easy to work with in figuring things out. They also were able to get a crew out to do the job in less than a week. LF needed 3-5 WEEKS. Certified said 10 business days but I'm so glad that it was far less due to the condition of our roof. Certified called to confirm appointments and their crew finished the job in 2 days. They cleaned up very well after each day. The roof looks great and I know it will last for many decades. I am definitely passing this company information to all my neighbors that need work. In fact my next door neighbor is having siding issues that are leaking onto my roof. I don't have to worry about that now, but the company was kind enough to add the diamond deck wrapping and put up the sidings on the ground, that fell from a big storm months ago. That's going above and beyond to help me as a paying customer, and my neighbor, who is not. Thank you Certified!

Certified had a good roofing team on our job with a solid foreman who kept us apprised of how everything was going. Both the roofing team and the follow-up gutter and downspout team finished on time. Our salesman followed up as well both before and during the job to let us know what to expect and was available any time during coordination after we accepted the proposal.

Certified Inc responded to our call after a storm quickly. The crew was friendly and very professional. The repairs and gutter replacement was completed in just a few days.
