Mr. Brooks was punctual, professional and changed the lock very quickly. He was very honest and gave me the option of changing the entire mechanism or only the part that was not working. If I ever have any need for a locksmith in the future, I will call Mr. Brooks at Mr. Quick Pick.

I highly recommend Mr. Quickpick. I called out Mr. Quickpick for help installing a custom lock kit I purchased online. The kit was missing pieces that needed to be ordered from the manufacturer so Mr. Quickpick installed a temporary deadbolt. He was early, worked longer than we had planned for and charged a very good rate. We also had an enjoyable conversation about DC's music scene while he worked.

The coupon they offered was unclear and it was difficult to obtain service. We gave up the money we spent on the coupon because it didn't actually purchase anything... We thought it would purchase the replacement of a door lock. Also, we had difficulty getting clear answers to when they would come out and what they would do for us using the coupon.

He came out last October 12 and he was okay. He was prompt. He came when he said he would and he went to Home Depot and got the lock himself and he installed. So, that was very much appreciated. Overall I liked him. I paid $20 for the service but when he went away he take $150 extra this was because I had forgotten to buy the lock so he got me a lock but still I think $150 might be a little expensive.

Charles seems to be a very nice person with all sorts of knowledge in multiple unrelated areas. I believe he did not act accordingly of a local locksmith with this job. I asked him to install deadbolt lock (I purchased from Home Depot) on the upper part of door. He explained the door was metal and he could not install the lock, but could replace the existing lock with the lock I supplied. I paid him additional $50. He called a few days later and said the lock installed was illegal in DC, he could lose his license and he needed to come back and remove the lock. He returned on Sunday Nov 3, and switched the locks out. I feel he should have known it was illegal, hereby alleviating this entire issue, I mean this is his trade, correct? Not to mention, I just met with another locksmith who informed me that of course you can install another lock on a metal door, with the right tools. So now I am wasting more time returning the lock to Home Depot, purchasing another one and starting again. I WANT MY MONEY BACK that I paid for this deal. Charles told me, "he performed the service." Are you kidding me.

He forgot the first appointment we set up, and then he was a half hour early for the second one (better early than never). A friend came over to supervise for the second time, since I had to be at work. I had asked Mr. QuickPick in writing when I signed up and again verbally to have the front and back doors keyed the same, but they had different keys when I got home. This man seemed like a smart guy, so I'm not sure how my request was not clear.
Since the bill was higher than I expected even with the Angie's List deal, I was reluctant to try to get him to come back and change one of the locks.
I have to wonder if these "deals" are not such good deals after all, if they result in a rush of business for the company and lead to hurried, disorganized, or distracted work.

I wanted the locksmith to swap out locks on my front and back door. The back door was no problem but he struggled for over three hours on the front door bolt lock - taking off the lock, putting a new one on that stuck and didn't lock well and then re-placing the new lock with the old, which now doesn't work at all! Although he was friendly and polite I was very disappointed that this wasted my time and I ultimately ended up paying for something that didn't even reach my objective of getting a better more secure lock!

The service was good. The man from the company came promptly. The lock was a pretty high-end lock and it was fairly new but it was stuck so I could not really lock the door. It seems to work perfectly now. The only glitch was I purchased the big deal and he said that the big deal was just for his house call thing so there was an additional charge. It was not outrageous but I was not expecting it. So, I was a little bit like, "Oh!" Maybe they need to explain that better in the big deal because it is a little bit misleading. He left and about two weeks later, the lock was doing that again and I called him again and I have to say that he came right out, looked at the lock again, did another repair or whatever to it and it has been working since. He also did not charge me for that followup. So all in all, I was happy with his service and especially sometimes, when the fix does not stay or there is something not quite right when people come back, they are not too happy about having to come back but he was very amiable. He came right away and I even asked him. I said, "Well, is there an additional charge for your having to come back?" And he said, "Oh no! If I did not get it right the first time then I have to..." In other words, we paid to have it fixed and it is not fixed. So, I was very happy with the way he dealt with me in terms of customer service. I do not know if he was responsible for doing the writing of how the big deal of the day was but it kind of was misleading to me.

He didn't let me know I should purchase, he told me early on that he would bring the lock and then the day before, it's in the morning that I could have gone out and purchase one, he said that he was going to stop by Lowe's and pick one up and what color did I want. I was picked something completely different, if I had known he wasn't going to bring a choice of locks, I would have gone and purchase something for him to install and he charged what the lock costs plus more for the fact that he had to go and pick it up. That didn't worked out so well and he also left a big chunk of wood taken out of my door frame that I'm going to now have to have someone else come in and patch. He also stripped the paint off in the front of the door and I'm going to have to have someone else patch that as well. It just didn't go smoothly as I would have liked and it was a lot more expensive that I would have realized that he wouldn't be responsible for the cost of the lock but I wish he had let me know that I should pick one up and have it here for him. Essentially, he charged me $19.99 and then he charged me $100 for labor to install, and then another $100 for the lock itself.

chose 4 pins to substitute for the pins in the locs; problem solved in a little over 1 hour. We set up an appointment between 1:00-2:00. I sat around and waited for him to show. He never showed. Around 8:00 that evening, I received a phone call saying that I needed to schedule the appointment. We had an appointment scheduled in the beginning. I rescheduled the appointment. After three to four phone calls, he still didn't show. I ended up not using his service.

I even requested on one of the emails that you send me your phone number, you never did. I was notified by Angie's List that you requested your service fee charges refunded. That was when I stopped trying to contact you through the Angies's List email. I feel that I was injustly rated when you never returned my emails or contacted me on the phone.
