Glad I found them before I let the other company I had interviewed get away with ripping me off with their tank rental charges and high prices.

It was fine. A few minor setbacks. Old condenser was seeping into the furnace. I had to get a new heat pump and condenser. Everything was resolved to my satisfaction and without a long delay.

I requested various companies to give me a bid on the replacement of my oil fired furnace. I got my first bid from a company that I had used for over 40 years. I then requested a bid from Petro Oil. Petro Oil showed up promptly to review my old furnace system and give me a bid. The Petro sales rep was looking at my air conditioning unit as soon as he arrived. I told him that I needed a price on my furnace. He politely introduced himself and told me he was identifying the AC system so he could configure a proposal that included a properly sized fan that would be pushing the air for my AC unit during the summer. He then reviewed my furnace and quoted me two prices for different brand furnaces. Both bids were very competitive. I emailed my response early the next morning. He immediately responded. I inquired about service for the system and they immediately responded and offered me a $150.00 rebate on my first oil delivery if I would switch to there service. I scheduled the installation and got a call offering me a date sooner than I expected. This was during a time when night temperatures were dropping into the teens. The technician arrived early on the install date and installed the furnace. No problems. All items promised have been fulfilled. Petro delivered.

Petro Home Services is the WORST! We own an older home that needed a flue pipe replaced. The flue pipe was replaced only after 3-4 different service calls, each person giving a different story on what work needed to be done. Only after threatening to sue, did we finally get a technician with the correct parts on his truck to show up to complete the work. As for the A/C service, they are horrible as well. We called to have the A/C serviced and the tech told us we needed to purchase a new unit because the unit was leaking freon. When we asked the technician if he was able to tell us where the unit was leaking freon, we were told that it was raining outside so he could not provide that information. Needless to say, after having another A/C company check out the unit we discovered that we did in fact have a leak, but we didn't need to purchase a new unit. I would not recommend using this company!

Horrible, horrible stuff. We were on automatic delivery with Petro and didn't have any problems for a long time. We got a new furnace, which instead of the 100% oil heat from before, is a heat pump with an oil backup. So once the temperature falls below freezing, the oil kicks on. Not exactly unheard of. We informed Petro, but they evidently messed it up, because last year, after a particularly cold span, we ran out of oil. Petro was pretty good about fixing it when it happened though, sending out a delivery truck the same day and having the driver prime our system. Well, this year has gone differently. We again ran out of oil despite being on automatic delivery. We realized this on Monday, January 15. We called immediately, were on hold for 20 minutes, and then told Petro that we have two small kids in the house and would appreciate some help as soon a possible. They were unable to provide help that night, but said that someone would come the next day between 8:00 a.m. and noon. My wife stayed home from work to meet the technician to let him in. He showed up around 3:00 p.m.; three hours late. He did however give us 10 gallons of emergency oil and get the system going again, and then said that the delivery would come that night by 7:00 p.m. No such delivery ever came. So we called Petro this morning (Wednesday) around 11:30 a.m. and spent another half hour on hold before getting someone. That person told us that the full delivery wasn't scheduled until "tomorrow" (Thursday). When we expressed concern that the 10 gallons might not last that long, we were told that we would just have to call back if we ran out of oil. Sure enough, we ran out of oil again at around 2:00 p.m. We called Petro again. 20 min. hold. Told them what was happening, and was put on hold again, and then disconnected. Waited for call back but didn't get anything. So called again. 20 min. hold. They said they would send someone out this afternoon to do the delivery and prime the pump to get the heat working. Delivery came, but no one primed the pump, so we are sitting here with a full tank of oil, but no way to burn it. So this will be the second night this week without heat. All because their communication is absolutely terrible.

It went well as usual. Petro's staff is very professional and thorough.

When I had scheduled the appointment, I told the associate that I would most likely need Freon for my system. My appointment window was 12-4. The technician didn't arrive until 5 pm. He performed the tune-up but he did not have any Freon to put in my system. He told me he was not certified to put Freon in. He said he was only able to perform the tune-up. I told him and Petro I have never heard of such an arrangement. How is a customer supposed to know in advance what they may or may not need? Why would you have two sets of technicians for your A/C work? I've never had that problem with other companies. I don't think the tune-up was that beneficial either. He put some readings on my service worksheet. I had to take off work for this tune-up to be performed. I also had to take off the next day because the technician that was sent out couldn't put Freon in my system. I lost two days of work for something that should have taken one visit. I told Petro I would never use their A/C service again. I feel I shouldn't even had to pay for the tune-up because I don't think it was worth it. I've sent Petro the money for the tune-up and the Freon. I would not recommend them to anyone for their A/C service.

We got three quotes. The estimator from Petro arrived exactly on time, was very knowledgeable and showed us the current, more efficient, version of our old furnace (something the rep from another company had just told us didn't exist - but a more expensive option they had would be just fine). They worked with us to meet the price quoted by another company and I got a great rate on fuel oil for the next heating cycle. Installation was prompt and the two men who did the work were very professional and nice. They hit a bit of a snag, not their doing, but stayed late and got the job finished that day. I'd use them again in a heart beat and trust the quality of other services they offer.

Fine except when the guys spills some oil on my lawn and kills it.

Good. The technician was polite, professional and completed his work quickly. Unfortunately he did not have the paperwork that is usually given for a furnace tune up which describes eactxly what he did. Had he done so I would have rated him higher.

It was free. We had to reschedule twice. If they would have shown up at the promised time, the first time, I would have given them an 'A.'

They lied to us they should waive the charge the tank still had Gas on it we didn't use they should owe us.

Most of the information I got was from my wife only, they came in and we were afraid of a particular issue with it. He indicated that he ran through the diagnostics, he tested the trip points to make sure that the systems were turning on and off as appropriate and everything seemed to be fine. It wasn't hot enough to cause relief to go off assuming the relief was working properly. The were very knowledgeable. The biggest heat was the fact that they were late. Coming in late at night and it wasn't a weekend but it was certainly after hours and I thought it was reasonable. i m under contract with petro. my ceiling price is $313.9 per gallon and thats what they charge overtime they fill my tank. when i signed into the contract it was explained to me that the price would never be over my ceiling price but could be lower based on current oil prices. i called another oil company and their price is $1.00 less per gallon but i m under contract and can't buy oil from any other company but petro. i called customer service and they said it was built into my price in case oil prices went up i would only pay 313.9 per gallon. they also have a contract with variable market price which is $360.9 per gallon right now still .50 a gallon more tan competition. last year on the coldest day of the year i ran out of oil on automatic fill and they still didn't come till next day. please don't let these sales people talk you into signing a contract. i can't wait till my contract is up so i can dump petrol and start paying competitive prices for heating oil.

The Petro team did exactly what they proposed to do on time and with high quality. The project took over 6 months from beginning to end due to delays by Washington Gas. The team for the oil tank removal did they job when they said they would. They were careful to minimize disruption to my property and they cleaned up after they did the work. I had a minor hazmat situation, and they recommended a consultant to help me with this. The team for the furnace and hot water installation were on location when they said they would be here. This was a rather lengthy process because of the terrible service by Washington Gas. But the Petro team was excellent. The installation looks good and most importantly, the furnace and hot water heater have worked great. My primary contact with Petro was through sales. The agent was extremely knowledgeable and responsive throughout the six months. His information and suggestions caused me to select Petro from 5 other businesses that I interviewed for the project. And I am very pleased with the result. I highly recommend Petro Home Services.

I felt They are the most kind company to customers. They make sure that no one will be left without heat . Theeir customer service people are very poffessional and kind. They work with you the way you are most comfortable including payment schedule as well as delivery options. Only problems was that the oil price was higher than other companies. It was $4.250 per gallon.COD company offer $3,45 a gallon but you will not be able to receive quality customer care like Petro. The customer service representative told me that they would try to get the best price possible. I will let you know how much it is. Anyway, petro is a great company.
