Priddy Chimney Solutions was founded in 1982 in Bethesda, Maryland. To we are a full-service chimney company offering sweep, repair, and artisanal masonry expertise. We service Washington, D.C. and its surrounding suburbs; greater Baltimore, including the I-95 corridor between the Baltimore (I-695) and Washington (I-495) Beltways; as well as northern Virginia. Called firm and made an appt for the next day. Â Came and assessed problem. Â Showed me pictures of situation on roof. Â Would have fixed right away but it was threatening rain. Â Made appt for later in the week. Â It rained that day, too, so they came the next day and did the repair. Â Showed me photos of the completed work. Â When the next rain came there were no leaks.

"I think that you caugh him of guard with the telephone review and we didnt benefit from it. We did work for him for a few years now. We did a beautiful walkway, Custom Brick Mailbox and Custom Masonry Arch over the rear chimney. The Chimneys that needs pointing are both the left and right chimney and are over 55-60 ft tall. We will need 10 sections of scaffold and it will take 4 days each chimney. I'm sorry he wasn't happy with the price ( FREE ESTIMATE) but he knows the detail we take to do the job correctly. We wish you the best!! We want the review to reflect the past work we did for him that has had him call us each year for a new project!!"

The technician came on time and looked around the fireplace and chimney. They diagnosed the leaking problem and let me know the estimate for fixing. He showed me photos and answered every question I asked, kind and professionally. It was nice experience.

The work was done well, they were very clean and tidy. My only complaint would be with the scheduler in the office. The crew that came to give the estimate and did the work, said it was a two day job; however the office/scheduler said it was a 1 day job. Needless to say it was a two day job and so we had to re-schedule for the crew to come back another day.

Dryer vent: they identified the stack on the roof which was for the dryer.
They then removed the 5-10 pounds of lint from the vent.
Steps: they removed all the loose brick, keeping them in order.
They then mixed up new mortar and re-installed the stoop.
It has held upwonderfully in the snow and ice.

Finally showed up (late) for an appointment but had their own idea about what should be done - irrespective of what I wanted. Estimate provided was exorbitant. I would never recommend this company.

"I will mail you a copy of your estimate that was given to you and another copy mailed 7/29/14 to you in a proposal format. I personally was at your house, so this rating is outrageously wrong. We did not miss the first appointment with you cause when our tech Saul came the first time you weren't home and then you told us your work schedule and Reset !! It is our job to give you suggestions to fix your water problem, water is a big issue and we won't do a job if we cant fix the problem correctly. If you have drainage issues the base of your patio needs to be built correctly or it will fail again and waste your money!! I am truly sorry that you feel like giving us an "F" Rating" ---- We deserve a little more credit. We drove to your house, twice, NO CHARGE ,came out provided an estimate, typed out a written proposal thru our contracts department and mailed to you. If you didn't like it or it was priced more then you expected or could afford to do it the correct way, then don't use us."

Provider arrived on time, was careful with cleaning equip., and put abrasive brushes up and down in the chimney to thoroughly clean. A drop cloth was used to keep everything clean. They exited with out any mess.

I had originally contacted another top-rated chimney sweep company that stood me up, so I placed a request through homeadvisor and Priddy Clean contacted me within 10 minutes and was available to come the next day AND they offered me a promotional price.
They arrived on time (in fact, a wee early but I'm sure they would have waited until service time if I hadn't been home) and cleaned and inspected my firebox and chimney. They charged me the promotional price, no attempt to upsell me with more work or more expensive work, cleaned up, and left.
No drama, just got the work done.

We had Priddy Clean come out in 2013 to repair the cap and mortar on our chimney. They were really responsive to our request for an estimate, and once we evaluated three estimates, we called them and scheduled something fairly quickly. The cost of the initial repair- I don't recall. They did a wonderful job - hardly any mess was left after they cleaned up. Our chimney stack looks really nice now and is protected from the wind/rain.
During the initial repair, the mason took a picture for us of the work completed, and mentioned a crack inside the chimney- which he also showed us a picture of. Since then we've know it was not safe to have fires in our fireplace, thanks to them!
We called them back out recently to investigate a possible blockage in our appliance chimney. They scheduled something really quickly and we were pleased with the work they did. They identified the problem we were having and the inspection itself was only $57. The inspection revealed another safety hazard created by our plumber. We've since had our plumber back out to fix the blockage and our appliances are exhausting properly now. Another "Save" by Priddy Clean!
We are putting the fireplace repair on our list of to-do's for this year- and we will be using Priddy Clean.

They were amazing. i had three different crews at each time to come and help. I first installed a new damper, however, it was very hard to open. Another crew came and loosened it and provided addtional suggestions. We decided that we wanted it tight again to prevent cold air from coming in. They came out a third time and made it right. The crews were nice, punctual and friendly. I liked Priddy.

Servicemen arrived several hours later than the window of time given when scheduled. They cleaned and inspected the fireplace and made recomendations for repairs. They were going to leave without checking the chimney cap until it was bought to their attention. It was now about 6:30-6:45pm and dark outside. They went outside and got their ladder and went up to inspect chimney cap in the dark with flashlights.
We did receive a follow-up letter from Mr. Priddy, the owner that included a list of recomended repairs and the cost.

This company is useless! After contacting them and talking at length with a representative, I made an appointment for them to come to my home and replace the crown on my chimney for today 12/13/14. I was given an appointment schedule by their representative and was assured they'd be on time and efficient doing their work. Today, when the appointment time came and went with no show, I called again and was told they didn't have a record of my appointment ! The incompetence of this company to make a simple appointment is beyond belief. With this type of customer service they should be out of business, hopefully sooner rather then later !
