He was very professional. He knew what he was doing. He gave good advice and tips. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend them.

John came to repair old gas cooktop but was unable to repair due to lack of parts due to age. Our house was on the market and he suggested replacing the three very old kitchen appliances to enhance the sale of the house. He said he had a used wall oven that would work in the space of the existing oven. A few days later, Elijah came to remove all the old appliances we were replacing and installed shut-off valves for each of them. A week later John and his crew (Elijah and Kirk) installed the new stainless steel gas cooktop, new stainless steel dishwasher and the used updated digital wall oven. The used wall oven looked almost brand new. They also put in a wood panel to cover-up the space left by the old wall oven. They tested each appliances to ensure each was working properly. John's crew arrived as expected and was very professional. They left the work area undamaged and was very careful since we had just put in new tiled floor in the kitchen and left the work area clean.

We called a few places, but Alco was the first to respond. They came less than two days later, had the part we needed, and fixed the problem in less than an hour. Their technician was on-time, polite and very professional. Overall, it was an excellent experience (with a pot of boiling water).

They were prompt, efficient and courteous.

I had an incredibly difficult time getting a company to service an antique stove that I own. Most repair people suggest I throw it away, which was just the last thing I wanted to do. After dozens of frustrating calls and hours and hours on-line to find a part, Alco was the only company that was truly polite over the phone and in person. John was extremely nice, great communicator, on time and preserved a little piece of history when nobody else had respect for it. Thank you, John!

Our washing machine's cold water was flowing much slower than the hot water. When I called Alco to schedule an appointment, Kurt was able to give me the day I requested and time frame that was convenient, even when I had to reschedule due to predicted bad weather. The repairman, Joey, arrived within the two-hour period promised. He was competent, knowledgeable, pleasant-mannered, and determined the cause of our washer's problem right away. He got right to work, and explained what he was doing. He seemed to know quite a bit about washing machines, as he was able to discuss some of the pros and cons of various features in other brands, and he surprised me with his knowledge of some of the old washers from many years ago. He was pleasantly conversational but didn't waste any time, and even when he got a cell phone call on the job, he told the caller he would get back to them later. The whole service visit took less than an hour, and the bill was very reasonable, I thought.

It went quite well. I am stationed overseas and am renting my home in Hyattsville. After hearing about these appliance problems from my tenant, I contacted ALCO by e-mail and set up the service completely online. You need to have the details of the appliances (make/model/serial number) before you contact them, otherwise you're wasting their time. I was very satisfied, as was my tenant. The price was just what they said it would be.

John came by late on a Friday and could fix the GE Fridge with a part from his truck. For the oven hinges and the ice machine gasket, he had to place an order. Two weeks later he returned and fixed both the oven and the gasket with the parts that he had ordered from the manufacturers.

The repairman came on time and quickly diagnosed the problem with our washing machine. The price he quoted for repairing it ($150) was reasonable, but he said that given the washing machine's age, he recommended just getting a new one. He recommended specific brands that he said would be reliable. He also looked at our dryer (which we'd thought was about as old as the washing machine, but turned out to be much younger), told us how old it was and said that it looked as though it had many years left in it and we did not need to replace it when we replaced the washer. I was very pleased with his advice, and will definitely call Alco again the next time we need something repaired.

The technician came at the time specified and performed the repair. The technician understood that the problem re-occurred after another company supposed to have repaired about 6 months back and installed a component to prevent the problem from occurring in future. Reasonably priced and seems to be knowledgeable.

John came the next day as promised, and checked out the fan which was not moving. He had the part (fan) in his vehicle but as it turned out, it was a wire connector to my fan that was faulty. He replaced the connector and it worked fine. I did not have to pay for a new fan, only for the service call ($52, far less than some others who wanted between $85 and $99) plus the labor charge. John was very knowledgeable about appliances, said he had been working on them for approx 30 years. The company repairs all major appliances. I recommend them highly.

The repairmen called during the two hour window I had been given by the scheduler. The repairmen was polite, arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and explained the repair to me. The job took 20 minutes; $70 for parts, $15 for labor; the trip was $52, and tax of $3.50. I would definitely use the company again.

I have used Alco for many years and am extremely satisfied. They are highly professional, always on time, charge reasonable rates, and have made recommendations that saved me LOTS of money.

Great service from start to finish; they came in a timely manner, were very professional both on the phone and at the house. They were on time and very speedy with the repair. I will definitely call them again for any other repairs.

They're very reasonable and worked around my schedule by showing up around 7:00pm so I didn't have to sit and wait for them all day. I'll continue using them and would recommend them to anyone!

The repairman was on time. He completed the work as requested and was polite. The repair work was done and very close to the estimated repair. I highly recommend their services.

The problem occurred over a weekend, when Alco isn't open, so I left a phone message. I got a phone call back first thing Monday, and John was here early the same afternoon. He was prompt, polite, very professional, and incredibly informative -- couldn't have been better. I'm thrilled that I used Alco instead of another service and I will definitely call them again if there's some other appliance problem that needs dealing with.

This company is great! The appointment was set within 3 days of my call. I was asked to call back on the day of my appointment for a more accurate arrival time and was told that the tech. would call prior to that to say he was on his way. I called on the day, was given an approximate appointment time, and the tech. called promptly at that time. He arrived a few minutes later and was pleasant, quick, courteous and friendly. He cleaned up after himself. After he left, he called back to tell me about a $30 billing error, and I got a refund! If promptness and courtesy aren't enough, the ice maker actually works better than when it was new!!

THEY REPAIRED MY DISHWASHER WITH A PART THAT COST SEVENTY DOLLARS. EVENTUALLY IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. SEARS EVENTUALLY DELIVERED A NEW ONE. THE NEW ONE HASN'T CAUSED MANY PROBLEMS.

I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH ALCO FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE BEEN SATISFIED ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH THEM EXCLUSIVELY FOR ALL OF MY LARGE APPLIANCE REPAIRS. THEY ARE RELIABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY ARE WITHIN THE MARKET RANGE FOR PRICES AND I BELIEVE THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH THEM. ON MANY OCCASIONS, THE OWNER PERFORMS THE SERVICES PERSONALLY. THEY ARE ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS AND RECYCLE OLD APPLIANCES WHEN THEY ARE REMOVED FOR DISPOSAL. I LIKE THIS COMPANY AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
