Description of Work: My service call was to replace the rod in my old hot water heater. Although they had what they thought was the right rod with them, it turned out to that this water heater needed a special order part. I had an honest discussion with the man about just replacing the water heater. The cost to just install a good quality replacement was over $400 (not counting the cost of the unit itself). I'm sure this company provides excellent service and may consider them in the future when I do a large remodel. However, I cannot justify a $400 labor cost to install a hot water heater which my brother could do in a short time for nothing. It could be all plumbing businesses have high hourly labor but I felt this was more than I was willing to pay for a simple installation. I checked Sears and got an installation estimate online for one of their units and it was approx $250.

Description of Work: My 2nd floor bathroom toilet was clogged & backed up into the tub. All my efforts to clear with a toilet snake & chemicals were to no avail. Eventually the seal on the toilet gave way & the tank refill water started running down behind the walls, blistering the paint in the rooms on the 1st floor. A Clear LIne came within 2 hours of calling them, corrected the issue, cleaned out the tub, and installed a new toilet for me (using a new toilet I was intending to install in the basement). Working with Bob was great! He came when he said, patiently answered all my questions and I thought he was very fair on his price. Bob was at the house for 2 hours, and took the broken toilet and boxes with him. When he left - I had a ready-to-go bathroom, much to my daughter's delight (& my relief!). I would definitely use A Clear Line again - and, in fact, have already asked him for pricing on a few projects....
