I have had a year-long contract with them for the past few years and will continue doing so for the foreseeable future.
In short, these guys are great! I don't know anything about lawn care besides for the basic mowing. After a year or 2 in our new house the lawn was not looking too healthy. Our neighbor had some invasive weeds that had taken over their entire lawn and was conquering ours. We had bare patches with no grass for no apparent reason and other unsighlty stuff, all the while having a crew who took good care of the all the mowing and hedges.
So I walked around the neighborhood and found someone with a real healthy looking lawn and he told me he used these guys so I gave them a call. The people who came to look at the property did a thorough walkthrough of our property and explained about all the different issues going on in our lawn. The outlined a specific plan to address them and explained it would take until the next growing cycle until I would really notice the difference. I thought it was just a sales gimmick, but I signed a year contract anyway because I certainly wasn't going to do it myself and was looking for a turn-key company that did everything and did it well.
Sure enough, after about 6-7 months of them coming out often (I never called them, but they always left detailed notes and brochures after each visit about the treatments), the transformation became quite noticeable and soon thereafter the weeds were gone, the bare spots had filled in and the grass had a strong healthy sheen. I have a large front lawn on a corner lot on a busy intersection, and I get compliments all the time about how nice my lawn looks and it is thank to these guys.
I also really appreciate the company's honesty and integrity. They have many products and additional services and they have never tried to upsell me when I ask about them, as they say they are not needed for my lawn, In addition, the few times I called them because of a weed breakout, they were over within 24 hours and took care of the problem, sometimes requiring multiple visits, always at no fee - it is all included with the standard contract.
In short, they are professional lawn care expert, both in name and service.

After he finished I still had to come out and ask questions about the details of my service and what exactly the service included. Even when I called the office to confirm the appt. I still was in the dark as far as what to expect and how the landscaping service worked. Once I understood what was happening I felt better and I would recommend the service but I wish they were more personable especially for rookie customers like myself.

I sent email from the website and received call back from Mark the owner. He's came to my house the next day and provided a detailed written estimate. Mark is very knowledgeable about the industry. I agreed to price and within same week his team began first treatment. So far I'm impressed...

I asked for and received an estimate for several lawn treatments and an overseeding. I received a through estimate for all services to be performed. Only problem was the estimate was 20% more than the company I eventually decided to use.

The called me to schedule the treatment. They were here on 11/20/13 as promised at 8:00 a.m. They treated my front and back lawn and left.
They have actually been treating my lawns since April 2012. There is such a great difference since their treatments. My lawn is more greener and a lot healthier than every before. I love their service.

We didn't use them but they were very prompt and professional with their estimate. They called me back and they were honest in their delivery. They even said that I can go ahead to check around and so they gave me a guy off the street to call.

The first time I called them, they didn't call me back. When I called them again, I decided to go with them but was not happy with their services after the 2 appointments. To their credit, they have refunded my money. I think there was just a communication breakdown. My lawn just doesn't look as good as I think it should.

"As our Operations Manager explained to (Member name removed) on his visit to her property, she had an extremely poor lawn, very full of weeds. In his discussion he informed her that we would be able to control the weeds, but she would then have very little grass and strongly recommended that she would need seeding once the weeds were controlled. (Member name removed) chose to go ahead with the weed control but not the seeding. We did two weed control applications which controlled the weeds but left her with bare spots where the weeds had been and very little grass. Seeding now would help to make her lawn more attractive and grass would fill in the bare areas where the weeds are now gone. We make every attempt to satisfy our customers and provide the best recommendations for having an attractive lawn. In an effort to satisfy (Member name removed) we have discontinued further treatments and refunded her money. Pro Lawn Plus, Inc."

The group is professional, courteous, and what I was really after...locally owned. Services seem to do what they should as our lawn has looked better since we started with this company.

they offer general updates on the conditions in the region, not so much about my lawn. They do not provide an assessment of the efficacy of their treatment; they treat according to schedule and then leave. They rely upon me to tell them what is working and what is not. They communicate via telephone instead of email that is targeted. They are generally responsive when called. The top managers at the company are very knowledgeable. I have no insight into the knowledge levels of the individuals that show up to do the service.

I don't think my lawn looks any better then before they started. I have just as many weeds and brown spots as everybody else on my street. In some cases I have more weeds then those who do nothing. I for all they have done my lawn is not very drought tolerate. I would say a good 50% of my lawn is brown and dead. I will most likely not renew with them.

"We received (removed member name) review on September 9th. He had started our service in March and had received three regular treatments; a soil test; an organic root stimulant treatment and grub control thus far. I inspected his property on September 10th. I noted that he had several varieties of invasisve grasses that are not selectively controllable. He also had some broadleaf weeds and some crabgrass. It had been six weeks since his last treatment and it had been close to a month since we had any significant rainfall. After looking at the lawn, I thought it would be best for me to personally meet with Mr. Halpren to walk the lawn together and show him the different items I described above. We did meet the following Monday evening. I did show and explain the different species; we discussed shade and drainage issues and another area that had no topsoil at all - which looked bad. We also noted that his adjacent neighbors did absolutely nothing to their lawns thus their lawns were mostly weeds. I told Mr. Halpren that we would schedule his last treatment for the beginning of October, which is excellent timing for a fall fertilizer/weed control application -and that I would inspect his lawn several times next year in between treatments to monitor its progress and make changes to the program if necessary. I told him that the shady, poor drainage and poor soil area in the back right corner might not respond that well because of those limiting factors. Otherwise, I said I expect to achieve better results next year."

First contact 7/2/2013, no response. Figured it was near the holiday, so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Contacted them again 7/11/2013...still no answer. Very disappointing.

I was notified in advance so I knew to expect them. The technician arrived on time and performed all the expected tasks. The application took care of most of the weeds and really greened up the lawn. The only downside is that the grass is so healthy that I need to cut it about every five days or it gets too thick. I can live with that.
This is the second year that I have used this service and the first and only lawn service I have ever used. They were professional from my first contact with them last year. They were right on time for the first appointment, did a through assessment of the problems with my lawn and laid out an annual plan of treatments that worked wonders. I plan on continuing to use them to care for our lawn.

Called Mark who came to see the property promptly, left a detailed estimate and 6 season plan to get rid of crabgrass and weeds in yard. He did the work in the fall (aeration and seeding) and then a fall fertilizer treatment. Then came out in spring to do a spring treatment. So far yard is way better than last year this time. I have also called Mark on a few occasions to ask questions and he's always available to respond by phone or email. He also came by the house to check the lawn and walked the property with me to explain what certain grasses were and what to expect.

The cost is comparable with most of the services I've used in the past. The only difference this time is that my lawn has never looked so good!. I've even had compliments from the neighbors. The staff is very professional and even telephones the day before they're scheduled to come out. So far I'm very pleased with the work and would highly recommend this company.

I've waited several months to post a review as I wanted to see the results of the lawn treatment over a significant period. Our front yard is shaded and the grass had gotten thinner with each passing year.
In July 2011, a Pro-Lawn Plus representative visited my house, assessed the lawn and answered all the questions I had. I received a written estimate/invoice for the rest of the calendar year. I could pay for each treatment as it is performed, or pre-pay for the rest of the year and save 5%. I pre-paid ~$400 for the rest of the calendar year which included a soil test and summer treatment in July, late summer / early fall treatment at end of August, core aeration with seed in Sept and late Fall treatment in late Nov.
The front yard is the only part I asked for treatment on as it's the part that is highly visible. It's an odd shape, but I'd estimate the square footage at 1100-12 sq ft.
I received a copy of the soil sample report in July, along with a letter stating recommended actions to take. I agreed to have phosphorus and potassium treatments which occurred later in the year for $45 each.
I saw positive signs a few weeks after the first treatment in July 2011, and the lawn has gradually improved in the months since then. As of this writing, it looks better than I thought was possible just 10 months ago.
In Feb 2012, I pre-paid ~$550 for one year of treatments which includes the scheduled treatments mentioned above that occurred in yr2011, plus early spring and late spring treatments. Pro Lawn Plus calls a day ahead before applications to let me know they will be coming. On days that I?ve been home, the technicians are always friendly and informative. And they have the coolest spreader machine! After each visit/treatment, an invoice is left in the front door of the house that includes details of what was performed that day, time of day it took place, and the name (and photo!) of the technician.
I don?t have a sprinkler system, and I think the only time I needed to water the lawn with the garden hose was after seeding.
They have a nice web site where I can review my history of treatments, costs and payments.

I have been using them for about 12 years. I can pre-pay for a slight discount. I can pay for them in the late winter and not have to worry about paying them again for a while. They are good they will answer questions and things.

I was getting estimates for an annual lawn treatment program, I had three companies respond to my request. My back yard is a mess due to recent work. Two of the companies gave expensive estimates for a fall seeding in the back yard. Mark from ProLawnPlus was the last to come for an estimate.Upon seeing my back yard he said he would not advise me to get a treatment plan until the yard soil was in better shape. He said that the soil is so bad that any seeding would simply fail in a short time. It was so refreshing to deal with a company that would rather lose a contract and be totally honest about the prospects. Even though they have done no work for me I would highly recommend them for anyone else. As soon as I take care of the soil you can bet that I will be calling Mark.

From the point of bringing LawnProPlus to do our treatments, our lawn went downhill. It appears that LawnProPlus uses a standard formulation and method for doing work. I doubt anyone ever looked at the lawn. They just appeared to come and dump chemicals on it and send us a bill. I finally had to put a stop to it when I noticed that 1. many patches of grass could be easily lifted up. The roots were gone. 2. The percentage of bare ground to grass was getting so extreme that soon the LawnProPlus guy would come and put chemicals on bare dirt. Again, this confirms to me that nobody looks at the condition of the lawn, they just perform the scheduled service without thought. I had no problem cancelling the service. But what really burned me and prompted me to write this review was that I got a letter from them telling me that they wanted my business back and would tailor a program to fix my lawn. No suggestion that it would be at their expense so I can only conclude that they found it just fine to ruin my lawn and then CHARGE me to fix it. That is of course if I would trust that they had the capability to fix it. My lawn is a muddy disaster with little grass left in many places and others spots where grass exists, it looks sick and weak. I believe that grubs ravaged my lawn and LawnProPlus was clueless to diagnose the problem. How can they when the guy who puts on the chemicals rides over your lawn at top speed and is done is a matter of a few minutes. Is he the turf specialist or just a guy hired to dump chemicals?

"A review of our records shows that this client was a customer beginning 3/18/11 after our Sales manager had been out personally to view his property and make recommendations. His 1st treatment was 3/25/11. As you may note, he was pleased with our services as shown in his comments on this forum dated 3/25/11, after he had received his first treatment. When the client did cancel in November of 2011, he stated it was because he was going to do the work himself. During the course of the 8 months that he was a customer we have no records indicating that there were any problems, complaints or concerns. Our technicians are trained and experienced professionals. The technician assigned to his property has been with the company for 15 years and is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. In order to address the client's comments on Angie’s List, a review of his property found with the control of the broadleaf weeds the shaded areas needed to be seeded now to improve turf density. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service. Should he wish to contact us, we would be happy to discuss his concerns."

Very good. The seeding especially was excellent - followed their advice to wait and seed in the fall instead of spring, and the lawn now looks great.
