Kris Konstruction Design & Build Group was wonderful. Kris came out and did a walk around inspection and took measurements of the square footage of the house and adjusted the cost to include additional projects that I wanted as well. The crew that completed the work did an amazing job and checked with me throughout the process to make sure everything was going well and the way I wanted. The only issue that I had was that I was not present when they originally started the job and did not know that they were arriving that day, which was very surprising when I came home that evening to see my house torn up. The job took three days and the crew cleaned up each before they left. I would definitely use them again for any upcoming projects.

1. Met with owner of the company at my home to discuss what work I wanted done. He listened carefully to what I wanted.
A 14X19 sunroom with a cathedral ceiling. This required doing extra work to make the exsisting roof and new roof come together properly. I got 3 estimates and the other two companies were not able to make the cathedral ceiling work and would only use a shed roof.
In addition I was having all windows replaced, siding replaced, 2 full bathrooms remodeled and a deck replaced.
2. Met with owner again at his showroom. We reviewed the estimate and he was able to show me a version of the sunroom I wanted. I was able to look at samples and example plans for the project.
3. Met with owner again to review contract and sign.
Demolition of old deck began right on time. Demolition crew were polite, professional and didn't mind us watching with fascination.
Framing crew began immediately.
Each day I was aprised of what was completed and what would be happening over the next several days by the Project Manager. This was done without exception and I knew exactly what to expect and when. He made sure I knew what to be prepared for at every step along the way. I felt very comfortable having the crew in my home.
As a late decision of mine, I decided to have the master bedroom windows changed which needed extensive work to complete as well as the removal and relaying of wood in my kitchen. This added a little time to the project, however the focus was on keeping the customer happy and it was no problem.
I am very satisfied with the workmanship, professionalism and cost of this project. I would use Kris Konstruction again in a heartbeat.

The crew arrived on time. I asked if there was anything I needed to assist with and was promptly told they had everything needed to start and finish the job. I had a few questions throughout the day that was promptly and courteously answered by the project leader. I was very concerned about any debrie being left on top of my new enclosure, but they assured me that they would be using the blower to blow off any debrie on top. Furthermore, as an added bonus, they even blew off the leaves on top of the enclosure as well.
Before I forget, at one point I could not remember something that Kris and I had discussed and actually phoned him while the job was going on and he refreshed my memory on what we had discussed in our initial meeting. Everything was left in a pristene manner. Well, that about sums it up, I was very pleased with the outcome and the professionalism shown from the administrative end to the actual labor side of this company. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to get their roof replaced.

We bought the Angie's List Big Deal bathroom renovation and have waited until the job was finished to write this review.
It took the Kris Konstruction team a while to get to us, as they apparently are kept very busy by Angie's list members and others. But we weren't in a big hurry and company representatives were professional and easy to work with all around. Chris Roe initially worked with us on a design, explained clearly to us what materials and fixtures we needed to supply and how much additional we would have to pay above the terms of the Big Deal, and answered our many questions. Ours was a relatively small bathroom job in an 85 year old house a long way from their Harford County base, but once the job started, Tony and his helper kept coming back until it was done to our satisfaction, although it was a long drive in heavy traffic every day.
As always happens in an old house, unanticipated challenges popped up along the way, and we screwed up a couple of times in what we bought - or didn't. However, Tony's problem-solving attitude was outstanding, and both his workmanship and his communication with us was excellent.. "We'll make it work" became an almost-daily mantra. They did an exceptional job cleaning up every day, and even got along great with the dogs. We are very happy with the result and would use Kris Konstruction again as well as highly recommend them to others.

I purchased a deal for roof replacement from Kris Konstruction. I knew my roof exceeded the size listed for the advertised price. I was very pleased with the estimate and the thorough manner in which the estimate was calculated. I signed a contract in July and the work was scheduled for the end of September. I chose this company based on their excellent reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The roof looks great and last week's significant rainfall was a good test!
Everyone in the company is very professional, courteous and they go beyond expectations to ensure the customer's satisfaction.
The day the roof was replaced I had some reservations because it was done so quickly. I left home at 7:20 a.m. and returned at 1:15 p.m expecting to see the job in progress. No one was there. I could see the sides of the roof were new but couldn't see the top. Everything had been cleaned up thoroughly. Then my son was insisting they hadn't taken the old shingles off. JoAnn & Kris were so patient with me - explained the process and even sent many pictures of the work in progress which showed they had definitely completed the project as contracted. They even dropped off a package of shingles when I asked for a few spares to keep on hand. Their responsiveness and attention is commendable and most appreciated.
Also, I had a problem finding someone to help me with a flooring problem and when Kris was unable to look at this job he gave me two contractors to call. One of them was able to do the job and I couldn't be more happy with the work done. I appreciated how he took the time to help me find someone.
Kudos to all at Kris Konstruction for a job well done and beyond expectations.

He was very thorough and explained what the inspection will include. After the inspection he explained in detail the work that would be done and upon completion showed the work and what he had replaced.

Kris of Kris Konstruction was very helpful and willing to discuss our questions and concerns prior to us purchasing the roofing Big Deal. Kris even made time to call us while he was out of state to ensure our questions were answered. Kris used satellite imagery software to determine size and slope of the roof for the initial estimate. He later met with us and climbed on the roof for a close up inspection. He provided roof samples for us to choose our color.
Our roof is a very steep, 3,000 sq. ft. hip roof (12:12) with a widow's walk and dormers. It took Kris's crew only two days to complete the job. They also installed a power ventilator attic fan on the rear side of the house. The crewmen were polite and took care to protect the house from any collateral damage and cleaned up all debris. The roof looks greats and the attic fan has made a tremendous difference in the temperature of our second floor.
Kris Konstruction is a full service construction company. I would recommend them for roofing and will consider them for other projects, as well.

Kris of Kris Konstruction extremely nice and knowledgeable over the phone. Perhaps he has a very large company and big overhead, but I was astonished by his "Big Deal" estimate especially as I had gotten three other estimates so as to compare. So I hardly see his quote as a "Big Deal" in any way. hope my next experience with Angie's List is better as this was my first. Thanks!

"Thanks for the review. I spoke with you prior to your Big Deal purchase and reviewed the entire scope of work as well as the pricing structure. You then said you would purchase the coupon and would also be getting other bids on the project. The next day we were notified of the coupon purchase and we contacted you immediately to thank you for your purchase and let you know we would order the satellite imagery to quote the roof. After giving you your initial estimate over the phone, you set up an appointment to meet at your home. Prior to that meeting you left a message at the office stating you were canceling the purchase, I was able to speak with you to find out why you canceled ? You stated you received many other estimates and my company was close in price to all but one. In fact you stated , if you did not get the lowest bid, you would not have canceled the purchase. I asked you if the Lowest Bid Contractor was an Angie's List Contractor and you said "No" none of the other bids were A/L Contractors. Then you proceeded to tell me the Lowest Bid Contractor was not even a" Roofing Contractor ",but was a "One Man Show" that specialized in kitchens. You told me when he sells a roof , he then goes out and finds "guys" to do the job. Our overhead has nothing to do with our pricing. With today's economic climate, our pricing is as tight as it has ever been. Everyone gets multiple bids, and we need to be competitive or we could not survive, That is why we have been in business for over 23 years and have maintained the great reputation that we have. Kris handled all aspects of this project efficiently and professionally, from initial inspection, meeting with insurance adjustor, providing quote, scheduling project and final execution. Property was cleaned up and left as if they had never been there. My required involvement was minimal.

An inspector came to our house to look at our roof. Our chimney was pulling away from the house so I needed to get an estimate to get that fixed. The inspector never went up near the chimney but instead said he would send someone else out to look at it. He never did. The inspector did go up on our roof and tell us we had hail damage. He said our insurance company would cover the replacement of the roof because it was from a storm. He also said he "knew" someone at our insurance company and they would arrange to have it done. The person who was supposed to come out to look at the chimney never showed up from this company. I found another company who came out and fixed the chimney and did a great job. The man from the company that actually did the work said he was really impressed at the shape of our roof. I asked if he saw any hail damage and he said no.
After reading the response I'd like to add the following: I called you for a specific task, to seal up the area between my roof and chimney. I can't hire a company when they don't quote me on the project.

"Wow !! Ironically when we receive poor reviews, it is always from folks we NEVER performed work for. I checked into your allegations with our Hail Damage Inspector that inspected your roof. As with every inspection we do, we take pictures if there is Hail Damage. He showed you the close up photos of the Hail Damage. I personally spoke with your husband about filing a claim with your insurance company and he told me he was NOT going to pursue the claim and did not need our service. Keep in mind, Kris Konstruction has thousands of APPROVED Hail Damage Claims and meets directly with the Insurance Adjuster to review the damage. Therefore, if you did not have damage, we could not have showed you a picture and we definitely would not have told you to put in a claim because there would be no damage to show the Adjuster. Although I do not understand your review or rating, I wish you the best of luck ! Don was great. Spent 45 minutes inspecting 22-yr-old roof. Removed debris building up between the townhouses, which previously caused some water damage during a storm. Told me my roof was fine for its age. Would recommend again.

All the workmanship was very well done with the exception of the baseboard, which was originally wooden. They replaced it with plastic, a small part of which has since come unglued. The quality of the toilet that came as part of the "big deal" was questionable, as it came with a drip leak. We eventually bought one of better quality; Kris Konstruction installed it and reimbursed us for the original cost, no questions asked. Customer service, especially from the office, was excellent.

Well they seem to be a very reputable company, but I never got the chance to have them preform any work on my bathroom. They stated that my job was too small for them. So I was denied service for what I needed. So if a person is in need of a job that's a full remodel then they may be the company for you, but if you have small projects they may not be able to help you.

They came to give a roof replacement estimate. We had damage from last years hail storm.
Many other neighbors got their roof replaced for free due to insurance. Our claim was denied. Most others were approved.
They didn't force us to do the work if the insurance denied it.

We would like to rescind our last review of Kris Konstruction. The negatively oriented review was generated as a result of miscommunication. One letter in our email address was incorrect, which was not enough for emails to bounce back to Kris Konstruction but did result in our not receiving any of them. After resending all documents with the corrected email address, we see that our questions and problems were quickly and efficiently addressed.
Our contact person, Chris, arrived on time to give us an estimate for remodeling our bathroom. He was pleasant, professional, and helped us define the scope of the work to be done. We received the estimate in a couple of days. After returning the signed contract and deposit, Chris responded shortly, thanking us for our business and asking us to review the selected plumbing fixtures and tile so that they could be ordered. Having done that, we are now waiting final costs of materials, and, of course, a projected start date.
We are very happy to be moving forward again and look forward to the successful completion of the project.

We purchased a home that just had its roof shingles replaced about a year ago. Since we moved in, we noticed water damage coming from the area of the skylight. This stained the ceiling and the top part of the wall.
We had a construction company come check it out at the went on the roof twice but couldn't figure it out. That's when my wife decided to look at the receipts for the roof and found that it was Kris Konstruction that did the work. Although the leak is a poor indication that they messed up a little during the roof install, they were very responsive and professional to correct it.
My wife spoke to Todd who sent out a crew led by Thomas. Thomas went on the roof, took a picture of the seal that was cracked and re-caulked the entire perimeter of the glass. They came, took care of the issue, and were very respectful and professional the entire time.
I will probably check them again when I need to contracting work done at the house.

They elected NOT to replace the original skylight. Kris came over late in the evening, why? because my schedule was hectic. Kris made it a point to work around my schedule. I wanted a patio, but had no idea of what kind, size, or shape. There lied the problem, because Kris had to guide me and my husband through the process.. He did so with grace and making several trips. He brought over brochures which were overwhelming, because I didn't know exactly what I wanted and there was the issue of my husband being colored blind. Even with these handicaps Kris ensured us not to worry and he would draw out plans of what he felt would flow with our current layout. He also told us not to worry about choosing the color. He said Mike, the person responsible for the stamp is very good and will guide us.
So we did exactly what Kris suggested. We left it to Kris and Mike, and we have a gorgeous patio!
I will definitely use Kris Kronstruction again.

It went well. I love the look of the bathroom and it functions well.
My bathroom was well over the $5,999 deal price and subject to additional fees because:
- It was over the 40 sq ft covered by the deal and it had plaster walls which required additional labor -- these fees are listed in the Big Deal Fine Print
- I had some plumbing work done; floor tile set on the diagonal which required extra cuts; a light fixture moved and a second one installed; door knobs and closet door knobs installed; went well over the $200 allowance for a vanity; purchased glass tub doors (not covered by the materials allowance)
I was aware of these fees because we remodeled a downstairs bathroom earlier in the year via a previous Big Deal coupon. I also knew that I was going over the materials allowance in some areas but I was OK with that. But I feel I should say that you should be aware of these additional charges if you have an older home with plaster walls and/or a bathroom larger than 40 sq ft. This, plus buying a few items over the materials allowance, will start to add up. If your home is newer and your bathroom 40 sq ft or less, you can probably stick closer to the $5,999 deal price.
The week the project was wrapping up, the lead contractor, Tony, didn't see the note I left about the running toilet/low water level and then was on vacation, and then it was several more days before it was resolved. And I was disappointed that I didn't learn until it was pretty much too late to find a backup that he didn't recommend the wall mount shower caddy that I bought. It seems like a minor point, but after having all that work done, I didn't want the ubiquitous caddy that loops over the showerhead which is what I'll have to get. But, Tony was easy to work with overall. Everything looks great. I appreciated that I could go off to work and trust the crew to let themselves in and get the work done. The project took approximately 3 weeks, plus the time gap to resolve the toilet.
Misc. observations/notes:
- The Big Deal doesn't include design services
- I guess the current trend is to not run tile the whole height of the shower wall. Hopefully, tile is high enough that walls won't get water damage. So far so good...
