Kmk Roofing

We had heavy rains and water began to drip from my bathroom ceiling vent. I called a roofer who had done some prior work on my house, but didn't hear back. I found KMK Roofing on Angie's List and gave them a call. Kevin answered immediately and I described the problem. He came out THE NEXT DAY to inspect the roof. He diagnosed the problem and promised to come back two days later to do the work. Kevin and his team arrived two days later as promised and replaced the exterior vent (plus the vent hose), the flange around a stink pipe, and several shingles. They were done in no time and left no trace of their presence, other than the replacement parts. It has rained heavily since and the area of the original leak is bone dry. Kevin followed up with me several days later to see if the repair was effective. I will definitely hire KMK Roofing in the future.

We had a leak with no obvious reason why. Kevin came over and looked up in the roof. He showed me a few problem areas that could be causing the leak. He did some fixes. When it rained again some water (not as much) came in so Kevin promptly returned and did more work. This fixed the problem.

Kevin was professional, honest and helpful. I have an old house with no way to add soffit vents, so I got a lot of quotes. Most said "the more ventilation the better" --not true. Kevin was one of two people who addressed my problem correctly. He went above and beyond what normal roofer would do as things came up during the job. He was onsite during the re-roofing, or getting water for his crew or getting supplies. Kept me informed the whole way. I highly recommend. His price was in the middle of the range, but included gutter guards, which other roofers didn't want to do or charged a high price. His crew was great.

They were very knowledgeable, and cleaned up. They honored their price and did exactly what they said. It was all written down and and honored all of what we planned. We also have a 5 year leak proof warranty. They had all the permits. Very thorough from the start.

KmK wasn't even in my original search for roofers here on Angieslist and I actually found them working on a neighbors house around the corner from me. Kevin, answered my call (after I got his card from his son who was on-site and Kevin was meeting with the owner of the house) and he came by the next day. I feel like he gave me an honest evaluation from what we could see from the ground floor and agreed to have him come by the next day to do the work. Kevin showed up promptly and did the work himself quickly and even took pictures to show me the work he performed. I was impressed by his honesty and integrity, especially when it came to assessing the current condition of my roof. Another impressive thing is that when I called Kevin the day before, he was out doing a coffee and water pickup for his crew since I don't know a lot of folks who own their own company that would take the time to do this themselves. Overall, KmK did a great job and I recommend them to anyone reading this. I will also call them first if I need or if anyone I know needs work done on their roof.

First I would like to say that I did not call Kevin at KMK Roofing first (I should've).  I called roofing repair companies that I found on Angie's List in Billerica first.  After calling 9 of them and being told my job was too small because all they were doing was "new roofs" I called KMK in Woburn.  Kevin was very nice on the phone and I explained to him what I needed done.  He came out that week and he inspected the roof.  I knew one of the plumbing vent pipes was cracked in the front of the house because I could see it.  When he inspected my roof he told me the one on the back was also cracked and would need to be replaced.  He took pictures of it so I could see the crack.  He was very responsive, quick, and did a great job.  I would highly recommend him.  He did what he said he would do, he followed up, and his price was very reasonable.  The roof he repaired on the garage looks fantastic.  He also told me that my roof should last at least another 10 - 15 years.  THANKS!!

It went excellent, there was constant communication from the beginning of the process until the job was finished. Kevin was great to work with and would highly recommend them!

By the time I contacted Kevin I had had a significant leak around my chimney for about a year and a half.  During that time I had hired a chimney company to fix the problem, but they only made it worse and then I met with over 9 roofing and masonry contractors, some highly recommended on Angie's List, some recommended by friends.  Every contractor had a different diagnosis of the problem, a different solution and a different price.  All agreed that I needed to replace the old flashing, ranging in price from $1200-$4200.  One contractor said I also need a $5000 chase cover for the chimney.  One said I needed a $800 chimney cap.  Another contractor said I needed to re-pitch part of the roof for a total cost of $8,500.  And most outrageously, one
roofing contractor called in two masons who both confirmed that I also needed  to have the entire chimney rebuilt because the builder had used inferior bricks and the leak was caused  not only by a problem with the flashing but because the bricks were becoming saturated.   He offered to fix this problem for $14,000!!!!!!
Then I met Kevin.  It was winter, I had ice damns.  The first thing I must say about Kevin is that he is the most responsive and
communicative contractor that I have ever worked with!  He usually called or texted back within 15 minutes.   If he was delayed, he always texted, even if he was late only by 30 minutes.  So after he took care of my ice damns I decided to get his opinion on my leak once spring arrived. 
I texted him on a Sunday Morning, he was at my house two hours latter!  He inspected the flashing, took photos, and told me he had the materials on the truck and could fix the problem now, for??..$200.   We had to wait for a big rain storm  to see if Kevin?s repair worked and it turned out that he needed to come back to make some new repairs on another part of the chimney flashing,  for an additional $150.  Kevin?s strategy was to try to fix the problem for the lowest possible cost and only if that didn?t work would he then move on to consider redoing all the flashing and replacing shingles, etc?..
I am writing this review a month after he completed the work and since then we have had several episodes of torrential rains. I am happy to report that not one single drop of water penetrated Kevin?s work.  
Kevin is smart, honest, fair, communicative, and reliable.  I consider myself very lucky to have found him and will definitely use him for any future roofing work.

I developed a pretty bad leak in my roof where water would drip at a good rate into my house when it rained. I was referred to Kevin at Kmk Roofing - the best referral I ever had! Kevin came out to look at the problem the same day, explained the problem in detail, and told me he would be out to fix it in a couple of days. We were expecting some heavy rains the following day and Kevin knew it, but he didn't have the right color shingles available, plus he was in the middle of another job. 10 minutes after he left my house, he called me back and told me he had the same color shingles at the work site he was at then and would take one of his workers back and fix my roof that day. He returned a short time later and he and his worker were done with the job in no time. Needless to say, no more water dripping through the ceiling. I couldn't have been happier and more impressed with Kevin and his company, Kmk Roofing. I would highly recommend him for any roofing job!

It went great.  Kevin was very helpful and prompt.  At the end of the job, he told me to wait for a few more soaking rains to make sure that the holes were plugged.  I am happy to report that the problem has been solved.  He also gave me a year-long warranty.  Kevin was friendly and professional, and is very knowledgable about his work.  He gave me excellent advice about future issues I should look out for with my roof.  I plan to hire him again, and am very comfortable doing so.

Kevin was very prompt with a call and provided a quote and upon acceptance he provided a hard start date and made every effort to get the work completed as we entered the winter months. He and his staff were hard working on time and cleaned up daily I would definitely use him again.

I hired KMK to replace my roof based on the great Angie’s List ratings.  Their work is top-quality.  Kevin, the boss, has been
in the business for over 30 years.  He is very honest and hardworking.  He spotted several problems in the work done by the previous roofers whom the house’s previous owner had hired.  He also spotted a couple of issues with the roof caused by the original home builder.  He took care of all these problems, and there was no cost over the original estimate except a bit for the
base cost of the materials (plywood that had to be replaced). Kevin could be a “professor of roofology.”  And the 4 young men who worked with him were very nice. I recommend KMK without any reservations.

It was a spot job. He replaced the rusting nails. My roof did not leak through the spring or fall. The roof did leak a little bit while it snowed, but it was unrelated to him. I was very satisfied with his service. I liked that he does not send somebody else and does the work on his own. He came and described the job very thoroughly. He has been in the business for a long time and he is a local guy. He is willing to do repairs which a lot of companies do not take. He even guarantees his work for two years. I recommend him highly.

He was honest about what needed to be done. I had another contractor make it sound like there was a really huge problem and my roof was bad; he made it sound like once he started removing shingles, he was going to find this really huge problems. KMK just told me that the area where the vent was wasn't done properly. I paid KMK about $350, when someone else wanted to charge me about $600, when I paid $250 to install the fan.

Kevin is a great guy. He is very invested in doing a superb job. He clearly wants to do the best work he can.
