Deveau Painting

Joe painted our neighbor's house and did an excellent job. Our neighbor was so happy with the work he did and the price that I asked him to come take a look at our front porch and steps and give me a price quote. I've had other painters tell me it was too small of a job, which I do understand, but Joe was happy to do it. The steps hadn't been painted since before we bought the house 4 years ago, and after all of those winters, they had been worn down almost to bare wood. The floor of the porch was in somewhat better shape, but was peeling in places. I also asked him to freshen up the white side railings inside the porch. He told me he'd do it for $450 which I considered to be a very fair price. He told me of course that the day he could do it would depend on the weather, as there was rain in the forecast, but that I should pick up a gallon of whatever color paint I wanted for the treads and floorboards, and to please get a high quality paint, and that he'd supply the white paint for the railings and step risers. He said he'd call a day or 2 before he expected to arrive, which he did. He spent the first morning carefully scraping and sanding, and applying the first coat of paint, and told me he'd be back the next morning to apply the second coat, which he did. I was very pleased with his professionalism and the quality of his work. I'll definitely be calling Joe again the next time we need painting done.
