Poorly.
Description of Work: This company knocked on my door because they were "in the area" performing work, and asked if I wanted to receive an estimate for window replacement. I made an appointment for the estimator to return to my house the same day to provide an estimate. Even though I told the person who came to my door that I had an appointment later that day, he promised that the estimator would come at 3:30 p.m., and called the office to confirm this time. I then received a call saying that the estimator was running behind schedule, and that he would show up at 4:00 or 4:30. Finally, at 4:30, I received a call saying that the estimator couldn't come at all. This was an entire afternoon wasted for me as I sat around waiting for the estimator. They came to my door to solicit my interest -- it's not like I sought them out. I would have expected them to have the decency to show up at the promised time.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
We apologize for the inconvenience and regret being unable to provide the estimate as requested. We'd like an opportunity to explain why we were unable to make it out at the scheduled time so you don't walk away thinking that we take this lightly or are ignoring your experience. Our company policy is to call each customer and re-confirm the appointment prior to each estimate - we do this as a courtesy to our customers, as we understand how quickly schedules can change and we try to accommodate for that. In this case, we attempted to contact you a few times prior to your scheduled appointment at 3, but were unsuccessful. When we were eventually able to touch base, we rescheduled the appointment for the 4:00 - 4:30 window to allow enough time for our remodeling consultant to make it out to your home. Unfortunately, after rescheduling your appointment, we realized that we were overbooked and understaffed for your area at the scheduled time. That mistake is entirely our responsibility and we clearly failed you in regards to delivering the level of customer service that we pride ourselves on and promise. For that, we sincerely apologize. There are no excuses, we simply should have handled the circumstances better. I'd love the chance to speak to you personally and hopefully make up for the poor first impression with a fantastic follow-up experience, as we never want a homeowner to walk away feeling as you do about Power. If you'd like, please feel free to reach out to me at your leisure using the information below. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x2260

Description of Work: On two seperate occasions, a man would show up at my home, in the evening, as I am trying to cook dinner, or spend time with my family, and want to talk to me, saying they are doing work "down the street" and wanted to talk to us about having work done. First of all, dinner time is the worst time for someone to come unexpectedly. Second, if I needed something done around the house, I will seek out someone to do so. Why would I take the word of someone walking around, saying they work down the street. This is a terrible way to market your company.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
In our 22 years of business and over 125,000 installations, we have found that most homeowners delay getting work done to their home far beyond the threshold of needing the products and services. Everyday, we speak with hundreds of homeowners and one commonality we see consistently are families not being aware of how badly their home actually needs improvements done. By speaking with homeowners in neighborhoods of projects we’re currently installing, we’re able to raise awareness of the issues in-home to the forefront and, ultimately, save homeowners considerable amounts of money by getting the project installed correctly by certified professionals when it’s needed and before it’s too late. If you'd like to discuss further, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x2260

Description of Work: This was the classic Hard Sale with bait and switch. Sales rep came out and spent over 3 hours at my home, with the majority of that being unrelated small talk while he tried to establish rapport and build my trust. They give you one absurdly high price and tell you it's good for 3 months, then give a second slightly less absurd price and tell you it's only good if you sign the contract now. They wanted $10,000 to side the front of my 2200sqft home (and 1/4 of the front is actually brick). Like a fool I agreed to the job for the "right now" price of $8800 and was told they I would have the opportunity to cancel up until the time the sales manager came out to do a final visit for confirmation of color, style, and any extras in regards to window treatments and vent covers. We were also told we could change our mind on color and style up until that next visit since no materials would be ordered until after the visit. FLAT OUT LIE. After coming to my senses, I called to cancel, citing what the sales rep (Patrick Hermann) told me. Before I was allowed to cancel, another rep had to come to my home. By this time i knew they could not be trusted and recorded the ensuing visit/conversation. I was told by this next rep that Patrick lied and (coincidently) was no longer with the company. I was also told that all materials were already ordered SPECIFICALLY for my project and that I would incur a fee, I believe it was approx 18-20%. I find it unrealistic to think that they place custom orders for materials that can not be used on other projects, especially when they "ordered" a standard color and style. | |I will say that the fee was waived after nearly 45 min of back and forth with the second rep. Never again will I entertain any lengthy sales pitch for work to be done on my home. That in and of itself is a red flag.

Description of Work: Refused to give me a quote without my wife, even though I assured them that I and I alone would make the decision. When they finally did give me a quote they gave me all kinda of reasons why the price was so high but none of them convinced me since I have done roofs myself and have many friends who do roofs.

Description of Work: Some guys were in the neighborhood cold calling. They asked me if I wanted a quote. I do need to have some roof work done, so I agreed to schedule a time for them to give me an estimate. As I was giving them my information, they requested that both my wife and I be present for the estimate. I explained to them that we are very busy, and that I would like to meet with them, instead of both of us. I further explained that we both work have a 1 year old at home. They refused to give me an estimate unless both of us were present. I found this very odd, so I declined.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
We do require homeowners be present during the estimate process. We insist on this for a few reasons. First and foremost, we take the education of our customers seriously - at Power, we only do things "the right way" - which means our product quality and installation processes are second to none. When making a decision about the renovation of your home, it's important to us (and important to our customers) to understand how we are different from other contractors and specifically what we do to separate ourselves from the competition. Secondly, remodeling your home is an intimate experience - you're trusting a company to come into your home and treat it with the same level of respect that you do. This is another reason why we prefer both homeowners be present - so all parties involved can understand each step of our process and know what to expect throughout the entire project while also being fully aware of the professional standards we hold ourselves to. Having been in business for over 20 years and having served over 80,000 customers, we've found that this formula leads to a satisfying remodeling experience, where expectations are set, met and in most cases, exceeded. If you'd like to talk more about your experience, please feel free to contact me directly. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x 2260
