Charlie (owner) called us within an hour of seeking recommendations for a/c repair. Our second floor central a/c suddenly stopped working with the heat of summer. He actually talked us through a few things to try to see if the problem could be solved without a service call. When it could not he was at our house the next morning, he found the source of the problem, travelled a distance to two places to get all the parts, fixed the motor, replaced wiring and switches that could also cause short term issues, and explained everything including tips for better understanding and caring for the system. He got us up and running again in less than 24 hours! I fully believe any other place would have had us waiting at least another week for the parts needed to do the repair to ship-Charlie instead drove to Palmer at no charge to us to get the job done today. Can’t speak highly enough about this company and Charlie. Highly recommend them!

After seeing the great reviews on Home Advisor I called Monroe Comfort Air for a quote to replace my two furnaces and A/C units, one in the basement and the other in the attic. Charly  was available the same day (a Sunday) and came right over.  As I showed him each system, he clearly explained what he would do. His quote included installation of two high efficiency (96%) furnaces unlike a prior quote I had gotten that said high efficiency furnaces couldn't  be used in the attic. During our walk around Charlie clearly explained how this would be accomplished. The following day (Monday) he sent me the quote which I immediately accepted. He came right over and I wrote him a check for the 50% down payment and he ordered the needed parts which were delivered to my home on Wednesday. Charlie did an outstanding job with the installation. He kept me informed of his progress. His expertise showed in his work. When he finished each unit, he did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend Monroe Comfort for furnace and A/C installation and service.

Charlie responded quickly to my request for a quote to replace my furnace and AC equipment . His pricing was competitive with others but I chose him because he seemed very customer oriented. Once I decided to hire him he came to my house and ordered all the equipment. It was delivered the next day and he personally started the work that afternoon. He was done in 2.5 days. He squeezed me in since I had an attic and basement installation and no working AC and it was going to be 90 degrees the following week. I called Charlie last year when I one of my Lennox furnaces failed. Even though he was not able to service it he was very polite and referred me a different place. Canà ¢à  à  t say enough about Charlie Atchue from Monroe. He replaced a 40+ ur old boiler and tank with a new high efficiency Combi wall unit. The quality of work was outstanding at a reasonable price. I had a very challenging set up in my basement which made Charlieà ¢à  à  s task that much more challenging. He took the time to plan his approach and communicated what he was going to do and why he was taking that approach. The plan also included maximizing enough space in order for me to utilize for extra storage. In other words, he planned the installation as if it he was replacing a system in his own home. Had my best interest in mind. Through the entire process, he was very punctual, provided quick feedback, and consistently communicated with me. In the end, the quality of the work was phenomenal. Everything was placed and balanced perfectly. He added finishing touches that not many people would think of doing. He really takes pride in his work. And in the end, u would never know he was there (aside from the new system installed) because he thoroughly cleaned up everything. I highly recommend Monroe.

Charlie is AMAZING! We replaced our HVAC system and added central air. He is a true professional. You can see that he takes pride in his work. He provided us with an over the top detailed explanation of everything from start to finish and he did all the work. No surprises, super clean, and tidy. Charlie installed a new furnace and A/C unit in our house as the old ones needed replacement. He was great to work with, he clearly takes pride in his work. His price was competitive, he hit his schedule and his work is neat. He even threw in a free programmable thermostat. Charlie responded to our request for a quote to replace our 27 year old boiler very quickly and came to our home the next day to discuss our options. The entire engagement with Monroe has been a 5-star process. One tremendous advantage that Monroe has is that Charlie designs the solution, quotes the job, and conducts/oversees the installation. We have lived in our home 25 years before making the decision for central air conditioning. Charlie spent extra time with us to create a design that would work in our home layout. The work began and completed exactly on schedule. The work was well coordinated with the electrician and the town building inspector. Cleanup was immaculate and all waste material carefully removed. Charlie also made return trips to verify proper and optimal operation.

The entire experience, from first contact with Angie's List to project completion was nothing but an extraordinarily 5 star experience. Charlie responded to my posting immediately, within a couple of minutes in fact, scheduled to meet me at my home that day, had recommendations and a quote in my hands by the end of the day, was at my home the next business day and replaced my entire HVAC expertly, and beyond the scope of the work agreed to. He was helpful in identifying the Mass Save loan and rebate opportunities, even came to my office to endorse the loan proceeds check within an hour or less of my reaching out to him. i had dealt with a larger company in the past, and was not satisfied with the product and service provided by that company, and am now even more certain that finding the small business owner, who does the work him/herself, and to timely completion is the way to go. Kudos to Monroe Comfort Air and Charlie Atchue personally.

It has been a week now since Charlie replaced our AC. There have been no problems since the new units were installed. Charlie was great to work with. It was a tough job on the hottest day of the year, but he got the project done on time and at the agreed-upon price. It is always a pleasure to recommend a local family business, particularly when they are as good as this one is. I am happy to recommend both Charlie and his company.

Our 20-year old oil furnace broke down in the middle of winter right before Christmas. We had no heat in the house. We called Charlie and he was able to start the work for us the next day. He installed the gas furnace (converted from oil furnace) and also installed the central air (our central air also broke down after 20 years). By day 3, everything is done and we have heat in the house. Charlie is very good at what he does. His work is impeccable and complete. He makes sure every detail is taken care of. We would highly recommend Charlie for furnace and central air installation.
