About us
Bob Bedford founded Bedford Builders in 2003, after earning a degree in building construction and cabinet making from New England Institute of Technology and working with some of the greatest contractors and trades people in the region. While primarily focused on renovating one and two-family dwellings, Bob is experienced with historic renovation, commercial fit-outs and custom fabrication. Clients are continually impressed with his detailed and accurate written estimates, high levels of communication throughout the process, and building trade knowledge, as well as his personal involvement on every job. In 2014, the company changed its name to Bedford Builders Remodeling, LLC. Bob has trained with the RI State Building Code Commissioner and has passed the required testing and granted the certification to become a building inspector on 1 & 2 Family Dwellings as well as the State Building Code (Commercial). He takes seriously the responsibility to comply with current building codes and standards, no matter what the project. Quality work, professionalism and an eye for detail remain the hallmarks of every Bedford Builders Remodeling job. Acting as general contractor for each project, the Bedford Builders Remodeling team manages the entire project from start to finish, including architect interaction, estimating, coordinating skilled specialty subcontractors, arranging for permits and inspections, scheduling, and on-site supervision to ensure the work is being done properly and to your satisfaction. Our clients can rest assured knowing that thorough background checks and drug screens are performed on all our employees. Bob was amazing to work with. He communicated every day and discussed options along the way. He and his crew did a fabulous job with the quartz countertop, porcelain radiant heated floor and porcelain double shower. They did wonderful carpentry work and designed a closet for an easy/dryer unit. They were punctual, courteous and neat. Bedford Builders assisted me with a replacement of a large picture window in my living room. The window was improperly sized by the window company which led it to crack and cold temperatures. The replacement window was then improperly sized and cut on multiple occasions by the window company. Bob was very patient and skilled in dealing with the window company and making work what we had available until the right size window was delivered. Simply put... I would have not been able to accomplish this by myself. He was not satisfied until the window was correctly sized and correctly installed. His professionalism and thoroughness are qualities that aren't always found today as jobs are rushed and finished subpar. If you are in need of a contractor for any type of remodeling you absolutely will be well taken care of and satisfied with the quality of work you are provided.

Bob and his team were great from the beginning of the process until the end. Bob directed me to his partners, who helped me pick appliances, cabinets, counters etc., so everything was delivered when Bob and his team were ready for us. Once they started we were their top priority. Things went smoothly and the kitchen looks fantastic.

I can’t thank Bob enough for the work he did with his assistant Rui. When the door couldn’t be repaired- Bob returned the next morning with a replacement and they installed it- and returned after lunch to replace the kick plate below. Great guy! Great work!!!

Bedford Builders was amazing from the start until the finish of our bathroom remodeling project. Bob guided us through picking out all the products and fixtures, connecting us to experts with quality products. He walked us through the entire process. Bob and Caleb were professional, always timely and respectful, and were attentive to each and every detail They cleaned the site each and every night and always checked in to answer our questions and keep us up to date about the next day’s plan. Kitchen remodel. I’ve been happy with the results of each of the projects Bedford Builders have done, but the kitchen remodel was the most significant of them. Bob Bedford is a professional carpenter with roughly 30 years of experience. He is a licensed contractor and inspector in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Bob tracks all of the tasks in the project: each line of action in the project requires plans, permits, skills, tools, materials, and arrangements. He works with very skilled subcontractors and suppliers of appliances and materials. Bob has built mutual trust with these partners and it shows. Parts and appliances arrived on time. Subcontractors found the site ready for them to do their work and move on. Negotiating and confirming every element in advance, Bob kept the project moving ahead despite the pandemic related supply chain problems and high demand for the services of the people involved. Every project on an our 1920 house includes some hidden conditions. Bob has seen most of these and was careful to warn us that there would likely be surprises. There were. He worked with us to decide how best to proceed in each situation, and resolved all the issues that arose. Attention to detail: Bob and his crew paid attention to details in trim, paint, tile, counters, cabinets and appliances. We ended up with the kitchen we had envisioned. Bob’s contracts are clear and help to set expectations from the outset. Bob and his crew don’t hang about. They started work at 7:00 most mornings and left at 5:00. They worked steadily and quickly all day. They were courteous and considerate, even as they made a lot of noise. Bob kept us informed at every stage, and every day. He kept his attention on the project until it was done to our satisfaction, and that of the city’s inspectors.

We had quite a challenging job for Bob and his team with our house being very old. From the get-go, Bob was extremely thorough with communicating the job at hand, respectful of our home and understanding of the fact that we has two young kids to consider with a remodel. He made necessary precautions so that dust from the kitchen remodel didn’t spread through the rest of the house. Bob and his team were dependable, trustworthy and never made us feel in the dark about what was happening at each stage of the project. They were also very respectful of COVID guidelines. If you have the budget to hire Bob, I would do so in a heartbeat.

As soon as Bob came to my home to give me an estimate on my basement bathroom remodel, I knew I wanted to hire him. He, and his crew, are so polite and professional! It was the first time I had any remodeling done, so I needed some direction. Bob listened to what I envisioned for my bathroom, and then helped me choose materials (shower, sink, faucets, paint, flooring and ceiling tiles) that were high quality without being overly expensive. He kept me appraised of the progress daily, and never assumed to make adjustments, that would be better, without discussing them with me first. And all the work was done within the estimated timeframe safely and professionally - from set up to clean up. I am so happy with my bathroom and will be hiring Bob for any other projects I need done! I would recommend Bedford Builders to anyone - especially anyone who is tackling a first time remodel - Bob puts you at ease, takes so much pride in his work, and won’t stop until he makes sure you are 100% happy with the job he’s done!

We hired Bedford Builders Remodeling to install our master bath, and we ended up with a work of art! We worked with a designer to create a sophisticated concept for our bathroom, but Bedford Builders Remodeling was easily able to pull off the complex installation. At every point, they exhibited the highest level of craftsmanship--I thought that such high quality work had died out in the 1920s. Even more, they showed up on time every single day, worked hard throughout, and made sure we were happy with everything that was installed. They are a top quality company!

Bob and his team completed a large repair on our home that took close to 4 weeks. We had extensive water damage and essentially had to replace an entire, 2-story wall, including installation of 8 windows and a patio door. When you have a crew inside your home, 5 days a week, 8+ hours a day for close to a month, you kind of get to know their ways and habits and everything about this company is top notch. Bob was in constant communication with me from beginning to end, and he and his 2 employees were super respectful of my home, especially during these uncertain COVID times. For example, when entering "community" areas of my home in order to use the restroom, masks were worn 100% of the time. They cleaned their work area each and every day before they left. Bob texted me each night to let me know the start time for the next morning, and the work itself was exceptional. He and his crew came back an extra day, on HIS dime, to make sure everything was picture perfect, down to paint touch-ups and electric curtains being hung. Bottom line: If you're looking for a construction company that shows up on time, pays close attention to detail, and doesn't leave you hanging, you've found your guy.

The remodel went pretty smoothly in spite of many unforeseen circumstances that were not projected in the original estimate. Bob is extremely meticulous and is very professional. His work is excellent. He will not disappoint. Be aware, as in any remodel of an older home, costs can escalate once walls and ceilings get opened up.

Bob the owner & Caleb worked on the project at my home. Bob give me updates while my two storm doors where on order.
