Upon entering the store, we were promptly greeted by a salesman, Krunal. After we explained our needs--bedding for upcoming houseguests--he gave us several options, and began to quote prices. After giving us a fair price quote, we decided on a daybed with a trundle roll-a-way. Once our decision was made, Krunal began to fill out the paperwork. As he filled out the necessary forms, we were told that he "had to call his regional director for a price okay!" While the call seemed a bit silly, since he had already quoted us a price, we waited while he made several phone calls trying to get an okay on the quoted price. After about 15 minutes of awkward silence, Krunal finally got the approval necessary to complete the transaction. After the initial paperwork was completed, we began to discuss delivery and set-up times. Since I am a teacher and my husband is a physician, our scedules are very tight to say the least. After explaining our situation to the salesman, Krunal, he allowed me to choose a time that was UNBOOKED: Wednesday morning between 10a.m. and 2p.m.. Additionally, I was assured that, since I was the first to sign up for the time slot, mine would be the first delivery. With Krunal's assurances, we paid the $90 delivery charge and left the store happy with our purchase. Flash forward to Wednesday. At 11;36 a.m. I received a call explaining that my delivery would be late by "an hour or so!" Further, I was informed that there are no delivery time guarantees, and there is NO REFUND FOR DELIVERY CHARGES. Upset--and probably noticeably so--I asked the nature of the delay. The operator stated that the drivers had run into a bit of a jam at a previous job. So much for being the first on the list! Sensing my disappointment, the operator asked what I wanted her to do. I told her that I had to be at work by 3 o'clock to teach an evening class, and I also told her of the assurances that I had been given by the salesman, Krunal. She told me that there was nothing that she could do, and if I had further complaints, I could call the store and talk to Krunal personally. After I hung up the phone, I decided to call the store in Saugus to see if there was anything that they could do. After trying to call the store for two hours and fifteen minutes--always getting a busy signal--I gave up (they were probably trying to get a price approval). Fortunately (unfortunately) the delivery company later called to tell me that they would be even later. The second operator, however, told me that the delay stemmed from a late start--contradicting the first operator's claim! Moreover, the second operator assured me that he would refund the delivery fees! What was so hard about that!? Realizing that I was in a pickle, I called work and made an arrangement for a TA to cover my class. So, I get a refund of the delivery fee, but I miss a day of work! Oh well, Sleepy's got a sale!
Description of Work: Purchased a daybed, trundle bed, and two twin matresses on Sunday April 5, 2009. Additionally, we paid $90 to have the product delivered the following Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (a four hour window!).
