Cooling Unlimited was extremely helpful from the moment I called regarding problems with my boiler. I was able to schedule a technician to come in at noon the very next day (they offered to send someone that evening with full disclosure that it would be at overtime cost, but the next morning was fine with me.) Just after I called, they called back to let me know that there had been a cancellation in the schedule and offered to come even earlier in the day, which was even better for me since I had to take the morning off from work to deal with the repair. The next day, about 40 minutes into the one-hour window they quoted, Leo arrived. He examined my boiler and replaced the thermal couple that was no good. He went out to the truck to prepare the paperwork, but when he came back I reported the baseboards were still cold. He then spent at least another half an hour extracting air from the pipes (service on the boiler was LONG overdue - totally my fault). Even though he must have been here over an hour, he only charged me one hour of labor, which I thought was very decent. When he was done and as the heat started to come up, he took the time to explain what he had done and to give me pointers on how often I should have my boiler serviced moving forward. He also took the time to explain that the water temperature on my boiler had been set too low, how and to what temperature he had adjusted it to, and how I could adjust it myself in the future. We discussed how the rise in set temperature may raise my gas bill but - because of all the air that had been blocking up my pipes - the price may very well be balanced out because the system would now be working at optimal operation. Leo clearly was someone who took pride in his work (and I think was a bit dismayed that I had not taken care of my boiler properly before this). I will absolutely call Cooling Unlimited to come and repair and/or maintain my boiler or water heater in the future. They responded quickly and efficiently, and I am now toasty warm in my apartment.

My home was originally heated with oil, utilizing steam radiators spread across all rooms in the house. My house was cooled with window AC units. We decided to replace the entire heating and cooling system for the following reasons: (1) Less noisy: window AC units are loud and steam radiators clank and hiss loudly. (2) Comfort: with central AC, all rooms would be cooled, instead of just rooms with Windows units. (3) Energy efficiency: use less energy to heat home and water. Also the incentives (tax credit, rebates and loan) were wonderful to help us ease the burden on the wallet. (4) Space: the new system occupied far less space than the old oil furnace, radiators and oil tank. I shopped around, relying on Angieslist for my referrals. I chose to go with Cooling Unlimited because of the timely responses I was getting initially from the sales advisor, Mark. Other companies didn't seem to return phone calls as promptly as Mark did. It also helped that the pricing seemed very fair compared to other competitor's quotes. During Mark?s first visit, he brought up the idea of replacing my water heater with a new indirect water heater. At first I didn?t fully comprehend the benefits of it but it later became very obvious why it was a no brainer. Besides the fact that the indirect water heater saves energy and has a lifetime warranty, it also did not need to be vented through my chimney (which my old water heater did). Instead of investing (or wasting) money in a new chimney liner to comply with safety codes, I invested in a new indirect water heater. The guys (Mike and Sean) who performed the installation were very meticulous and worked very efficiently. They arrived early everyday to get started. The workmanship surrounding every newly installed equipment was wonderful. Mike made every effort to accommodate any requests that I made. They kept the house/work areas as clean as possible which I appreciated. I was extremely happy with their professionalism and their quality of work. Just fantastic! It?s nice to know that referrals from Angieslist really paid off here for me! After making final payment, Meghan at Cooling Unlimited compiled all the supporting documents that I needed for the various rebates and tax credits. She was very organized and thorough as she delivered the claim forms and documents to me. The package arrived with clear instructions on Post-It notes on what areas I needed to complete before submitting my claims. This made the "paper pushing" process very easy. I have utilized both components (cooling and heating) since the completion of the project. I was assured from Mark that if I had any problems with either my heating or cooling system within the first year, I was covered. When the heating was turned on for the first time in mid September, the hot air from the heating system didn?t seem hot enough. I placed a service call with Cooling Unlimited and they did address and resolve the issue in a timely matter. So far so good! If there was one complaint that I had to make about Cooling Unlimited, it would have to be that sometimes it would take several days to get responses from Mark, the sales advisor. I had to follow up with him a number of occasions on deliverables that he promised but it required me to chase him down for them. Mark was very responsive at the start but not so much later on. Mark was still always enjoyable to work with every time we connected. Overall my experiences with Cooling Unlimited have been very pleasant! I highly recommend them.

We obtained quotes from three different vendors that we found on Angies List. Cooling Unlimited gave us the best quote but also were the most responsive. Mark, our sales rep, was very prompt in responding to emails and phone calls, was very patient with our questions and concerns (I was pregnant and we wanted the work finished before the baby's arrival), and helped us pick the best units for our house. There was some miscommunication about the work dates that caused some stress but it worked out eventually. We were glad we had the AC units installed and savored the coolness all summer long.

Went well. My central heating system stopped working overnight. I called Cooling Unlimited in the morning. They set up the service for 1pm. The technician arrived right on time. He immediately identified the problem and solved it. He also helped me with getting my gas fireplace to start. In summary: they were very responsive, service was great, the technician was very polite and knowledgeable. About the price, I haven't shopped around much, but it seems pretty standard. I also had them solve a problem with my central AC last summer and that experience was positive as well.

Scheduled an appointment during a heat wave and the service tech showed up on time. Spent a few hours testing the system and making repairs. Thought we had everything working correctly but after he left the system failed again. Called the main office and was promised someone would return that day. After not hearing back I called again and was told no one was available and they would schedule me as the first appointment for the next morning. A different, more senior service tech did show up as promised early the next morning. Some additional repairs were made and the system worked perfectly for the rest of the summer. Very professional outfit who were able to repair my system which has given other companies many problems.

Our central AC died right in the middle of the heat and humidity of July. We called several companies from Angieslist and Cooling Unlimited was one of the first to come out. The technician arrived as scheduled, was a young man, very polite, very professional and thorough, obviously at the early stages of his career. I say that because he exhibited a cautious and careful approach to his diagnostics and was on his cell throughout conferring with someone at the office to insure he was covering all the bases. He completed his analysis, explained everything in detail and his determination was that the compressor had failed. Within minutes our phone rang and the office was calling to say the owner of Cooling Unlimited would be out to discuss our options. Dennis arrived on schedule was as thorough as his technician, and made sure we understood exactly what the problem was and all our options. I was most impressed with the fact that when I gave him opportunity to knock the manufacturer of the now dead unit, he simply said " they can be problematic", a huge plus in my book. In my opinion bashing the competition is very unprofessional, he handled it perfectly. The fact that the unit was old and used a now banned refrigerant meant the repair was going to be significantly more involved than originally thought. Dennis said it could be done, and was more than willing to chase down the parts, but acknowledged it was going to take time and in the end we would still have an 10+ year old unit....our call. He said they were inundated with failed AC units this was the 3rd call that day but would work as aggressively as necessary to get us back up and running ASAP. Given the circumstances we decided to get other quotes and given the fact that the heater was older than the AC and had been giving up problems as well, we would add that to the list. Cooling unlimited was by no means the least expensive, but they were not off by miles compared to our other quotes. Prior to the final installation, I spoke with Dennis a few times and he determined he should come out again to insure we were both in agreement as to how to coordinate the install of the new units, as I wanted to fix the concrete under the furnace before the new one was installed. We scheduled the install for the next week, and a back up a day the following week. We got a call that he had an opening 1 day prior to our first install date so we took it. His guys arrived on time, were very professional and courteous, accommodated my schedule for fixing the floor, and finished the job on time. The install was clean and looks outstanding. It should be noted that the heating system was not exactly as quoted, it's a slight upgrade. During the follow up visit we discussed and Dennis decided he would be more comfortable installing the better unit, he would absorb the cost as it was his decision to change not ours.

Leo arrived just at the top of the window of time and quickly determined what was wrong. It was then a service call instead of a repair. Their service charge is $119, but they have a $20 coupon on the website. The problem had been that I'd covered the hot air intakes with a rug, etc. Naturally I was happy it wasn't something worse that would have been more costly. I would use this company again. Leo was very professional and offered me good advice on adding hot air returns upstairs where there are none.

My first attempt to contact them was by email via the Angie's List website - unfortunately, I did not receive a reply. However, when I called them, they were apologetic and said that they'd had computer problems. From then on, things went smoothly: A technician (M.P.) came out for a diagnostic visit for $120 (- $20 with an Angie's List coupon). He found the problem quickly, and said a colleague (Doreen) would call me back. He was friendly and explained the problem well. After some trouble finding the right part (during which time they kept me informed of what's going on), a generic replacement was located, and 3 days later, after agreeing on the total price up-front, a different technician (Bob) came to perform the repair. Bob was courteous and professional; he even replaced a small, frayed piece of insulation around a pipe at no extra cost. On running tests after successfully replacing the fan & capacitor he noticed some unusual numbers, but he did not push for further repairs; while he explained what would have to be done, he said that as long as the system performed to satisfaction, there was no need to tackle the issue. Please note that the "B" rating for the cost is based on nothing more than a gut feeling - I really cannot say how they compare to the competition. One quibble - really not a big deal in the great scheme of things - the otherwise helpful and friendly phone contact person on two occasions promised to give me a call shortly before the technician would arrive, but didn't follow through in either case.

This is an excellent company. During a recent heat wave they moved heaven and earth to get the part that I needed and get my AC back up and running as quickly as possible. I was especially impressed by the office staff who, once they heard my son had asthma, spent hours on the phone looking for a new part that was all but obsolete. I don't know how they did it, but they found one. The technicians were very skilled and professional as well. They did their work efficiently and explained things well too. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. I wish all contractors were this good.

I have a 23 year old A/C Carrier unit. A/C stopped working. I called Cooling Unlimited, Inc on July 12th & they sent someone to my home within a few hours. Technician was professional, honest and thorough. He fixed a loose wirenut & other electrical problems near contactor, added freon, tested system, examined entire A/C unit inside and out. Did not leave until everything was running properly. I will use them again, including yearly maintenance.

I called and was given an appointment for a few days later to get an estimate on replacing my oil furnace with a gas furnace. Some time later they called and changed the appointment time, I said OK. The day of the appointment I called in the morning to verify the time, and they said yes they were coming. I said please don't be late as I need to pick up my daughter from school one hour after the scheduled appointment time. They said they would call if they were running late. Well no one ever showed up and not even a phone call to let me know. Very unprofessional.

The company was slow to respond to an email request for a quote, but once they finally contacted me I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days. As with all installs, there were minor knicks to be worked out which was not unexpected. However, what proved so different was their response. They not only were on top of the problem but fixed the problem immediately.Their service manager immediately came out with their repairman to supervise the job and followed by the the owner who came to our home to make sure that everything had been handled to both his and our satisfaction. Initally, our expectation was for Cooling Unlimited to just do the install after which we would return to our old provider. However with their level of servcie and expertise, we choose to remain with them. This is a unqiue company: a combination of real competance coupled with that rare commodity- service. Working with Cooling Unlimited proved to be wonderful experience in every way. We unconditionally recommend them.

I interviewed 4 contractors, all of whom were professional and appealing. Mark from Cooling Unlimited came to the site, checked out the old system, answered ALL questions gladly, was very helpful. HE followed up with a phone call a few days later, and I told him i would get back to him (I was busy with other house problems) After receiving quotes from 3 of the 4 contractors (4th seemed too busy to send one) I had a 2 rounds of Q&A via email with the 3 contractors, and during the 2nd round, (when my make a decision deadline was approaching) Mark did not reply within 2 or 3 days, and I assumed he was busy, and perhaps did not need the work as badly as the others. My deadline came, I made a choice. Unfortunately (for me), he contacted me when I sent him a follow up email saying thanks but I hired someone else. Had he and I been better coordinated, I well might have hired them. the B for responsiveness is because of the above. Otherwise, Cooling Unlimited was great.

My gas furnace was malfunctioning and needed professional assistance. After reading the positive reviews for Cooling Unlimited I called and was able to have a tech (Leo) at my home on the same day within the one hour window which was promised (punctuality is so important, thank you). Leo was professional, friendly, respectful of my home, and very knowledgeable. This furnace came with the home I recently purchased and Leo took the time to explain different aspects of its functionality, preventive maintenance, optimal heating efficiency, and troubleshooting. After taking his time and trying different things, he discovered the source of the problem (a broken part), and confirmed with a local home improvement shop that the part was in stock. As an avid DIYer, I was eager and easily able to finish the repair myself. Often when having work done, one feels that a company is attempting to nickel and dime as much as possible to inflate the bottom line. This was not my experience at all with Cooling Unlimited and so long as Cooling Unlimited continues to exceed expectations, they have a lifelong customer here.
