Description of Work: They had to replace one of the coils that was defective.

Description of Work: I had 2 a/c units to be looked at. 1st unit needed a capacitor & Coolant. Repairman suggest that compressor may need to be replaced & could be leaking the coolant from the inside of the apartment. Both to be done at a later date. 2nd unit (did not have a problem ) was looked at and coolant was added at no charge.

Description of Work: I called to set up the tune up for my system, the tech arrived and stated he could not just do a simple tune up, that the system required much more work than would be covered in the coupon. He stated the coupon could not be used towards the estimate he would do on the work required so I had to pay $129 that day for the estimate of work. He stated it would likely be around $500 for the total job, but that he did not have the prices available to him for all the parts. When I called the office later to get a firm estimate, I was told it would be just over $1000 to get the system in good working order. I then managed to get my father-in-law to come over, who works as an HVAC specialist for Harvard University. He found some loose wires within 5 minutes, fixed them, and the system has since been working great for the past 4 months. Needless to say, I do not wish to do business with this company and would like a refund for the coupon. Thank you for your consideration, Chris Silvius.

Description of Work: I had Cooling Unlimited come to do a A/C Tune Up and inspection on my system as an Angie's List Big Deal. The Big Deal price was great and they took care of my system. But they found several issues which needed to be dealt with. They explained all the issues with photos and provided a reasonable breakdown of how much it would cost to fix. They suggested that with the age of my system (12 years) it might be more cost effective to leave it alone for now and buy a new system soon. Their prices seemed a bit higher for the repairs than I probably would have gotten if I got quotes from other companies, but I went ahead with the work. My system has worked very well through this summer and my electric bills have been substantially lower despite being the same system.

Description of Work: Unclogged a sink. We have used them twice now. One was an emergency and they came the next morning ( we called them at 9 pm the night before) The second time they came the same day. The were very professional.

Description of Work: They came out as part of a $69 A/C tune up. The unit had not been serviced since at least us moving into the house about 5 yrs ago and figured it was time. They came out and appeared to do what was listed on the Big Deal sheet and they found a few things to fix. Again this was not a big surprise as the unit is 9 yrs old. They gave me an estimate for over $800 worth of services: a chemical cleaning of the outside unit, capacitor replacement and a new condensate pump. i had the first 2 services completed but declined the pump. | They were polite professional and moved about the job quickly. I did feel the tune up was more of an excuse to give me a list of repair items. The unit does start up quickly and looks better than it has since we moved in. I am still a bit taken aback at the $300 dollar charge for a new condensate pump. A quick review of the web for costs of a pump anywhere from $30-$115. The higher end being for very large units, not really a home unit. I split the diffrennce and bought a $75 unit. It took 10 minutes to change over. SO i have no idea where 300 comes from. | Because i do believe the guys were professional and did understand what they were doing i would use the services again if i had issues.

Description of Work: I paid for a service tune-up on my air conditioning system. They came right on time. Unfortunately, my AC wasn't working properly so he could not perform the tune-up. Instead, he diagnosed the problem and charged me the diagnosis fee. This was fine, he opened his price sheet and gave me an idea what repairs would cost and said someone would get back to me with a quote. A week went by, no response at all. So, I fixed the problem myself. I then re-scheduled a new tune-up (since I had already paid for it through Angie's List). This time a different guy showed up but he was right on time. He seemed less than interested in me watching him do the work so I let him to it. The work took him 15-20 minutes, when he was done, he gave me a list of $500 worth of maintenance repairs that should be done. He did not show me the issues he was referring to though. I am debating having them do the work and finding someone else.

Description of Work: The technician serviced my air conditioning unit and explained exactly what he did and what I need to do going forward to maintain the system. He answered all of my questions and was very polite. I asked that they come back to do an estimate on replacing my heat pump.

Description of Work: The person came and performed an AC tune up and assessed our ac system. The person took pictures and was supposed to email them to me with an assessment of other work that was recommended to be done. I never heard from them again. While the work they did at the time was great, when you recommend that the entire system needs to be replaced or just a few small fixes and you never hear back I find to be very unprofessional. At this point if this follow up work needed to be done I would not use them in the future.

Description of Work: Cooling Unlimited provided great service and were very prompt, courteous and professional. Given that, the only negative I saw was the price appeared to be on the high side. To their credit, they were helpful in getting some rebates for me for the installed equipment, but the final price was higher than competitors.

Description of Work: 20 point air conditioner tune-up. Went very well. He gave me an estimate on things that need to be fixed and didn't pressure me to do it right away. I'm going to get another estimate and if comparable, I'm calling Cooling Unlimited back!

Description of Work: Our air conditioning unit was lubed. Unfortunately, we needed a new unit. Within a week, Cooling unlimited replaced our unit at a very fair price.

Description of Work: They cleaned and tuned up my gas furnace and central air conditioner systems which hadn't been cleaned in at least 4 years. The person was very punctual, professional, and worked quickly. He replaced a few parts that were not performing well, and thoroughly cleaned everything. He also gave me a lot of good information about how to keep the system running well. Although the Big Deal from Angie's List was a great deal, the work done over and above this (including the parts needed) was very expensive (although this was probably fair market value).

Description of Work: Overall, the job went well. The only problem was that there were some pieces of duct work that were not properly attached and air was leaking out. And, a piece of duct work that was not being worked on was damages and a gaping hole was present allowing air to escape; it was not brought to my attention. I had to inspect the project to notice these issues. However, they responded promptly to fix the issue.
