Bill and his crew arrived promptly and began the work quickly. I was very impressed at how the crew kept the mess to a minimum (removing collapsed clay liner from furnace pipe). The liner installation was done in a day, the chimney was repaired - and Bob had to find a creative way to install a clean-out door because of the unusual construction of the chimney.

Bob and his crew were great.  He explained everything in great detail, they were punctual and professional, they did a great job, and he was a pleasure to work with.  I was surprised how much the job cost, but they did do a lot over three full days.  I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I had purchased this home February 28, 2012 and was told the chimney had new flashing.  After closing, however, I noticed problems with my kitchen ceiling. Upon closer look at the chimney from inside the attic, I found rain water was coming in around the base of the chimney and causing damage. I could look out at the sky from the sides of the chimney.  I contacted Bill Weir at Atlantic Chimney; he came right out to inspect the chimney and witnessed rain water coming into the attic around the chimney.  Because it was raining that day, he came back another day and did a thorough examination from the roof, taking pictures of condition of the chimney. He also examined the chimney from the basement where the oil burner connects.  Bill explained the work needed and recommended a liner to prevent further damage.
My goal for having the chimney repaired, was to stop the leaking into the attic and damage to the ceiling in the living space around the location of the chimney.  I was concerned with function, not look.  However, what a surprise to see that not only had the work performed by Bill and his team stopped the leaking, I see a chimney that looks strong, well constructed, clean, capped, and lead that looks very professional installed. The work was all done in one day, the chimney looks a hundred times better than it had.
Would I recommend Atlantic Chimney?  Yes, without hesitation.  I enjoyed talking with Bill, Kim and Sheila in the office, with George who is a master with flashing. 
Oh, Bill likes dogs.  As soon as he saw my greyhound we talked about our furry companions like we were old friends.

My home is a very attractiveRoyal Barry Willls style cape with two large white brick chimneys.    During the very "snowy" winter of 2011, a roofing contractor noticed that some bricks were dislodged/some had fallen on the roof from one chimney.     Obtained quotes from three contractors:    two wanted to completely rebuild both chimneys for quotes ranging from $13,000 to $27,000.    Contacted my plumber, whose judgment I value, and was referred to Atlantic Chimney.        Fabulous job.....repaired both chimneys, repointed where necessary, and then encased both in a waterproof mortar product (looks like stucco); painted both white and added a black cap at the top.    This process will last for many, many years.    
Prior to decision to contract with Atlantlic, was given names and addresses of other customers who had applied a similar technique.   Visited two homes, one in Milton and the other in Dedham, both were also delighted with work performed by Atlantic.
All in all, I am thoroughly delighted with the project Atlantic completed.      Would rehire without hesitation.

Was very helpful, prompt and friendly. He explained what was happening, offered different suggestions and estimates, should we want to pursue them - no pressure though. We will use them again when we need a chimney sweep at the end of the season!

This was the first time that I had them out and they were fine. It turned out fine. They were punctual. They were functional and professional. They came exactly when they said that they would and did what they said that they would do.

We got the quote, and we did not end up going with them. The price they quoted was good. Their representative who came was very knowledgeable and personable. I would definitely contact then again in the future.

They were the only company that got up on the roof to take pictures. Their prices were comparable to the competition. Their workers were fine, although they were very eager to begin work.

I requested an estimate from the company before I purchased my first home. I had previously been informed that I needed to rebuild the entire chimney. Within a day, Mr. Martin had arranged to review the job and provide an estimate. After evaluating the chimney, he provided an honest assessment that the whole chimney did not have to be rebuilt, but in fact, only needed a liner. I called back after purchasing the house and the job was scheduled within 2 weeks. Mr. Martin and his crew promptly and timely completed the job. These contractors were polite, courteous and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone needing chimney repairs.

I felt that their price was kind of heavy. Overall they were fine, nothing really stuck out from the service that they had provided.

Everyone from Atlantic was amazing from the start. Calls returned and I even got a call the day before as a reminder and again an explanation as to what was going to be done. the men on the job were professional and friendly. They completed a huge job working non-stop as they wanted to make sure I had heat for the night. Clean-up was out of this world. You would never imagined that work was even done here, not a trace of any debris. I already recommended them to friends and family.

Made an appointment for a friday afternoon. They failed to show. When I called Atlantic Chimney to inquire, they said that they had no record of me placing an appointment (!), and that the soonest they could get someone there would be 2 weeks from that time. Now this company may be good at chimney sweeps, its not like I know since I'm still here waiting, but what I do know is that on the administrative side, they don't care. They probably took my appointment and either failed to enter it into the computer, or needed to reschedule, and couldn't be bothered with contacting me. I guess they must be so busy that customer service is a casualty. The person I talked to (Kim, who said she was the manager) was of absolute no help and really could care less that I was inconvenienced. My advice, if you have to use Atlantic Chimney, confirm your appointments with them, by phone, email, fax, whatever. Otherwise you may be out half a days pay like me.

They found a crack in the flu chimney. He recommend to replace the whole liner which would have been expensive. I didn't have the money so I used another company and they were able to make a repair, rather than replace the whole liner. He did a good job cleaning, but I felt he was trying to make more money by recommending something I didn't need.

They were on time, professional and very clean. I'll be using them next year to clean the chimney. I would highly recommend this company.

They are still in the process of the work. They have come three times and are still fixing things. They have been responsive to our calls. They are very good about cleaning up.

It went pretty well. They are close by. They were recommended to me and I had tried previous chimney services that wasn't very good, so this company repaired the damage for me. I found them to be very professional.

We initially called Bob to give an estimate for putting in a chimney liner, after a home inspector highlighted our lack of one as a safety hazard. Bob explained that it was almost impossible to put a liner into an antique chimney like ours. He recommended blocking off the fireplace instead, to pre-empt liability issues when we rented the place out. Bob worked efficiently, was friendly and communicated well. The fireplace looks great.

Chose this company from Angie's List. Made phone call. Received prompt reply. Set up date & time for first job, which was chimney cleaning. Arrived promptly on specified date & time. After determining needs and circumstances, explained "the job" and its associated cost. Carried out the "job" of chimney cleaning. Cleaned up and left no mess behind. At time of cleaning, recommended to install chimney liner and explained why (i.e. older home; fire protection, etc). Set up appointment and again, arrived promptly on specified date & time. Installed chimney liner. Cleaned up and left no mess behind. Professional, business-like and knowledgeable. No problems experienced.

They came when they said they would and got here on time. They worked quickly, didn t cause any damages while working and were professional. Their pricing was good, as well as the people on the phone. The people that came out were very helpful.

Very good experience overall. Professional. Quality work. Reasonable price that was quite a bit lower than estimates from other highly rated chimney companies advertised on Angie's list--for the exact same liner.

Although the price seemed a bit much for an inspection, they also gave me good information about how to use the flue, and how to start a fire without smoking out my house. They even gave me information on buying a wood stove. Best of all, they said that I didn't need to get the chimney swept. They could have made more money, and I wouldn't have known any better! Overall, they did a great, trustworthy job.

This was a very positive experience overall. The team that worked on the rebuild of the chimney were very knowledgeable and made sure the work was perfect. They were careful to not cause too much dirt and debris from getting inside or outside our home. They were willing to listen to concerns and take that into consideration while doing the job.
