Bob was easy to talk to and he understood what we had in mind very quickly. What we suggested he took and creatively replaced our patio with a design which was exactly what we had in mind - even better. He accommodated us as far as our time was concerned and he showed up when we were ready and had the job done and cleaned up when he said it would. Can't ask for more than this.

We are happy everyday day when we drive up or walk out and see our patio.

The project went very well. The quality of the work beat my expectations. I found Naturescape here on Angies, checked out pics on their website and facebook page. Contacted Bob, the owner, he came out to my house in a couple days to discuss my project and provided a detailed estimate a few days later. His estimate was right in the middle of a few others I received. I ending up going with Naturscape not because of the good estimate but because of Bob, his eye for detail and the quality of work. During our initial meeting, he provided great ideas, showed me examples of similar projects he had done and walked me through his entire process for a project of my scope. He provided great communication throughout the entire project, letting me know next steps, start times, daily expectations and any issues that arose. He was completely open and honest to any tweaks and add-ons made during the project. Overall, everything was completed within the expected time frame and the quality of work from hardscaping to landscaping was truly amazing. I definitely plan on working with Bob on any future landscaping/hardscaping projects. The work speaks itself (see my pics) and Bob's process and communication are best I've experienced, bar none.
DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK INSTALLED:
? 2 x 2 x 40 foot, curved retaining wall, that runs from my garage foundation, along the edge my driveway to the steps of my front walk and then further along the other side of the steps. Dry-Stack face with super tight seams and no exposed mortar, hidden drainage pipes with sealed top. Paver and concrete internal structure on a bed of crushed stone. This thing is beautiful, functions properly and built to last through years of New England weather.
? Walk-way repair of sunken pavers, addition of 3rd granite step, regrading and building of 20ft of walk to accommodate new step.
? 8ft granite lamp post, Including rough wiring.
? New and extended landscape beds for wall, walkway and side of house.
? New Plantings for Wall bed and walkway edge.
? Removal of old and installation of new mulch for entire property.

Response from Naturescape
"It is amazing how much a wall changed the front of the house . Enjoy!"

We had been looking to hire a contractor for the past couple
of years to do several landscape projects on our property. I received several
estimates from other local landscape companies and had actually hired two of
them who inexplicably proved to be no-shows.
I discovered Naturescapes on Angie?s list and contacted owner Bob
Whyte to receive estimates for the work we were looking to get done. Rarely do
you find a dedicated, customer oriented and honest contractor like Bob Whyte. Bob
came out and spent a great deal of time evaluating and planning the work that
we wanted done and we received his estimates with-in a few days of his visit
via e-mail. The estimates clearly detailed the work to be done and the
materials required, sample pictures were provided of previous Naturescapes
projects that were similar to what we were looking for. Bob pointed out
drainage and design issues that none of the other contractors we contacted took
note of. His pricing was equal to or lower than the other estimates we had
received.
Work began during the agreed upon time frame. Bob and his
crew are craftsman at their trade. Extremely hard working, they arrived on
time, and the attention they gave to the project customer was exceptional. We
originally hired them to install stairs and a paver patio off of our walk-out
basement.  Once we saw the quality and
value of the workmanship we knew we had found a contractor we could continue to work with.
Over the next several weeks we hired Naturescapes to do several
other projects: Our property had a cement and cobblestone circular driveway
that had been poorly installed by the previous owners and had become an eyesore.
Naturescapes assisted with the demolition of the driveway and installed a
serpentine paver walkway in its place. The remainder of the drive was
eliminated and was loomed and seeded. Flowers and shrubs were planted along the
walkway. Next an old, undersized deck off of the sunroom was demolished and a
patio, walkway and granite stairs were installed matching the design that Naturescapes
had completed on the walk out patio and stairs. A flower garden was installed
next to the sunroom that ties into the walkway. The final job was the removal
of a pressure treated lumber retaining wall and cement staircase at the end of
the driveway. The asphalt driveway was end cut into a curve shape and a hand
fitted field stone wall with granite steps was constructed that connected to
the walkway leading to the patio.
During all phases of this work underground electrical conduit
needed to be installed or rerouted.
Irrigation heads had to be added or relocated. PVC pipe was installed
under the walkways to allow for any future expansion of the irrigation or
electrical requirements. Drainage was routed underground to eliminate unsightly
drainpipes and drain covers. Colored stucco was applied to unsightly cement
retaining walls. Loam and seed was put down in the required areas. Naturescapes
has a team of professions that provided all of these services.
I did a fair amount of nit-picking and continually piled on
the work and despite all the other construction projects that Naturescapes had
going on this summer, they some how managed to complete all that I had
requested.
Obviously, we are extremely happy with the quality of the
work and the cost, these improvements made an amazing difference in our
property. Bob and his crew are extremely polite and courteous, always asking if
the work was to our satisfaction or if we wanted anything changed. Bob answered
all phone calls and text messages almost immediately, and he continuously
followed up as the work progressed.
Hire him.

The work was delayed because he  has been extremely busy.  He did call us to inform us of the delays and although we were anxious to get it done we waited paiently.
He came on October 11, 2013 and performed the job efficiently and quickly.  Even though it was delayed it was well worth the wait.  He gave his personal attention to the job and his men were polite and hard working.
I have no complaints and do realize that my job was small and he had other much bigger jobs to handle.
We are very happy with the result and of course my relatives love the way it all looks.
The granite stairs and pavement are beautiful and will be maintenance free which is what we wanted.

Naturescapes did a wonderful job at our house.  This was a rather large project, and we were amazed at  how quickly and efficiently the work was completed.
Naturescape even coordinated with other contractors working at our property to make everything go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.  The outcome was PERFECT!  They are really on top of their game.  Highly recommend.

I purchased the paver stone special (50 sq ft for $399.00, plus an additional $100.00 excavation fee) through Angie's List.  Bob Whyte, the owner of Naturescape, responded right away with a message via Angie's List, and we made an appt for him to come over the following Saturday to discuss the project.  Originally I wanted to use pavers for the entire driveway, but Bob was honest in letting me know just how expensive that would be - way out of my price range.  Instead, he suggested, and I agreed, that a paver stone walkway and a hard-packed gravel/stone driveway might better suit my budget. The final result is beautiful, a 1000% improvement over the old walkway/driveway area, which had consisted of overgrown weeds, dirt and scattered loose granite remains of a very old driveway. The work was completed in a professional and timely manner and, although I had paid Angie's List upfront for the paver special, Bob didn't ask for any additional funds upfront for the much more expensive driveway project ($2000).  I didn't pay anything more until the entire job was completely finished.  I would recommend Naturescape to anyone needing this kind of work.

Bob White, the owner of Naturescape, was a pleasure to work with. He took time to understand what we wanted and gave good advice on prioritizing the projects we want to do in the future.
He also helped us find a good tree removal service at a very fair price. Naturescape removed the stumps. His guys were polite, detail oriented and FAST.
It took 1.5 days to do all the work - and we have a very long driveway and had many, many stumps and boulders to remove.
I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

I had a small area in the back of my house that was difficult to take care of (because of weeds) and just unsightly.

I called Bob for a quote to have pavers placed. He returned my call right away and we set a date for him to come out.  Bob came when he said he would, even earlier. I showed him the space I had out back.( I was a little worried that the job might be too small for Bob after seeing some of the beautiful work on his website). He had a vision right away, and guaranteed the space was not too small and would look beautiful.  I had at least 5 other estimates from Angie's list and chose Bob because of his honesty and trustworthiness. There's a feeling you get when you know someone is being straight forward with you.

The Job was done completely in 2 days, the yard was cleaned after, and it does look beautiful! I have a nice new patio  area out back and I love it.     THANKS BOB +co

The quality of the work was excellent. He responded to some real small concerns with the mulching and made it right. Threw in a couple of down spout changes that were not part of the original deal. He was up front that he could not start for about 4 weeks when he gave the estimate due to his workload. The price was in line with his estimate not one penny over. I would recommend him for comparable work in the future

We originally called Bob Whyte for an estimate because of all the great reviews on Angie's List, and were thrilled to find out he is located in our area.  Our project took a few days  longer than expected, but that was due to the weather.  It was still completed by the date we needed it to be done by.  The workmen were some of the hardest working men we've ever seen.  They did an amazing job.  We are very happy with our new wall and the plantings.   It is beautiful!  Bob has such wonderful ideas.  In talking with Bob, we decided to go with a different plan for our wall than the one we originally called him for.  His plan actually saved us money...we really appreciated his honesty.  We  have a few more projects we'd like to have done and can't wait to hear Bob's ideas on those as well.  All in all, it was a great experience.  Looking forward to having him come back!

These days, responsiveness from contractors is in short supply. So I was pleasantly surprised when Bob promptly Returned my call, followed up with a quick quote, and scheduled the work according to the agreed timeline. 2 months later the new sod lawn looks great and the paved walkway gets lots of complements. Bob takes pride in his work and does not disappoint.

Bob, from Naturescape returned our call in a timely manner. He came out to look over what we wanted to have done at the time he said he would. We explained what we wanted to have done. He took his time, measuring the area, and asking just what we wanted to have done. We were originally thinking about just having a 12x20 foot pad put in. He suggested that we have the new patio go up to our pool, and instead of having a rectangle, that maybe a curved patio would look better. He also suggested where and what types of plants we could use to improve the overall look of the patio area.
We had several different companies come out to give us an estimate. Bob showed an attention to detail that none of the others did. His price was inline with what most of the other estimates were.
The quality of work done was topnotch. They completely cleaned up after themselves. To the point, they reseeded the parts of our lawn that were damaged by their equipment, they powered washed my driveway to get the marks from their tucks off of it, and power washed a small shed that got some marking paint on it by accident.
We are very pleased with Naturescapes work, and would recommend them.

I am extremely pleased with the professionalism and work accomplished.  I had been very frustrated by the lack of response from other excavators.  After a home inspection, we discovered the water pipe from the street, supplying our home with water, was very rusty and in need of immediate replacement.  I contacted a company recommended by the town and they came out to inspect; however, they waited a month to get back to me and then told me they were too busy.  I contacted a couple more companies and never got a response.  Bob Whyte immediately responded to my request and was very prompt in responding to every question and kept me informed of when he was able to inspect the property and provide an estimate.  He gave me the estimate and explained that he would take care of required permits and inspections and arrange for the plumber to connect the new pipe to home plumbing. This was a big deal and much appreciated since the coordination would have been difficult for me and may have meant no water for over a day. He did his best to keep the job to a single day, although explained that it was possible it could take more than a day due to factors beyond his control. He also told me exactly what damage would occur to the plants and tried to minimize that was much as possible.  I was not able to be there. He started on time and completed the work that day. He explained to my family that the water may be rusty as the extra water pressure caused some murkiness as it worked through the pipes.  Several days later they had a problem with low water pressure. He called them back immediately and told them what to do.  It worked and there hasn't been a problem since.  Bob sent me a picture of the job. He gave me a call to go over the results.   He also warned me that one of the trees needed to be removed due to weakening its root structure from excavation.  He did a great job, was very responsive, very knowledgeable, great to work wit, and was extremely professional.  I would use him again and highly recommend him to anyone needing landscaping and excavation work.  With all the excavators who don't even bother to call back, he stood out.

We hired Bob Whyte (Naturescape) to remove some trees, excuvate the back yard, remove the brush and vegetation from the higher ground, create a slope to access the furtherst part of the yard and to take down and reinstall a section of our fence for access.  We are pleased with the work.  All the materials removed were to stay onsite, however we ran out of space in the middle of the project and talked to Bob about hauling off the rest of the fill.  He was able to change the scope of the project on short notice and made arrangements for it to be removed.  Very please with the work.

He definitely knows what he is doing, very knowledgeable.  Came to my house to look at the project and immediately developed a really clear vision for what he thought would look nice.  Talked me through what he was thinking and then presented a bid that included a variety of option (ie with or without mulch, with or without the metal trim around the garden, with shells, with stones, with grasses or without etc etc)  that allowed me to tailor the project to the options and price point I wanted without have to go back and forth - I liked that process a lot.   When they came, they did the whole job in a day - and they actually did more work that we had agreed on. He saw the tree in the front and (rightly) thought it didn't look right without putting some of the edging and rocks around it too so he threw it in, that was a nice surprise, and I think it shows he'll go the extra mile to ensure that the finished project is really nice.   He followed up with a phone call to give me instructions on the care which so far has been good (we got a lot of rain afterwards as well so that helped. )   I think the ONLY thing I would have liked to see different would have been a written set of instructions with the specific information on "here's what I planted, here's how to take care of the plants now and over the winter".  I got some notes from the call, but still don't know the names of everything that was planted.  It would be nice finishing touch to an already really tight operation) to have that for customers as a leave behin.
Response from Naturescape
"Thx for the review. Your thoughts on maintenance directions is a great idea. Will be doing that moving forward."
