VCA Plymouth Animal Hospital and Pet Resort

I would never go back! I was a loyal customer for 8 years but the minute the pandemic hit their services rapidly declined! They refused to perform a routine x-ray that would be the bare minimum standard of care for my pet. I believe they chose not to do this as it was a service covered under my care plan and they wouldn’t receive any money for it. I had to pay out of pocket at another vet for X-rays and treatment which resulted in lost time diagnosing my dog and most likely affected her quality of life! Would not recommend to anyone!

I used them for a long time. They were very wonderful. They even sent me a condolence card when my cat passed away. The vet even wrote a personal note in there.

I would use them again in future.

The cost was about $85.

Had a problem with our female dog.  Dr. Stuart, called me back.  We worked out the problem over the phone. She upchucked her medicine and she hadn't had her medicine for the day.
He called and it didn't cost me anything.

The staff was very responsive and helpful.  We bring our pets there regularly for veterinary care and find the doctors & staff wonderful. They answer all our questions and are very skilled & kind to our aging pets.

We tried using VCA Plymouth for years due to the convenient location and range of services they offer. Unfortunately, our experiences ranged from a serious misdiagnosis almost resulting in the death of our dog to a rude receptionist to their promotion a flea/tick preventative (Simple Guard) which we later found out is made exclusively for VCA and has severe side effects. We will not take our animals there again.

This was my first VCA Animal Hospital experience. I took my cat for a FREE initial exam. The facility in Plymouth is easy to get to; parking is ample; the setting is relaxing (at least to me -- not so much to my cat, but that's unavoidable); the floors, exam tables etc. seemed clean; the staff was friendly. When we made it into the exam room, the vet tech couldn't have been sweeter or more informative, and she seemed to be intent on getting all of my cat's history etc. The vet who joined us later also was very nice and thorough. Some "optional" testing and products were suggested, but I certainly would NOT say that anything was pushed on me. I can't comment on the overall price issue since this exam was FREE -- really, no catches to it! I didn't find the pricing for the optional testing that I elected to have done to be way out of line. The products I opted to try (and, I inquired about one of them -- neither the tech nor the vet pushed the product on me) were probably a bit on the pricey side, but not more so than when purchased at any other vet's office.

They took me right away. I am a new puppy owner and was pretty panicked. The veterinarian really put me at ease and was very knowledgeable and helpful. They did not rush to charge me for anything that was unnecessary. I would highly recommend them. We plan to use them as a Pet Resort when we go on vacation and will also be using their grooming services.
