. In all of my dealings with pool companies these past couple of years (which have not been good!) I would put Walter at the top of the charts. He is THE BEST of THE BEST. Walter is courteous, prompt, absolutely knows what he is talking about and does a great job of explaining things. I would highly recommend Walter for any job you are contemplating with your pool. It to say it was a big mistake hiring Affordable Pools to close our pool last fall and open it this May. After it was opened the water was green, you couldn't see the bottom and the filter was not circulating the water in the pool. We called and asked them to come back and check out the problem. We were put on a list for a return visit. Two weeks later we called again and were told they had "opened" the pool and they would not come back. Since then we have hired Coastal Pool in Pembroke to remedy the situation. Their customer service is fantastic and their pool technicians are top notch. They have definitely earned our future business.

"we went to this location 2 times to open the pool and they were not prepared the tarp cover was not pumped off and there were a lot of leaves on the cover so it was impossible to get the cover off without spilling the leaves and water into the pool. they were told this but they decided they wanted us to pull cover off anyway. they called a week later and wanted us to come back and vacuum the pool. which we don't do and would not do for something that was caused by their negligence many people think that a pool opening will include water balancing and vacuuming of the pool which they would pay a lot more money for. we tell people what is included with our pool openings she was informed but WANTED more than she paid for. If your pool company doesn't tell you what is included with their pool opening ASK WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH A POOL OPENING"

Never called us prior to arriving at our home, as promised. No idea what chemicals they put in pool if any. Pool cover was shoved into bag half in half out. Not acceptable.

"I tried to call but had no service at the time so we showed up did the job properly with the proper amount of chemicals added to the pool the cover was cleaned and folded the proper way and put into a bag that was supplied too us the cover did not fit in the bag I must say that this rating is very unfair and for Michael r to insinuate that we did anything improper is a sign of a very untrusting person. He never called to ask about what he perceived to be big problems. But he uses this forum to publicly bash us. If he had a problem why would he not call and find out what happened good luck to you Michael r"

They broke pump basket closing last year. No fun finding pieces the Sunday morning we were opening pool. This year, they left 1 inch of DE on and 6 sq ft around the pump, DE splashed 2 feet up onto the house (3 ft from system). The door to the control panel (had broken hinges, but easily snapped into place held by small bungie) was left on the ground full of DE and water, leaving the panel exposed to the elements. The hose was a DE covered tangled mess. When I saw this I called, emailed photos and stopped payment on check. 3 wks later, still nothing. Sent check (-20%), cashed but no service.

"I do own up to some of the mess that was left there but it was because the earth filter had not been backwashed all year and the grids weighed about 200 lbs and could not be lifted out of the filter housing so we washed filter right in the housing. The pump basket was already broken and there was also DE all over the ground prior to us doing closing and she also exaggerated the mess that was left. Hose connected to the back of the filter as we washed it to carry away DE. Woman did call but after she had stopped payment on check and I felt it best to just let her vent and not get into an argument with her so I let her do what she felt she had to do."
