Description of Work: My family has been dealing with Atlas-Glenmor for the better part of 40 years and we have never had an issue with them. Automated oil delivery, once a year furnace cleaning. We have even used their new plumbing services without any hitch. Always a pleasure to get them on the phone, as well their crew is always courteous.

Description of Work: I have a contract with them for heating oil for an apartment my daughter lives in, which is part of a larger building with several other apartments. Last year was a truly horrific winter and my daughter's apartment became quite cold. I had them come and check the furnace system to make sure it was operating properly and that is their 'check-up' charge. There was apparently nothing wrong with the furnace, just poor insulation in the building. They arrived for the appointment when they said they would, the serviceman was courteous and informative. I have a heating oil contract with them which has a reasonable rate ceiling in effect.

Description of Work: I had a older boiler and any time I had a problem with it they were there immediately one night they even showed up at 10 pm to fix the boiler because I wasn't getting any heat and I had 2 children in the house and it was the middle of winter. I told them they could wait till the next day but they insisted on coming up that night so they could fix it. They were very good and I don't have one complaint about them.

Description of Work: We have been customers for oil and furnace maintenance for 5+ years and the person who comes out to service our furnace is awesome! Based on how much we liked him, we decided to employ Atlas for a larger job (7-10k) without even considering another vendor. After months of waiting to hear back about an appointment, we finally connected with a sales rep, but continued to have similar communication issues and finally decided to just go with another company. I'm very surprised that Atlas was not more responsive, especially considering that I have received numerous calls from them in the past trying to sell me on their other services (propane, plumbing, etc.). |I have also raised concerns about the fact that their oil prices are consistently and considerably higher than many of their competitors. I was told that the price is higher because of the 24x7 service they offer. We actually pay for an annual service contract that covers emergency visits, so I'm not sure why have to pay for these services again in the form of substantially higher oil prices. |
