Big Deal Coupon deal. Jim came and I showed him some work I was interested in having him do.  He pointed out an improperly wired subpanel. We discussed what was urgent/important enough to have him work on vs. what could wait.  Settled on three separate projects.  He provided a very clear estimate broken down by project.  Not pleased with the price, I opted to have him do one of the three and use my Big Deal to investigate (rather than necessarily repair) another.
Jim was generous with his time in that he or his assistants made a total of five trips, but this meant I needed to be available on five separate occasions.  This is neither a compliment nor a complaint--merely something to be aware of.
Two issues that arose during the course of the work were resolved to my full satisfaction.  1. The existing light fixture was not installed correctly (which neither Castle nor I knew about) and required modification to resolve. Since I wasn't home at the time, he met with me later to discuss the issue. We agreed on a resolution, and his assistants returned to complete the work at no additional charge. 2. I was dissatisfied with the color selection and placement of two switches within the 2-gang box, and his assistants gladly replaced the switches, also at no additional charge.
The cost of Castle's services was my only issue. Note that I am new to Massachusetts and am a DIY type, so my frame of reference on price is not the same as yours may be.

They did a terrific job from the beginning to the end.

Very good experience.  Two electricians were courteous and professional.  Workmanship and clean-up was excellent.

Jim was quick to return my initial call and it was appreciated that he could come right out the next day.  The work was done well as the garage door opener works fine.  He also gave me a quote to replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan at $351 (not including the fan) which was more than I expected for such a job, so likely won't have it done at this time.  

Very pleasant and courteous staff on the phone; went and looked at the broken fixture immediately; got back in touch with a quote that was consistent to the end.  The choice of light fixture was left to Castle and they chose perfectly.  They arranged a time at our convenience for the installation.  Job was done neatly without any disturbance to nearby gardens.

Overall quality of the work was good.  They could do a better job in communicating especially around schedule and overall expectations.  Job was done on time and budget.

I changed my submitted report dated 8/19/10 because of the excellent work completed. I had same complaint with Castle Electric then as I do now. The 1st stages of communication is where Castle Electrics has a very weak point (scheduling and estimates) I will post the communications to date so there are no he said she said issues. After a week with no estimate I called and was told they would give Jim a message, and they took my phone number. Twenty days later I've had no response and I've booked to have the work done by a solo operator listed on Angie's List. Must be nice to be big enough to turn down work.

Service was Excellent. Very personable and Professional! Work was completed as promised and quality was delivered as promised. They made very little if any damage to wall (as promised) and repaired what little damage was done (again as promised). I am planning on continuing our relationship and having them do many other projects around my home. Will definitely recommend to others around my neighborhood who I know have projects pending

The work cost me $4000. It was a positive experience. They are very professional and conscientious about safety. They believe in doing things the right way. They provide written estimates in advance; so there are no surprises. They are good at getting everything inspected and taking care of details. I will use this company in the future.

I had an old circuit that blew out repeatedly, locking my car in the garage that was only accessible with the electric garage door opener. When I called and explained my situation that morning, they worked me into the schedule and came within a few hours. The repaired the shorted wire that was causing the circuit to blow.

All of the electricians there are very personable, courteous and provide excellent service. They have provided all around excellent service for us, and we will definitely use them for all of our electrical needs.

I purchased a home in July 2011.  The previous owners' could be described as weekend warriors when it came to the electrical situation in the house.  I used Jim Prescott's company years ago when I owned a previous home, so I called him up to assess my new home's situation.  Jim came out to my house when he committed to, was professional, and spent the time necessary to assess the home's situation.  He took notes, made suggestions on the type of light, and type of fixtures that I might consider.  I had extensive work done including kitchen recessed lights, living room recessed lights, installation of a hanging wine rack with lighting feature. His crew was outstanding - showing up on time, and leaving my home each day cleaned up.  I would recommend his company without reservation.
