They were great. Ken Sr. took the time to run through their various fencing options, explaining their manufacturing process and what makes their materials different. He helped pick a style that looked attractive, stayed within our budget, and would add value to the home. We also discussed some problem areas with the previous fence we wanted to address (e.g., areas the dog could escape from due to inclines in the yard).
Bob, when he came out to take the measurements, helped with some design questions we had while he was on the property. We deferred to his judgement on a few things since he's done this many more times than we have and that turned out to be the best thing to do. The fence looks great.
We also had a date we really wanted to get the fence completed by. They worked with us and managed to hit the date. The installers stuck around late a few days after complications with the installation (hitting a boulder and some bedrock) in order to meet the date.
All in all, it was a great process. The fence looks amazing. The company was fantastic to work with. And the price was where we wanted to be. I'm sure we could have gotten a vinyl fence cheaper some place else, but shaving 10% for a lower quality product in something we're hoping will be a long-term fixture of the property didn't seem worth it. It took us a few years to save up, and I'm glad we did, rather than buy a budget fence earlier on.

Our experience was excellent! We have been telling everyone who will listen! The team was always on time, from the initial estimates to follow-up as we waited for our permit to the installation team. There were absolutely no surprises in the process. Kevin provided suggestions and guidance which was very helpful. Our neighbors keep commenting on how great the fence looks. It went very smoothly, on time and results are great.
Our terrain is sloping and installation was challenging, but the crew found solutions for every problem, all done with a smile.
The sales person (Kevin) visited during installation and kept in touch by phone. The crew sends pictures of progress to the home office. The company was very flexible and willing to make a change/re-install a panel at different height.
The crew foreman (Rick) was extremely skilled and efficient. The other workers (Richie and OJ) were just as good and pleasant.

It took a number of phone calls and ultimately threats to contact the BBB and the state to get them to respond, return and clean up the mess and finish the job. Ultimately the job was satisfactory but not great.

The quality of materials and the installation team from Colonial Fence were excellent. We compared the fence construction from several local vendors and fount the Colonial Fence to be superior to the others. We also noted the best looking fences in the area and noted that most of these were installed by Colonial. The cost of the Colonial Fence is slightly higher than some of the competition, but those competitors fences seem to sag or loose there straight lines over time. The crew arrived on time, were courteous and diligent in their work and completed the job on the same day. I would recommend Colonial Fence to anyone considering a fence or yard structure installation.

It went very well. I got their name from Angie's List and my husband noticed their name on fences while jogging. I went to their showroom and was able to see their product and get an idea of what I wanted and how it would look. They were very helpful and took the time to explain the process and what constitutes a quality fence and installation. I got one other quote but did not see the product that the vendor would install. I liked the idea of seeing the fences and knowing Colonial has been in business for 40 years. I also get a 2 year workmanship warranty. I believe this is incentive for them to do a quality installation. Ken Jr. was passionate about explaining to me the level of quality of their fence, that they make the fences on site, and that using cement on the vinyl posts is not a good idea. They have the longevity to back up their product and installations. The installers were hard workers, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. The finished job looks beautiful and I was very glad I went with Colonial. I also got a follow up call from Ken Sr. which showed me how they care and are attentive to their clients.
Over all I am extremely pleased. I told Ken I will leave his sign up out front of my house for a while.

Tremendous experience from the initial meeting with the sales guy who not only gave a quote, but educated me on different things to look for in fencing, new code requirements for fence gates around a pool, and most importantly, what to ask the next guys who were coming to give quotes. I asked those questions but also waited to see if they proactively offered some info that the Colonial guy had told me...by not offering certain info, I felt they either weren't as knowledgable or they were hiding something. We did get 3 quotes. One was VERY low, which set off some red flags and Colonial came in around $300 more than the 2nd of the 3. But because I felt the sales guy had taught me what to look for and made me feel very comfortable with the company's experience and quality of the product, we chose Colonial.
It was a decent sized job...fencing in an entire yard around a fence. The cost was about $13K, so that extra $300 wasn't a huge % of the total cost anyway...I'm always going to pay a little extra for quality.
My only complaint was that it took a while from when we were ready to go until they were able to get the inventory to start the installation...I think it was about 5-6 weeks. We were going from an older cedar fence to a new vinyl fence.
The 3-man installation crew was on time every morning(always starting by 8am) and they worked right through the brutal heat wave of July '13 without a word of complaint. They finished the installation in 5 days and left the yard as clean as they found it.
I would not have a fence installed without at least meeting with Colonial and speaking with them about the options they have. I'd HIGHLY recomment them.

I bid the job to a few companies to get an idea of price range. I included Colonial Fence because they provided me with my original fence about 25 years ago and I recall being very happy with their work and their product. I spent time on the phone with Ken discussing what I wanted and got a lot of good input from him on options and things I should be paying attention to. We then arranged to have them come out and measure for a quote. Ed came out at exactly the time he said he would, measured everything up and I got a quote that evening. Their price was right in line with the competitors and their responsiveness in the early process far exceeded the competition so I decided to go with Colonial Fence. I also needed the fence installed at a specific time in order to accommodate another contractor at the house and a pending graduation. They showed up on the day they said they would, did an outstanding job and finished up exactly when they said they would. We are really happy with the product and installation quality. Finally, and most importantly, they actually care what I think about their work.
There's a reason why these guys are still around after the building recession of the past 6 years. They do what they say they'll do.

We had roses and other thorny bushes and an extensive garden around the original fence. They did a beautiful job with minimal disturbance in one day! There was a small problem in one area and they came out immediately to fix it. I highly recommend them!

Experience went well. All workers were courteous. They installed approx. 250 linear Feet. Completed job within 5 days. Cleaned all debris. The vinyl fence has withstood some really high winds during storms with no problem.

Some issues of communication/misunderstanding about the exact details of the project led to some ad hoc changes of (what we understood to be) the original plans, but solutions were found (after the fact) and adequate revisions made for a reasonable additional fee. We will continue to use Colonial for our fencing needs.

I could not be happier with service, quailty and end result of Colonial Fence. They took time to ask what I wanted, take the appropriate measurements and provide multiple price points and options for the work. Ultimately they offered what my budget for the project was and it is was a great decision. The work was done within the time frame they allowed and work was completed within a day or two (even with some poor weather sprinkled in). We love the look and quality of the product and the company delivered on all it's promises. I will certainly look to use them again for any fencing needs in the future.
As a testament to their customer service, I contacted Colonial Fence about 1 month after installation to tell them a section of my fence had been tagged with spray paint by vandals. Within an hour they called back asked for the specifics, gave me a rough estimate to the replace the sections but also suggested ways I could clean the vinyl without ruining or replacing the sections. Most companies would have probably tried to just have me replace, but Colonial's suggestion for paint removal worked and with a little elbow grease the paint was gone later that afternoon.

Colonial Fence came out and took a look at the yard when they said they would and gave us a very reasonable quote. We looked at 3 fence companies and Colonial had the lowest price. They had open communication with us letting us know when they would come out and letting us know when they weren't able to make it due to the weather. They did an excellent job installing the fence. The crew that installed the fence were polite and didn't leave any trash behind. We are very happy with the fence and would hire Colonial Fence again if we needed any other work.
