I made a modification and increased the scope of the project. When we finally did make contact he advised that there would be an extra fee which I was fine with for the adjustment, but then he said I had to pay him $800 for canceling on him last January. At that point, I became angry and requested my money back. He has not yet responded. I had decided to use his services originally because I have used him in the past for work and I know he is capable and good. I'm just not happy about how the outcome of this project has unfolded.
Description of Work: I hired them to do roofing. I received an estimate on Nov. 3, 2008. The estimate was $4450 approximately. Before the Christmas holiday we met and determined a date to start. He agreed to begin work during the week after the new year. I had another contractor doing some other work for me who wasn't quite complete so I bumped the roof job date some and he was in agreement with that. I called him again a couple of weeks later to reschedule. He did drop off equipment (like ladders) and left them with the intention of working but we've not heard back from him to set and commit to a start date. For approximately 5 or 6 weeks I was not able to get him to commit to a start date. AND we did give him a $1400 deposit.
