We are a Coan oil customer with a regular service contract. While the water heater was not covered under the contract, the service was timely and efficient. The installation crew was pleasant and hard working. The water heater contract call for payment in 4 installments. We are pleased with the product and the installation.

Installation of the replacement tank went extremely well, as did the the installation of the current tank 25 years ago. Coan, Inc has installed, maintained, and fueled two oil heating systems since the 1970s. Coan built a 50-year relationship by providing the highest quality parts and service available at an acceptable cost premium.

From the beginning the signs were bad. The rep was a no call/no show for our appointment (which I left work for) and then I had to call the office to get him over for the quote. In the home he was polite and had some good ideas. Said I would get a quote in a week. No quote ever sent. I followed up over a week later and my name wasn’t even in their system. The rep then told me he would get me a quote by the end of the week. Again, no quote. I called again and again I am not in their system. I expressed my frustration and said that I was not going to beg them to pay $15k + for an AC and didn’t understand what the problem was, at which the secretary rudely hung up on me. Maybe they are too busy for their own good, or maybe they are not interested in customer service. Either way, I was not pleased. Plenty of other responsive and professional AC folks out there.

The new tank installation went perfectly - they were punctual, clean, and experienced. The project was inspected by the town without any issues.
Regarding other services, I trust them and find them very responsive on the rare occasion that there is an issue with the heating system.
The only area they could improve on is when I am looking for an upgrade such as the new tank - when I leave sales with a detailed message stating I want a price on an item, they could leave a more informative message than call me back.
In all the important matters, they have been a great company to work with.

Coan was the most prompt in coming out to quote, and out of three the best priced. Installation date was too long- more than 30 days, but when team arrived early on day of installation they were very professional and got the job done in 1 1/2 days vs 2 allocated. Cleanup was very thorough. We had work inspected by Mass Save and were told the job was very well done. We have now a a very quiet dependable, 3 zone boiler and plenty of very hot water. We have since received a letter from Coan thanking us for our business and telling us to be sure to contact them if there are any problems. Would definitely recommend without reservation.

COAN had installed the a/c system about 13 years ago. There had been materials left in the air handler that likely caused a mold problem. They came out several times and replaced the affected lines charging me only for materials. Although there was some disagreement as to why there was the mold build up they tried very hard to remediate the problem. I have used COAN for about 22 years to service my heating system. They are reliable and professional.

The installation went very well. The contractor was on time and performed excellent work. The team was neat and professional. Everything was done to my satisfaction, and I'm very particular.
They removed the old unit's condenser and air handler, which entailed working outside my home and in the attic. This also entailed replacing much of the coolant lines because the old system used the old freon refrigerant, which is not compatible with the newer coolant. They also had to flush and clean the vertical extant lines to ensure no contamination from the old freon. They also provided a new, programmable thermostat for that zone.
They placed drop cloths over my carpets and flooring to ensure no dirt was tracked into my house. They also removed all traces of the old equipment and vacuumed the carpets once they were finished. This was all accomplished in about 6 hours.
I could not have asked for better, more professional service.

Did not hire because before I could even schedule someone to take a look at my unit I was getting all kinds " of well we'll need to put a stick and check ...blah, blah" followed by "or it could ...blah, blah". All i heard was the caching, caching of ringing up a big bill. I stopped him and said, thanks but no thanks. Not helpful or personable.

PDP Services (electricians) installed system in one day. Two men arrived 8 AM and all was complete by 2:00 PM. Peter instructed us M 17S use and provided all components. Totally friendly & professional. Answered all our questions.

Excellent! We initially received two estimates, one from our former oil company and one from Coan. We were thinking of changing oil companies anyway and the Coan estimate came in about $3500 less, so we made the switch. It was very easy to deal with Coan and the job took 2 days. The Coan employees sent to our house to do the work were great, as they were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. They also had to run a cold air intake duct from the furnace, up through a closet on first floor into a closet on the second floor, through the ceiling in order to install the duct, since our cape style house did not have one on the second floor. It was definitely a lot of work and this was also included in the price, along with all other work, including electrical. Overall, great job!
