I am present on every job doing the work with one helper. It is a 2 man crew. We work for cash or checks & can make payment arrangements if needed. Award winning. Everything went pretty well, only complaint is that the cleanup left something to be desired, as mortar droppings were left around the house in several spots. Also I had to replace a temperature sensor which was located in the work area probably as a result of the repointing. No big deal, but took me a while to figure out what was wrong.

Jim Sullivan Masonry charges more than $399 just to power wash the chimney!

"Here was what was the proposed work to be done on your job. Power washing was just one aspect: 3 year Guarantee Chimney Waterproofing and Restoration 1. Set up of scaffolding 2. Decrease firebox opening 3. Install new flashing between roof and chimney 4. Fill in any cavities between stonework on chimney 5. Pressure Wash 6. Apply Sealer It is upsetting that your review does not state the work actually proposed to be performed. Furthermore, seeing you did not utilize my services, I do not understand why a review is warranted."

I asked if the $149 special that Jim was running would cover the job, as it sounded like it would from the ad that he was running. Below is his response. You be the judge. "where ,are the bricks,,? how long to travel there ? do you have the ladder ? do you have the cement? do you have the rope? do you have the pails? do you have shovel? do you have the wheelbarrow? do you have the hose? do you want to help for free? a 40 foot ladder will not get me to the top of a triple decker? You're funny if you think that 3 feet of chimney can be built and the job cleaned up ,in a 2hour time period,,, are you a comedian for a living? as i mentioned yesterday its all day with 2 men, $800,,, buy the Angie's list deal and add $500,,,cash when i arrive

"i responded truthfully to the members first request,,,with no actual previous masonry experience of his own,,he suggested what he thought was the time involved to complete his project,,,on my second response to the client i explained in my terms exactly what is involved with the project so that he could get a clearer picture of the project and for this explanation he took it upon himself to discredit me,,,i refuse to have anything more to discuss with closed minded individuals such as he"

Had chimney removed from roof, thru attic, second floor, first floor and down to basement. Only took a couple of days. All debris taken away and areas cleaned up. Would definitely recommend!

I've had Jim do a couple jobs for me. He is very responsive and kept me informed on the status of the job (daily progress reports). He did a good job prepping the job site to minimize and dirt and dust in the house. He finish the job on time and the quality of the work is good.

It went really well! They were great on time, it was done within 30 days. They originally said they only do those jobs on the weekends, but they made some exceptions for us. Professional, prompt and clean. It looks great!

Jim and his crew were excellent! He did a beautiful job restoring our front stairs. Jim takes a lot of pride in his work. The weather during the restoration was terrible. It rained almost every day. Jim never complained and worked during windows that weren't raining. They always clean the area before they left for the day. They worked hard and finished the job right! The best part (other than having beautifully restored stairs) is that Jim stayed in constant contact - when he would arrive (and he was always on time) and what he did after he left and. I would not hesitate to use Jim again!

There was a very quick turnaround on this service. Contact was made on Friday, 4/29, provider came out Sunday morning, 5/1, to spec out job. Was told that it would be a special order and that I would receive a quote on Monday. Quote came in on Monday, 5/2, and was extremely reasonable. Commitment made to provider by end of day Monday and order was placed. Provider stated would be able to install on Saturday but, even with all of the rain this week, was able to get it done a day early! Would definitely recommend!!
