A friend recommended Dr Looby. They used them for years.

Years ago, these vets came to the house to euthanize 2 cats so they wouldn't have to go to a place they hated to go. They were very nice. They came with blankets to wrap him in if I wanted them to dispose of him. The prices seems expensive but so do all medical costs. They are usually right on time, so not long to wait. The best thing about them is their professionalism and their care for the cats. I go to Dr. Thomas, mostly. I have gone to Dr. Looby.

This included cremation and getting the remains. They've taken good care of our dogs for many years. What stood out was his professionalism and compassion. He did a very thorough examination to help us make the decision. He gave us time to assess the condition, to evaluate the severity and it wasn't just a given. He worked with us to come to a conclusion. They ask before they do anything. They don't pressure. They are careful and they take cost into consideration.

Everyone is friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Maui was very easy to talk to and you could see that she loves animals. The only drawback is that the office is on the other side of Medford from my home and I don't have a car. Despite that I will go back again.

We found them through our neighbor. They have been pretty convenient with the appointments. Their vets have shifted hours; we can take 7'o clock appointment. They are friendly. It is not a huge group, but there is someone available. It is not an urgent care. They are good about the responsiveness.

They are very caring and they make sure that the dog is taken care of. They also realize that sometimes, there is financial limitations.

The last time I was there was when I had to put my beagle down. They were very caring and explained to me every step of the way what was going to be done. This is the hardest for any animal lover to do. They made sure that I was comfortable and explained all my options. I chose to have him cremated and had his ashes put into Urn that I had selected. They arranged it all and I was very pleased with the results.

They are excellent. The staff is very friendly and they're very good with the pets. My cat is very afraid to go out of the house or go to the vet and they make him feel very comfortable there. The doctor is very knowledgeable. They are very good and they explain everything. There is not a long wait time. I will absolutely go there again in the future.

They were extremely caring and compassionate. My experience was everything it should have been when you experience a tragedy like this.

We gave this listing a "B" in professionalism because of Dr. Looby and the Vets we encountered before one specific Vet altered our perception of this practice. When Dr. Looby's office first opened up, we could easily get an appointment for our cat's exams with Dr. Looby. We had great confidence in him and his diagnostic talents. He was always very concerned for our cats and would advice us on their care as if they were his own pets.We have been going to this practice for over 20 years. As time past,this practice added several Vets and Dr. Looby was less available. Each time we had an appointment we saw a different Vet, depending on what day our appointment was scheduled. No other Vet could replace Dr. Looby. Each Vet appeared competent but would interact with our cats differently. We utilized this practice not only for well visits but for euthanasia of several of our cats.What changed our perception of this practice, was when a male Vet took our young and easy going cat into a different room, away from us, and a biopsy was performed on his forehead without any anesthetic. Since then our cat is terrified of going to this practice. A cat who was loving and easy going at home, became a cat who "flips out". Afterwards, when we did bring our cat in for an exam, because of his behavior, the Vet appeared afraid of him and could not exam him fully and very hastily would trim some of his nails. Not a good experience for all involved. At this time would not go back to this practice.To lessen the anxiety for our cat, we are currently looking into a Vet who will make house calls.

A year ago they diagnosed my pet with diabetes. based on Angies List (faulty) I took her to Dr. Lobby. For a year I spent over 1500 dollars for blood tests and for them to measure the glucose level while giving her a strange insulin. Due to many sudden drops in weight and the inability to get a different answer from them, I tool my pet to a different vet and lord and behold...she had urinary tract infection! Now she is in a different insulin and way much better as they changed the stupid treatment she was having under that Lobby Vet place.

I chose Looby's because of the good feedback here. When I made my appointment, they required a $70 pre-payment for the appointment, as they have had lots of cancellations. Homer (the pug) and I were right on time, would have been a few minutes early if not for challenging parking (leave a couple of extra minutes to find a spot!) The office was clean, and the tech working at reception was very nice. Once taken into the exam room only a couple of minutes after our appointment time, very good for mid-day at a vet's office, the exam was thorough, my questions were answered fully, and I learned a few new things. Homer was a little difficult for the shot and nail clipping, but the vet was good spirited about it, only stopping to make sure I was OK. We left with medicine, a "home remedy" much cheaper than a second needed medicine, and an appointment for 4 weeks later to have the tech complete the vaccination regimine. I appreciated the conservative approach to vaccination, both having a long discussion about the Lyme vaccine and having rabies vaccine, but holding the distemper for the later appointment, in case there was a reaction (they would know what caused it). Overall, highly rate, and plan to bring our other dog in when her annual appointment comes up. I would also say that I expected to pay significantly more for the annual exam with tests, shots, medicine, and nail clipping.

He is always very clear in telling me what needs to be done, what my options are and the associated cost. His office environment is very nice. He is very good with the cats. He is a little expensive.

The staff is professional and caring. I always feel like they treat my pets as they would their own.

I adopted Riley on April 6th and called the following day to schedule a physical for him. They were able to see him the following Tuesday and told me to bring a fresh stool sample as well as his paperwork. The office is in a single family home rather than a strip mall or traditional office building, which was nice. The staff was friendly and organized, and my appointment started right on time. The doctor let Riley out and observed him walking around the room, then weighed him and gave him a thorough exam including checking his teeth. Both the doctor and the vet assistant were professional and clearly liked cats - Riley's a very mellow cat and they did a great job keeping him calm during the exam. The doctor answered my rookie questions politely and gave me suggestions for feeding and grooming that were very helpful. The whole process took about 1/2 an hour. I will definitely bring Riley back for his shots and annual physical.

Everyone that works there is very friendly. Dr. Looby is very knowledgeable in giving advise on how to treat your pets in terms of medications and treatment options. He is an exceptional vet. They have been in the same location which is part of a 2 family house for 30 years. I will continue to go to Dr. Looby and would also recommend.

Looby Veterinary Group is owned by Dr. Looby and he is wonderful. I respect what he says and he displays a vast knowledge of veterinary medicine. I'm happy with the staff and technicians here as well. I don't remember what the price was but I know it's about what all of the others charge.

We have used them for a lot of years. They are very great, professional and know exactly what they are doing. They know you by your name. They keep your records and I would highly recommend them.

We love bringing our cat to Looby. They are a really professional outfit that generally cares about the well being of our animals. Their price is perfect for us. The price dosen't include any vaccinations or blood work but we feel it is pretty inexpensive considering the other competition out there.
